Hi Golden Reviewer. Your tests is still the best from the others! Thank you for your work. I think test Genshin Impact on S21 or S22 will be also interesting with GOS on and off with medium graphic performance but with 60 FPS. Many people wants play on many games with smooth graphic with some disadvantages of graphic. :) Genshin Impact it's so demanding and not good optimized for smartphones. A lot of games is much well optimized and this test will show many gamers better smoothness without causing too much heating process.
Genshin Impact runs about Equal to the Exynos 2200 here on my Snapdragon 765, also maxed out. It is decently Optimised but the Snap 8 gen 1 is just a heater and therefore won't handle it for long. The Snap 865/870 does run this game better than the Snap 8 gen 1 or Exynos 2200 as it doesn't heat as much, and therefore can hold it for much longer. There even was a Snap 865 phone without cooler that managed 55FPS average at maxed out settings.
I was meant to test even older game with GOS on and off on S22 Ultra or S21 Ultra. Older or other games still have nice graphic with 60 or more frame per second support. Older games with GOS on still have limit for FPS about 30 or 40, but without GOS have max FPS with session gameplay even 1 or couple hours. Impressive is that, there is no heating problem at all.
what we see in the comparison, GOS reduces SOC performance by limiting POWER. The SOC heats up more because it works at a higher voltage with the GOS ON.
Weird that before this update if you disabled gos manually then you got 10 fps more and lower power consumption than now with new gos disable feature. ruclips.net/video/3A19a8jpcDw/видео.html

See, I know I don't really like how Samsung tried so hard to keep the temperature of their phones low by throttling their phones too much, but honestly, throttling is one of some heat management techniques that is crucial to keep your phone's temperature low and to protect your phone. Too much heat is not good for your phone, GOS is one of the techniques to strike that balance, because there's no point in only achieving peak performance in the first few minutes, only for it to throttle so much because the heat is too much to handle. @@bulletpunch9317 My S22 Ultra doesn't give me an old phone experience though. Whether GOS are on or Off, you won't notice any difference in performance when scrolling Facebook or Instagram or watching TikTok or RUclips videos, they are most likely using the middle CPU core cluster (Cortex-A710) and not the X2 cluster with minimum GPU activity so why would you want maximum performance for these non-demanding apps?

This was 100% expected, ppl were misinformed and delusional in thinking that turning off GOS will somehow give them a permanent boost in performance, lol... This was simply overblown out of proportion by misinformed ppl. Like i said already, disabling GOS can only give you a short burst of higher performance and once the termal throttling kicks in, that's it. You end up at the same or even worse performance level when compared to GOS on just with much higher power consumption and thermals... So, the point is to leave GOS enabled, like it was from the start. If someone wants to play demanding games in higher fps all the time, buy a gaming phone with better cooling. Anyway, great job @golden reviewer 👍🏻

@@Pholland420 Sure, that is an option... If you can keep the temp down with that fan, you should have higher fps with GOS off... Let us know how it went pls.
Hi golden reviewer. I know testing at max graphic settings is interesting. However, there also some people who want to play for longer period with MEDIUM PRESET settings (and customize the fps limit to 60fps). Maybe just for once, you can try making a video with this graphic preset to ideas how do they perform on the long run
from my experience, when environment graphics is set below medium the game has much better long term performance (compared to lowering other graphic presets). For this reason, I like having everything, other than environment, set to high/medium and it runs well for much longer while still having great graphics 👍

A good test with Genshin Impact is going into a domain or abyss. My problem is that when I start the domain or abyss, it take 3-5 seconds for monsters to appear, which is a problem. Good test to try out and show us. Please test it out.
Could you please try with GOS off with official vs non - official comparison, also with and without a cooler. Perhaps a video where you test different coolers until you find one that you like. Thank you, really great channel and best informative videos out there. Appreciate it!
@DANIEL CHUKWUKERE no, what he meant is, after this new GOS update, compare the performance of official way to turn off GOS, vs the way he showed in the previous video, which is using internet blocking, there might be a difference?
@@jeffreytangshaohui There is no difference, its been tested, a better solution is keeping GOS on and samsungs game drivers s20 adreno for Snapdragon or Mali for Exynos 2200 (yes it works for this model its tested) install game plugins just like golden reviewer from game launcher or galaxy store and enable game booster plus. Game booster plus will set your game to have good performance, stop any heating, maintain good battery, and stop throttling just watch Dame tech's video on his fps improvement on s22 ultra.
To be honest we need this to able to turn off GOS, turn it off when u fight bosses or some hard content where u need high fps to react otherwise I think for world exploration in genshin its fine

Good news the dimensity 8100 is the spiritual successor of the 865 even beating mtk own D9000 in FPS while consuming watts at snap 7 series chipsets... Stronger than the 865 and being way more efficient
Saw a video compare the s10e to the s22 and inmost things they performed equally. Most power on most modern flagships is wasted dor the average user and jsur to get sales by sounding impressive
Your comparisons are great and very useful. However, I do have some concerns regarding the "fake fps". It seems that the software limits the fps(real+fake/software fps) to the set limit of 60 to save power, instead of adding 10 to the original 60 to make it a 70fps gameplay. This means that not considering the "fake" fps would make the phone look inferior in performance compared to how it actually is since the phone limits the fps measurable by your tool to 50. Considering the fact that previous generations are capable of 60 real fps genshin impact before throttling, it is imo safe to say this generation is definitely capable of doing so, but is limited in favour of the "fake fps" which uses less power for pretty much the same result. To make the tests more fair, i think it would be better to either: 1. include the "fake fps" in the result(maybe make 2 charts? one with and one without the fake fps). 2. disable the fake fps feature completely to remove the 50fps limit(if possible) Those are my suggestions, it would be nice if you could implement it, but if not it's alright.
technically, they increased the power consumption to deliver more performance. well, amd gpu in mobile phones was doomed to fail in the first try anyway. I mean most apps was not optimized for that chip. In the future when developers start to optimize their apps for the chip, people will probably see an increase in performance. in raw power it does trade blow with 8gen1 but when in comes to optimization, nothing.
That's not the angle you should be looking at this from. Samsung is selling a phone marketing their chips with high performance. Which they can reach on paper but you're not getting because this chip isn't compatible with their hardware. They're selling paper specs to make the phone out to be a top flagship, so you will pay the big bucks. But actually you will nevre be able to use all the performance they sold you because it will overheat the phone and drain the battery.
This is really what I was expecting tbh,the power consumption was almost doubled for 15% more performance, it happens when you keep increasing the voltage the more you increase the less efficient it gets although gaining more performance. It's the same incase of Overclocking the more you Overclock the lesser the performance gain and efficiency
If you want to play games with high fps and graphics quality you should buy a gaming phone with the appropiate heat disipation system. That phones can mantain cpu and gpu performance along a hole gaming sesion, without thermal throttling at all.
Battery performance is the same on my end. I think the reason why you still throttled is cause you forgot to turn off the monitoring temp option under game booster on notification bar. You'll see that when you go to notification bar while the game is open. There should be a pop up settings when you click that and you'll be able to toggle off "Auto performance Management". There's also a message there that if it's turned on "Volume and framerate will go down if temperature is high".
So basically even if you turned off GOS the drop in frame rates will still happen soon as the pgone hits high temp so you still need to toggle that off.
It will still throttle regardless. Temperature throttling is a failsafe meant to prevent the cpu/gpu or battery/internal components from being permanently damaged. You cannot just flick a switch to turn that off.
As I thought before, what serves to keep the cell phone working longer without receiving the temperature and by disabling it you can have a fast initial performance but it gets very hot, decreasing even getting worse than with it activated
Personally, I'd leave it on. I don't see a reason to turn it off really. Better FPS, sure, but can it be sustained for a long period? Probably not. Plus like the only things that push the S22U to the limit is like Genshin and MAYBE Honkai along with other games (like Apex Legends, but I dunno how demanding it is. Heck, haven't even seen gameplay of it yet lmao) It is still nice though to have the option I guess. Also, can you do a test with the game from Galaxy Store and Play Store? Im curious to see which performs better, alot of people are saying Galaxy Store is optimized but im curious as to how much more optimized it is
I turned gos off using netguard on my regular s10 exynos and I swear performance has definitely improved by atleast 30-40% and my phone surprisingly gets less warm than before, just typing on the keyboard and scrolling through apps feels significantly less jaggy
Honestly if you are playing games like genshin I would just not get an s22 at all, even with GOS off the fps is some of the worst I have seen it is so massively unstable and low. Heck I use a red magic 6 not even the pro one that uses a snapdragon 888 and in the same spot Inazuma city, on max settings, with yae miko, it never goes below 52fps even with GOS off the s22 hit all the way down to 38 and the snapdragon one is really no better, it even still preforms worse then snapdragon 888 phones. That is embarrassingly bad that is worse then the last gen of chips by a large margin, Samsung did an awful job with thermals and thought they could get away with just kneecaping the phones performance. I mean heck they fixed it for games and it is still bad at best, they have even lied and said they did not do it to the about 8000 other apps that we have tested and know are throttled, so they are not going to fix that. You are paying above flagship price and getting a budget device that would overheat if it even used about half of its power.
@@nigelthornberry7513 well personally idc about genshin, game boring 😂I played it on my s21 ultra and it did great but honestly game is just boring, but other might play it so hopefully samsung stops their shit and fixes it for other people, but 1 thing I do wonder is when are we gonna see a gaming phone with a m1 or m2 chip😏shit I'm a samsung user bcuz of dex, split screen and so but do wonder what it would be like see a gaming with a m1/m2 chip
In short... we've been sold paper specs marketed like an awesome flagship. But the performance we've paid for can't be reached for it will drain your battery and overheat your phone. Samsung probably made us pay for the devellopment and use of GOS in the phones too. This more expensive chip also costs a lot more work to surpress it from messing up the other hardware it is not compatible with.
I play on medium graphics with the galaxy store version, environmental detail at lowest ,60 fps, powersaving mode on, Gos disabled and gamebooster plus enabled in the game plugins. and honestly, i barely experience fps drops anymore compared to before and even without phone cooler, it heats but it does not lag anymore. Turning the gos off was a solution i never knew i needed.
After One UI 4.1 with GOS update, i'm switching back using GOS :3 Dang my Genshin played smoothly on S20FE snapdragon.. yeah maybe around 45 to 60fps (low settings) THANK YOU FOR THE GOS UPDATE, SAMSUNG ❤️
I found Dame tech video about using game plugins, game booster plus and samsung game drivers adreno in google playstore be much better than turning GOS off by the update. Thank you for spreading the word, lets avoid overheating our phones when there are better solutione that will keep your phone alive longer
Can u try turn on low refresh rate 48fps, in my experience that mode is make the phone fps more stable. And 48 fps i think a sweet spot, it already smooth, barely notif the difference
Both of the options is bad but as a hard-core genshin player I play for 3-4 hours a day so I'm on gos on side because I tried gos off and it's terrible after 15 min the fps went from 50-30 to 35-20 and keeps in mind my country is frozen, but when gos on for 3 hours of playing the fps stay on 30 minimum
Damn there's barely any difference. On my S21u without any third party I always get only 20-25fps max playing genshin. I get 30fps max but only like 5% of the time and that too only in bursts of like 2-3 seconds. So basically I've never seen a smooth frame rate playing genshin. After installing net guard to disable gos I get a conformable 30-40 fps with smooth gameplay 90% of the time with dips on frame rate for the 10% of the time but that too only for like a second or two till its back up. My phone does heat up tho more than normal. But it's worth it playing genshin
To be fair gos keeps the game warm and honestly with it turned on I can play for more than an hour and have average gaming temperature. But at the cost of frame rate. And honestly after playing at a smooth frame rate I can't go back to a low fps for better heat management
Even with GOS off it can't manage to do at least 50FPS. While Snapdragon 870 midrange phones can maintain at least 50FPS. Literally This Exynos 2200 is trash. Samsung literally broke everyone's Hope this year AMD GPU after update is still nothing in front of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and leave A15 Bionic there. Now I am waiting for the Snapdragon version of Galaxy S22 Ultra. I hope it can hold 60FPS
Dude if this is playing this game at 1440p high settings then this is doing fantastic since 1440p is really taxing on a GPU. I don't think you know how GPUs and CPUs work however playing at 1440p in itself is really demanding never mind high settings. The reason why the A range performance on Snapdragon is good is because it's at 1080p which doesn't tax the GPU as much. If this was 1080p high it would be running way better then it is running now. If it's not then I'm wrong but I'm certain that this is at max resolution and on max settings.
IMO playing a game isn't the best way to get data for this . For it to be a fair comparison you'd need to do exactly the same moves at the same point in both test and that is impossible. For instance you might do something graphically intensive in one run a couple of times in succession and only once in the next run etc Only synthetic benchmarks are infinitely repeatable time and time again for consistency
@@yuan_lynx It does to a degree , but as i said you need to do exactly the same moves , get the same graphical effects etc to compare exactly . GOS on or off with a benchmark app does exactly that so would translate which would be better for real world use.
The thing with the GPUWatch FPS on Genshin Impact is that you need to open the game, go back to home screen and then back to the game again, otherwise it'll show you always 60 FPS. I had this behavior before.
It depends what Samsung has done in the background. Is Samsung throttling earlier and more if you disable GOS? Can we take anything Samsung does as on the level? Fundamentally it is clear the hyped new cooling system is not fit for purpose and it looks like the Exynos is impossible to run at close to its limits, eg Genshbin gets throttle >40%. The SD870 performs better. It is very disappointing.
Sure GoS is not a malware, but they should at the very beginning leave an option to disable it for user and dont behave themself as apple corp, deciding which is better for users ignoring the users own opinion...
Well, on my samsung m21 still not got gos update. When i play game the experience so bad, the fps keep drop and gpu usage is already 100%. Then i search on google to fix this problem. Then i got game booster and choose power saving mode, at first it looks impossible, but when i tried it, it actually work. The game runs fluidly with 60 fps and gpu usage 76%. Idk, the perfomance mode should give the better gaming experience;)
I don't see that Labs section even though I have the update and I noticed that your game optimization is grayed out on yours, on mine it's not and it allows me to choose performance over battery so I'm not sure if that's what I'm supposed to be doing please confirm and if you've heard of this before or if others are having this same issue please let me know.
How about I also have s22 like this, but although it improved, it does not compare with the method of disabling gos, unfortunately it no longer works for me to use netguard
Great up to the moment review, I'm glad u kinda finished all this mess on the internet about this GOS , my opinion that GOS is one good software, as long as keeping good battery power consumption, and reduce the device temperature not only this but also i see no difference between GOS ON AND OFF in performance, at least by human eye , why all the hate for this GOS , I REALLY HAVE NO IDEA !!!! keep up ur good work buddy
The hate is not towards the GOS but towards the Samsung for not being transparent about this from the start. Though people might have understood the importance of GOS now.
So basically what you mean is that GOS on and off are almost the same thing. Is this the case only for Genshin Impact or with other high graphics games as well ? Will a cooler one will have different performance (better) and a better temperature with GOS off ? Are the cases that you showed are same for SD? I will be grateful if you demonstrate these questions in a video of yours
About the 10 FPS, sometimes GPU watch is looking the fps on thehome screen, and not on the game. Try to go on the quick bar, hide icons, and turn on again with the game opened already
on A52S 778g its the same thing. gpuwatch always shows higher fps graphs. there is even significant difference i performance between play store and samsumg store versions. the play store gives always better fps. I have A52 too and 720g performs better with galaxy store version. while as always gpuwatch shows higher fps.
SD 778g was more efficient and it is better than the previous flagship processer which is 860 even in gaming test. The GPU performance also almost the same with 860
I purchased S22 Ultra for my gaming to post on youtube, especially New state. It was a very disappointing experience. The graphics were very poor compared to its Specs. I had to resell it to someone else at a very low price to buy iPhone 13 pro Max. It is 1000 times better than s22 for gaming
CPU throttling on the device is too much. Tbh, I think they should've fit the Exynos 2200 into an 8 inch-tablet that can house a cooler so that it can be used to its full potential because, it's pretty much a waste of power when you have an RTX chip on a phone but mobile games don't support it.....atleast, mobile game devs under big companies, other mobile games from indie companies have support for 120fps which is something even CODM doesn't have.
By any chance does your twitter app lag when you scroll and your CPU jumps to like high usage over 90% + on your Exynox 2200 ? I'm asking because samsung seem to not have fixed this issue with the new update and I have been looking on the samsung forums and others seems to have this issue when scrolling through the twitter app, it lags.
Could you please run this game with other Snapdragon Gen 1 phones to see the difference. I know this is the Exynos version but there is not much difference between this chipset and Snap. We need to see how other devices with new Snap chipset handle this game. Thanks
Why, when you turned off the GOS through the labs, the temperature is above 44 degrees ??? And when you turn it off manually, the temperature is 44, but the game is twice as smooth🤔🤔🤔🤔
Can you do gos off with a cooler? I bet the performance will be much higher. (I currently game heavily with my S21ultra SD variant, with my gos off and a cooler and the performance is wayy better than with gos on and the cooler). In other apps though there's no difference with gos on or off.
Is gos disabled for 3rd party apps by default after the update? Or does the button from Labs in game booster disable gos for both games and 3rd party apps?
Remember when tsmc made the snapdragon 865+, its performance was wicked and it was competing with the iPhone very much. This is in comparison to the golden references between the Note 20 Ultra and the iPhone 12 Pro Max. If we are Samsung fans, we must send a message that is to improve the processors it makes or make tsmc make it Where are you fans, press Like to force it to improve please
Honestly, if you look at the fps from the test it seems that it is software limited to include the "fake fps" mentioned on the start of this video. That explains the 50fps peak performance pre throttling while previous generations are capable of 60 despite having improved performance. The bad news is, as far as i know there is no way to remove that fake fps feature and the limit to test the phone's peak gaming potential, but I'd assume it's about 7-10 fps with higher power consumption. The good news is, you get pretty much an extra 10 fps on real world use while using less power than if it were "real fps".
I do agree samsung needs to improve their processor manufacturing game tho, not necessarily in peak performance, more so in efficiency and heat generation
This is no different from iphones. Even with the latest one with apple's latest chip. It will eventually throttle after playing genshin for a while. Modern phones are just too tightly packed and there is not enough space to disperse the heat. Only gaming phones with active cooling (fans) can overcome this limitation.
Samsung was right on opting GOS. Many people, was against Samsung for GOS. See Samsung knows what they are doing. GOS OFF only fetches you, peek performance during the early minutes until heat rises.
The thing is that a $1200 device should not need GOS and this shows that the S22U is simply poor running at max settings on Genshin. Samsung needs to sort out thermal management and optimisation. It is awful that it needs 8000 mW to run at 50FPS when the iPhone only uses half to get the same. This is the issue, Samsung Fabs just have failed at efficiency and to get the performance they are just ramping up the wattage. This is fundamentally awful by Samsung and it is no surprise they have lost contracts to make Qualcomm chips. Thankfully next year Samsung apologists will see how much Samsung Fabs have limited battery and performance as we moved to TSMC.
I mean we can tweak the settings a bit to get 50-60 fps , even in real life mostly people won't play at highest settings everyday bcz it will result very high battery drain , highest settings + GOS off is only good with a cooler bcz then i think you can get 40+ avg fps 😚✌🏻
Would love to see a battery test between GOS on vs off.

However, there also some people who want to play for longer period with MEDIUM PRESET settings (and customize the fps limit to 60fps). Maybe just for once, you can try making a video with this graphic preset to ideas how do they perform on the long run
2nd to this. I want to play for longer, ideally on 60 fps medium settings rather than max performance for 10 mins
from my experience, when environment graphics is set below medium the game has much better long term performance (compared to lowering other graphic presets). For this reason, I like having everything, other than environment, set to high/medium and it runs well for much longer while still having great graphics 👍
Europe has an official update for today and it has a solution or change for the camera stability of the exynos version. Cant wait to see your video about the camera improvements after the software update 😁😁😁
YESSS THISSS, and with the snapdragon version too(when the update is out)
@DANIEL CHUKWUKERE no, what he meant is, after this new GOS update, compare the performance of official way to turn off GOS, vs the way he showed in the previous video, which is using internet blocking, there might be a difference?
@@jeffreytangshaohui There is no difference, its been tested, a better solution is keeping GOS on and samsungs game drivers s20 adreno for Snapdragon or Mali for Exynos 2200 (yes it works for this model its tested) install game plugins just like golden reviewer from game launcher or galaxy store and enable game booster plus. Game booster plus will set your game to have good performance, stop any heating, maintain good battery, and stop throttling just watch Dame tech's video on his fps improvement on s22 ultra.
@@jeffreytangshaohui They should watch the video with GOS off and this one with GOS on.
ya better to go with Samsungs settings, they tested the device and optimized it for a reason.
Btw, I realised having 60hz motion from phone settings makes your games run in better performance than of on 120hz. Note it.
To be honest we need this to able to turn off GOS, turn it off when u fight bosses or some hard content where u need high fps to react otherwise I think for world exploration in genshin its fine
Only for first few minutes. After that fps will drop due to the heat. So what's the point?
@@toray424 that's depend on your country, for example at my country now I have between 2c-10c it doesn't effect my phone when I turn off GOS it just give me a better preformance with good Temps I'm sure alot of people have low room temperature can enjoy GOS off without losing performance or damaging the phone, also at some hot countries or trains etc they using AC also effect ur phone preformance
Man I miss the good old snapdragon 865 days when even non gaming phones maintained peak performance
Good news the dimensity 8100 is the spiritual successor of the 865 even beating mtk own D9000 in FPS while consuming watts at snap 7 series chipsets... Stronger than the 865 and being way more efficient
Mi11 Ultra is way better than Exynos CRAP devices
cant deny, its all about the OEMs messed up the SoC
To make the tests more fair, i think it would be better to either:
1. include the "fake fps" in the result(maybe make 2 charts? one with and one without the fake fps).
2. disable the fake fps feature completely to remove the 50fps limit(if possible)
Those are my suggestions, it would be nice if you could implement it, but if not it's alright.
technically, they increased the power consumption to deliver more performance. well, amd gpu in mobile phones was doomed to fail in the first try anyway. I mean most apps was not optimized for that chip. In the future when developers start to optimize their apps for the chip, people will probably see an increase in performance. in raw power it does trade blow with 8gen1 but when in comes to optimization, nothing.
Well imo Samsung made GOS to make "Exynos is close to snapdragon" claim true
Samsung need to focus on soc department much seriously
I knew it, gos was not that bad. This thing got simply out of hand.
See if that makes a difference on your game please and update us.
I don't see Exynos lasting for long. RIP Exynos. The competition will be between Snapdragon and Mediatek both on TSMCs node.
Would love to see if there was any performance different between Play Store version and Samsung Store version of Genshin Impact.
An experimental game performance management system - lol. I think GoS is the experimental GPMS
As I thought before, what serves to keep the cell phone working longer without receiving the temperature and by disabling it you can have a fast initial performance but it gets very hot, decreasing even getting worse than with it activated
I had the same issue for my Fold 3 and now it can run genshin perfect fine! thanks!
Heck, haven't even seen gameplay of it yet lmao)
It is still nice though to have the option I guess.
Also, can you do a test with the game from Galaxy Store and Play Store? Im curious to see which performs better, alot of people are saying Galaxy Store is optimized but im curious as to how much more optimized it is
My s20+ exynos doesn't have problem with the old apex. Maybe this newer beta might increase its resources.
I turned gos off using netguard on my regular s10 exynos and I swear performance has definitely improved by atleast 30-40% and my phone surprisingly gets less warm than before, just typing on the keyboard and scrolling through apps feels significantly less jaggy
Codm and apex legends don't push it to their limit,I play both on a s21 ultra and very smooth, very smooth and nice
Thank you for updating us🙏🏾
I'm subscribed now.
All of it deserves a subscription.
hi golden reviewer, I want to know which software/app do you use to measure fps and power in every video
This thing was hitting 11W of power consumption?! Whaaaat???
In short... we've been sold paper specs marketed like an awesome flagship. But the performance we've paid for can't be reached for it will drain your battery and overheat your phone.
Samsung probably made us pay for the devellopment and use of GOS in the phones too. This more expensive chip also costs a lot more work to surpress it from messing up the other hardware it is not compatible with.
Pretty normal for a tech company to test their new chips on the newest devices. So yeah you can technically say that you're all paid beta testers.
How did you use game plug-ins when GOS is disabled?
I can't even use gameplugins when my GOS is disabled? Tell me bro how?
Turninh gos off just to play on medium-low? Only on samsung😆
@@UmDevotothey didn't even mention what processor they had? maybe it's an older one that can't handle higher graphics settings as well?
After One UI 4.1 with GOS update, i'm switching back using GOS :3
Dang my Genshin played smoothly on S20FE snapdragon.. yeah maybe around 45 to 60fps (low settings)
THANK YOU FOR THE GOS UPDATE, SAMSUNG ❤️
I found Dame tech video about using game plugins, game booster plus and samsung game drivers adreno in google playstore be much better than turning GOS off by the update. Thank you for spreading the word, lets avoid overheating our phones when there are better solutione that will keep your phone alive longer
Can u try turn on low refresh rate 48fps, in my experience that mode is make the phone fps more stable. And 48 fps i think a sweet spot, it already smooth, barely notif the difference
Bro how to do that pls tell how?
I just tried Genshin on Exynos with lab setting enabled with 48fps lock and seemed wayyy more stable even after heating up.
@@owenporter1472 Yup in my experience like that too, the avg fps around 45fps for me.
@@vishvabaskaran1728 In Game Booster setting, scroll down, there low refresh rate 48fps option.
Lol
@@chris.a9628 Buy a phone cooler. Its the only way to play smoothly and with high FPS, works like a charm on my S21+ with black shark pro cooler.
@@mega4304 yup, a phone cooler is the only way.
I am getting a Spigen Cryo case tomorrow that is supposed to help with cooling my phone. I will see how it works.
Samsung didn't break anyone's hope.
People should take responsibility for their shitty overhyped unrealistic expectations. 😂😂😂
Samsung will SD 8Gen1 also throttle hard. Its Kernel Level CRAP implementation.
@@bullymaguire2569 lol nope, the internal res is way lower
Let’s see battery drainage test, where gos on and off and see how much each mode draws
IMO playing a game isn't the best way to get data for this . For it to be a fair comparison you'd need to do exactly the same moves at the same point in both test and that is impossible. For instance you might do something graphically intensive in one run a couple of times in succession and only once in the next run etc
Only synthetic benchmarks are infinitely repeatable time and time again for consistency
This review shows off Real Life scenario.
@@yuan_lynx It does to a degree , but as i said you need to do exactly the same moves , get the same graphical effects etc to compare exactly . GOS on or off with a benchmark app does exactly that so would translate which would be better for real world use.
Exynos witouth gos have The same fps 32.7 of the snapdragon, but the snapdragon have less consumption than exynos with gos. Epic difference
The thing with the GPUWatch FPS on Genshin Impact is that you need to open the game, go back to home screen and then back to the game again, otherwise it'll show you always 60 FPS. I had this behavior before.
Lol at the end of the day GOS turn on is better for long gaming sessions. So technically this GOS off update is useless.
Hi Mr Golden, does this off-GOS feature available in S21+ and S21 Ultra?
And is the interframe things you talked about available in S21+ ?
Samsung should improve the Genchin embact and fix the errors, it's a sad performance from Flakship
Why don't you test it by actually disabling GOS launcher and booster via ADB? I don't think alternative game mode disables it
Sure GoS is not a malware, but they should at the very beginning leave an option to disable it for user and dont behave themself as apple corp, deciding which is better for users ignoring the users own opinion...
Atleast they show some respect to customers and acted immediately
Well, on my samsung m21 still not got gos update. When i play game the experience so bad, the fps keep drop and gpu usage is already 100%. Then i search on google to fix this problem. Then i got game booster and choose power saving mode, at first it looks impossible, but when i tried it, it actually work. The game runs fluidly with 60 fps and gpu usage 76%. Idk, the perfomance mode should give the better gaming experience;)
When will Samsung download update for Exynos 2200
Nice vid thank u. It still be the matter of game optimization. Hope that game's developer could delivers update in future heh
What's your system build number?
@@GoldenReviewer same is happening with me I have just updated to oneui4.1 s21 ultra yet no labs option
Golden Reviewer, I found that Galaxy S22 Ultra (Snapdragon variant) have some improved performance after updating to One UI 5 (based on Android 13).
How about I also have s22 like this, but although it improved, it does not compare with the method of disabling gos, unfortunately it no longer works for me to use netguard
Remember when smartphones could keep peak performance? Yeah i miss sd865 days
Strange. Mine doesn't have the Game optimization option in my Game Booster settings.
Please do the same comparison for S21 as OneUI 4.1 is already out for it and we got an option to disable GOS too
Great up to the moment review, I'm glad u kinda finished all this mess on the internet about this GOS , my opinion that GOS is one good software, as long as keeping good battery power consumption, and reduce the device temperature not only this but also i see no difference between GOS ON AND OFF in performance, at least by human eye , why all the hate for this GOS , I REALLY HAVE NO IDEA !!!! keep up ur good work buddy
The hate is not towards the GOS but towards the Samsung for not being transparent about this from the start. Though people might have understood the importance of GOS now.
Have you tried this with the blackshark Fun Cooler?
So basically what you mean is that GOS on and off are almost the same thing. Is this the case only for Genshin Impact or with other high graphics games as well ? Will a cooler one will have different performance (better) and a better temperature with GOS off ? Are the cases that you showed are same for SD? I will be grateful if you demonstrate these questions in a video of yours
About the 10 FPS, sometimes GPU watch is looking the fps on thehome screen, and not on the game. Try to go on the quick bar, hide icons, and turn on again with the game opened already
No its fake had 2 Samsung phones, both fps tested with the laptop, after doing what you said it lies for 8fps more than actual fps.
on A52S 778g its the same thing. gpuwatch always shows higher fps graphs. there is even significant difference i performance between play store and samsumg store versions. the play store gives always better fps. I have A52 too and 720g performs better with galaxy store version. while as always gpuwatch shows higher fps.
SD 778g was more efficient and it is better than the previous flagship processer which is 860 even in gaming test. The GPU performance also almost the same with 860
Yes you are right apps on galaxy store more optimised than in google playstore
I can't find "Labs" in Game booster settings after the update. Any fix?
I actually had to use external cooler just to cool down the phone and prevent thermal throttling.
When will it come out for snapdragon version?
Huge thx for dis video. Very informative! :Đ
Is this patch coming for other devices as well, or is it exclusive to the S22 series?
I got updated my s22ulta today, but in pubg mobile graphic is the same. Smooth - high , no extreme
Could you please make a cooler comparison?
I purchased S22 Ultra for my gaming to post on youtube, especially New state. It was a very disappointing experience. The graphics were very poor compared to its Specs. I had to resell it to someone else at a very low price to buy iPhone 13 pro Max. It is 1000 times better than s22 for gaming
New state looks better on ios, but new state devs are Optimizing it for s22 ultra
can you try on low settings if the game doesn't improvement the issue from genshin impact
CPU throttling on the device is too much.
Tbh, I think they should've fit the Exynos 2200 into an 8 inch-tablet that can house a cooler so that it can be used to its full potential because, it's pretty much a waste of power when you have an RTX chip on a phone but mobile games don't support it.....atleast, mobile game devs under big companies, other mobile games from indie companies have support for 120fps which is something even CODM doesn't have.
now we must find a way to disable throttling
It's called rooting which isn't advised because Samsung will disable certain things if you do that.
what is the tool you use to measure the FPS and power consumption?
Samsung is again trying to show s22 from the worst side?
hey do you have a review on s22+ snap dragon gen 1 on genshin? I heard it works better compared to s22 ultra?
It is ridiculous to turn off GOS if you don't have an external cooler.
These new flagship level chips are pure trash . Only reliable chip till now is sd 870
Can you do gos off with a cooler? I bet the performance will be much higher. (I currently game heavily with my S21ultra SD variant, with my gos off and a cooler and the performance is wayy better than with gos on and the cooler). In other apps though there's no difference with gos on or off.
I dont get it wasnt it over 40 avg fps when you did the netguard method
Is gos disabled for 3rd party apps by default after the update? Or does the button from Labs in game booster disable gos for both games and 3rd party apps?
I hope they do other upgrade in the time to optimize another time the performance of the exynos 2200
The good news is, you get pretty much an extra 10 fps on real world use while using less power than if it were "real fps".
with the "fake fps" included or the feature disabled completely, I'd say it's pretty similar to the iphone albeit the higher power consumption
I do agree samsung needs to improve their processor manufacturing game tho, not necessarily in peak performance, more so in efficiency and heat generation
@@asher5455 agree with you
This is no different from iphones. Even with the latest one with apple's latest chip. It will eventually throttle after playing genshin for a while. Modern phones are just too tightly packed and there is not enough space to disperse the heat. Only gaming phones with active cooling (fans) can overcome this limitation.
Well we need to w8 for better optimalization.. at least we can wish for..
For me when i disabled GoS, the lag and fps got worse....
i do have less lag with gos on.
I'm just glad they are after fixing this
Now after the update may we should watch another battery drain test
Will this improve performance on offline games tooo.
Sick
I mean we can tweak the settings a bit to get 50-60 fps , even in real life mostly people won't play at highest settings everyday bcz it will result very high battery drain , highest settings + GOS off is only good with a cooler bcz then i think you can get 40+ avg fps 😚✌🏻
Do you think it's a good idea to jump from poco F3 to galaxy s21 FE?
Did exynos fixed video stabilisation ?
