Boeing 777-9X First Flight (4K Slideshow)

The First Flight of any new commercial aircraft model is a rare occurrence. On the morning of January 23, 2020 Boeing announced their newest 777 wide body, the larger 9X model, would make that attempt. It was not to be with winds exceeding the maximum speeds allowed. A disappointing end for the many thousands who endured hours of cold, wet and winds.
A 2nd attempt was scheduled the following morning (01:54). Moments after starting its take-off roll, Boeings' newest aircraft leapt into the air using only a short portion of the 2-mile-long runway. The start of this model's flight test program had now begun, and I was fortunate enough to experience plane spotting in its most rewarding fashion.
