It’s actually really interesting you won’t have to wait for your teammates in the raid battles! I can already SEE the chaos.
Just grab a group of friends to coordinate a hyper beam at the same time
I can absolutely bet that it won’t be optimized at launch. Can’t wait to see the crash montages
@@donovanjoseph737 i don't think that will happen. I'm sure they will only show you yours. like in the trailer, we don't see the hyperbeam montage just the effect.
It will make playing the raids offline easier you don't have to wait for the useless AI teammates
I can already see the lag
I was just thinking, it would be even cooler for open world if there was more than 8 gyms. In the original pokemon anime, they mentioned that there were more than 8 gyms but you only needed to collect 8 to go to the pokemon league. If they had more than 8 gyms, and you could choose which 8 to do, that would increase the replayability.
That's because kanto and johto region were right next to eachother and shared the same Pokémon league
This is what I've been thinking for quite some time. Make every gym for every type but only require 8 badges to be eligible to fight E4 and the champion. This will also reinforce the exploration theme.
I think this will sound like botw where you didn't need to complete every single shrine to be strong enough to pull out the Master Sword.
@@rifatbobos yeah, that would be awesome. Then way more fun to replay the game afterward.
@@nnightkingj While this is correct, this isn't at the same time. That's not how he got his badges. If you look at his badges he only has 3 (this could be 2) badges from Kanto. He had gotten 7 (Possibly 8) badges that weren't from any of the gym leaders we know about.
@@nnightkingj This has long been proven. In the X and Y series, there's an episode where Ash and I forgot the name of the Sceptile trainer showed each other their badges. There are badges there that are not available in the XY games.
Love how they’ve kept the open world nature of Arc and brought back the traditional gym challenges
Wonder if they'll bring back contests back too. And not the garbage in BDSP.
Edit: I wish for contests so I can be like Ruby in the Adventures manga.
@@nkyfong yeah the originals were so much better
And you can do the gyms in any order I’m pretty sure
@Repent and believe in Jesus Christ Your telling people in the comments of a Pokémon video to repent? Don’t you think there are other RUclips videos with comment sections filled with degeneracy that could use some repenting? I think we are good in this corner of the internet but appreciate your concern. Cheers 👍
@Repent and believe in Jesus Christ All hail ARCEUS!!!!
I gotta admit I was very very sceptical, but I am very happy to see they expand on features like playing with friends and open world. Also love that they FINALLY let us walk our own route, and decide which gyms to take on. This is a great step towards the future of pokemon.
The views and likes are lower than I expected after being out for a week, hope that it sells well
This is clipped from the 8/3/22 digest, so you can find all the reactions over there 👍
Skeptical pronounced like sceptile?
this is not a great step, the game looks completely dull and lifeless. The series continues to lose more and more of it's original charm with every release.
@@goblin6914 that's your opinion dude. We, on the other hand, all love how it looks so far
What's cool about new poison Wooper is that its mutation makes sense, as some of the "Johtonain" Wooper's dex entries mentioned it coating itself with a toxic film when walking on land.
the only cool thing i like about wooper is that he is black now XD
Nice attention to detail!
And the hardened gills making its head look like a skull and crossbones--poison typing
A lot of regional forms make sense in the context of Pokémon. Some are nods to previous information we had before or concept art.
Basically half of all of the Pokedex entries of OG Wooper mention its poisonous film. So much so that one of its basic abilities in Pokemon: Tabletop United is Poison Point!
I like the idea of having three different stories to follow. the first one being the gym challenge. The second one seems to be the treasure hunt. And the third one might be the regional evil team.
And I like that you can do them all at once one at a time or switch back-and-forth between them
That’s how it is in every game though.
One could just be completing the pokedex though
@@slackjaw2643 no, in every game you’re forced down a set path and have to experience everything at a set time whether you want to or not
@@slackjaw2643 it depends on how they do it in these. You’re right, but you have to follow the story and timeline that the game wants you to do. Hopefully this is truly pick and choose.
Going off Mr. K's leaks, it's probably the past and future stories of Paldea. Mr. K was the one who posted photos of, among other things, the Terastal Phenomenon, Penny, and Grusha. Kotaku even did an article on it. "Paldean Wooper" is probably "Future Paldean Wooper," going off its description.
I’m so happy to see both Gogoat and Donphan making a return to the regional Pokédex.
It's been way too long since we've seen donphan outside of johto period (though if nothing else it proves how rare it actually is)
We could get national dex back it hasn’t been confirmed or denied yet
Who knows, maybe Donphan will even get an evolution to go with that of its old counterpart, Ursaring.
@@burnv06 we better. That and bringing back mega evolutions would be these games only saving graces
@@mlpfanboy1701 pokemon fans when the stat boost button that changes a mon's design doesn't return
I think someone already said this but but would be cool if the levels of tye gyms scaled with how many badges you have and it would change thier team depending on how many badges you have so you can truly pick which one to do first
Here’s some explanation for those who’re interested. Paldea comes from the Spanish word “aldea” which means village or hamlet, and the p is either for Pokémon or “pals”. Cetitan gets its name from titan and cetaceans, the scientific term for whales and porpoises. And finally terastilization likely comes from the Spanish word “terraustral”, which means earthbound, which does kinda go along with the crystalized motif.
Aldea is Portuguese as well as Uva. Naranja isn't, that one is 'laranja' in Portuguese, but yeah,
Tera also fits, since previous gimmicks include *Mega* Evolution and GIGAntamax

Maybe it’s because i haven’t played a full fledge game in ages but i am honestly so hyped for scarlet and violet, i love the character designs, the storyline’s have a whole bunch of potential, the pokémon that we’ve seen so far are great, sprigatito is perhaps my favourite starter designed ever and while i’m not rlly used or bothered by raids or the strengthening gimmick this year round, i am still very excited for multiplayer
So many particle effects. Can't wait for all the frame dips!
I think Koraidon's frontal fur is not supposed to be a wheel. It's just there to resemble one. Since it's an organic pokemon and not a mechanical one, that can't really rotate like a wheel since it doesn't have a hub.
Which means Rhydon, who can spin its horn when performing horn drill, is more advanced than Koraidon
The website confirms it acts as a flotation device.
You are thinking in a way like pokemon games follow logic with pokemon design haha. I chose scarlet BECAUSE it's derpy run animation lol
Yeah, it's more like an anole lizard's dewlap-it's an inflatable sac, not an actual wheel.
I was thinking that the frontal fur wheels were meant to provide traction when Koraidon is sprinting or climbing walls. You know, like tennis shoes.

Cetitan is so dang weird, definitely the most unique Gen 9 'Mon we've seen so far! Slush Rush and Thick Fat are great Abilities as well, hoping they can see some play with perhaps a Tera Steel Form! I do sincerely wonder if they'll have a dolphin pre-evo.
Also, how is nobody talking about 3:29? We got a dumb photo mode!!!!!! I love stuff like that! Alola Photo Club 2 baybeeeeeee!!!!!
Nah the legendary tech one is more unique
@@mattc236 Not really considering one of the themes being past and future so Koraidon havibg a primitive aspect with traditional tires and scales makes sense. With Koraidon, they're futuresque with electricity shooting out and bring machine/technological like, symbolizing the presumed future.

If Pokemon was released on all platforms, these games would be #1 in the world.. probably.

Love this so much, really looking forward to a lot of gameplay even if the secondary plot lines inevitably require a dlc, really interested in the open world aspect and super excited for a more mega evolution style pokemon boost as opposed to z moves
Terastals mechanics and open world sound wicked cool but I'm mostly here for Professor Turo who's looking hella fine.
Professor Turo is great.
Instead of these crystal things of other gimmicks, I really wish they just stood with mega evolutions and continued to make more cool forms for pokemon. That was such a cool concept and created some amazing looking pokemon. These crystal crowns all look the same :(
I'm incredibly saddened by the crystals I loved what I was seeing till that, and yeah mega was the bomb.
Im saddened by your comment, I also love mega evolution but I also love that they bring a new gimmic every time like z moves, dynamaxing, gigantimaxing, strength /agility moves and noble Pokémon, I actually LOVE these crystal forms, they’re unique and I really like the shandlier above their heads, can’t wait to hunt for terastilize form with different types, not to mention if mega evolution was introduced over and over, I think all the new Pokémon games should have mega evolution as a standard and then a new gimmic as well
They are the same
Good point. I miss gimmicks. They are cool. I thought dynamaxing was great in the Galar games. It was a happy mix of mega evolution and Z moves. Pokemon get big, and some change forms like mega evolution. They also make big attacks like Z moves. I thought this was great at least from a spectacle standpoint. There are kaiju Pokemon nuking each other. Awesome. The new crystal gimmick is cool too. Maybe in the future there can be a gimmick of crystallized kaiju Pokemon nuking each other. One can definitely hope.

was swsh fun in thefirst place?
I’m exited for this new region. I think this may be the first Pokémon game where the legendary is found at the start of the game, rather than at the end of the game.
We really did not need another gimmick clone of mega evolution in battling. What we really needed is a variety of difficulty options so people that are long time fans have a challenge when playing this game. Also another battle frontier would definitely make me more interested in this game
Nonono, you heard the designers. Apparently we don't want a game that requires thought or provides challenge. Also, we apparently want EXP share to be mandatory.
I thought you (the fans) wanted mage evolution back while also talking about about how shit mega evolution is

I know people have gripes with koraidons wheels not moving, but I think the idea here is that both the legendaries are trying to mimmick a motercycle in their own way. Miraidon being a robot can do it no problem while koraidon probably only can mimic the look but not the actual function
Kind of like the "cars" in the Flintstones.
people are stupid. it's clear what is happening.
Still looks stupid
It's also possible that those wheels things are just floating devices as pokemon mentions on their website 🤷♂️
Miraidon is meant to represent an age where transportation was powered by self, not machine.
I’m hoping for some character customization like hair and accessories. I’m not a big fan of the school uniform but I like the independent study concept.
According to the website there are only four uniform options to choose from. You also have additional eye and mouth customizations.
Well if we’re restricted to school uniforms (I’m hoping for post-game clothing options), I’m glad there’s more variety in eyes and mouths, alongside hairstyles and skin color.
If you look at 3:29 they are wearing different outfits, jackets, hats and all sorts. So there will be clothes stores for sure, they would be FOOLISH to remove something like that when they've working so hard to make changes in the right direction.
Come on guys it’s a Pokémon game, ofc there will be customization
@@SirFoxbutt They were already foolish to remove half the monster count from USUM going forward.
I’m loving these open world games it’s making me feel like I’m in the actual show
From what it looks like it we’ll be getting the legendarys early to mid game
The only thing I'm not really crazy about is the Terastal mechanic. The idea is interesting (kind of like Hidden Power with a few buffs), but the visuals that go with it aren't doing it for me. They just get a crown and an overcoat of crystal, and that's it. The area where you fight raids look pretty cool, though.
I agree. Also, I can't pronounce "Terastalize," lol
Terastallization is for evry pokemon, so of course they can't give every pokemon some grandiose and bombastic design like the megas or gigantamax. Think dynamax, where each one just got bigger, but this has some more style in it!
It’s just another gimmick to get us through the generation. I’m not crazy about but also don’t care that much

I love koraidon having wheels and not using them.
At 02:00 the voice over lady refers to the Pokemon professors, Sada and Turo as "research legends passed on"...
So that kind makes me think that they're either dead or no longer the current pokemon professors
If you analyze their appearances and names you'll see that their names are shortened words for the Spanish words for Past and Future respectively and their outfits are of that of a caveman and scientist.... So my personal theory is that through some accident or something :
Prof. Sada was sent back into the past
While
Prof. Turo was sent well into the future
And due to that inconvenience we won't actually get to meet them but instead receive some sort of video message from them some way, some how.
That explains why we don't actually see any scenes of the trainer interacting with the Professors in the trailers like we do for Namona or clevell
Just a theory.... A GAME THEORY!!!
A non-linear pokemon gym journey has me very excited! Not sure how any sort of level scaling will apply but I'm open minded :D
there is no scaling sadly :/
There isn't any level scaling. From the website "There is no set path to the Gyms. You can purposefully seek out a stronger Gym Leader" and confirmed by leakers with the beta version weeks ago.
@@randomnessocity Your pokemon have levels and stats which are based on their level, so how does that come in to play in these battles? Is a level 10 arcanine the same as level 50? Do these gyms just have pokemon with set stats or increased HP? What determines what a "stronger Gym Leader" means?
No scaling I'm afraid
@@Bradbradhehe I'm not even sure what you're trying to ask. Brock is an early gym leader with a level 12 and a level 14 pokemon, meanwhile Giovanni has a team of 5 with levels between 42 and 50.
I assume, based on the wording and what the leaks have said, you can go fight the level 40+ gym leader in this game first and then go back and crush the lower level gym leaders after.
We can assume that the levels, stats, number of pokemon, etc. do not change in weaker gyms because there is no scaling.

I am so excited for these games. I had somewhat low hopes considering the past few games (save for Legends Arceus) but these trailers look AMAZING

Karaidon: yabba dabba do!
I didn’t think people would take so much issue with Koraidon‘s “wheels” not being used like Miraidon’s wheels, so I want to mention two things. The website mentions it’s “wheel” is used as a floatation device when swimming and not for driving like Miraidon. I also speculate that it will help it climb up mountains seeing the spikes on it and the conformation of climbing in the game.

2:35 Gotta say, Wilma flinstone leaving Fred to become a Pokémon trainer is pretty cool.
The website implies that you can do the gyms in any order, but there's an actual proper order to do them in. I believe the solution should be that the pokemon in the wild, and the gyms, should scale based off of the number of badges obtained. This concept isn't foreign to gamefreak. In BDSP's underground the wild pokemon's encounters and levels changed based off badge. If this sort of system is implemented this game would truly feel like an open world game, in the "Champion rank story" sense at least.
This is also how the Wild Area in SwSh worked.
It doesn't seem like scaling will took place. At least from the wording on the website it sounds like yes, you can do the gyms in any order but they have a set difficulty and leveling that's always the same

I don’t get why people don’t like koraidon just because the things on it’s chest and it’s tail don’t act as wheels. Personally it makes me love it more cuz it makes it look more derpy and funny when it runs in my opinion
Same. I love Koraidon because of it.
A lot of lizard species have inflatable throat flaps or sacs for mating and/or territorial displays. It makes sense that a big lizard legendary would have an impressive throat sac. The fact that Miraidon's is used as a wheel and Koraidon isn't doesn't mean Koraidon is poorly designed, just that the people complaining never seen a lizard before.
And it makes sense because he is the opposite of Miraidon the futuristic one. Koraidon using its legs instead of “wheels” is almost like a Flintstones Reference 🤣
I’ve seen people equate it to how the Flintstones powered their vehicles with their feet, which is a great and charming comparison! When I first saw the Legendary Pokémon, I liked Koraidon the best. After this Pokémon Presents, I still do! Just need to see some version exclusives before I make the final choice! I always buy both games, but I have to decide which one gets played first! 😄
All nintendo had to do is make the red one hold the same position the violet one do. Hands on tires and tires spin. Since it move it seem more like a creature than a robot. Like toxic crock tall form with the ball on his chest.
Koraidon and Miraidon are like the Pokemon version of Transformers. :)
And that Terastral mechanic, when the Pokemon use it, they look like crystal glass sculptures. :)
2:20 For a trainer who isnt good at battling his pose and expression for what looks to me his pose for battle. He's quite fired up almost as if he's anticipating this battle of what he has to say 🤔.
Sorta reminds me of somebody with that big backpack of his..
I wasn''t to hype at first, BUT NOW IT SOUNDS AWESOME!
I hope we get the legends at the very beginning of the game. That’s what it’s looking like. It’s a very unique change that I’d love to see. Instead of only getting the legend in the dramatic end of the game when you’ve proven yourself worthy or something, you start your journey with them, growing closer together along your adventure. I also love that you can ride them
I doubt it. I bet you can’t actually battle with it until you reach the end of the game. Until then, they’ll probably be used solely for transportation.
@@t-real9054 that’s probably more likely, unfortunately. Still, it’d be really cool if we had them at the beginning of the game. Maybe we’d get them at lower levels and they only reach legendary strength when they get to higher levels? It’d just be cool if they felt more like your partner rather than the thing you get at the end of the game
no having the legendaries from the start is stupid. whats the point of a pokemon game without a dramatic final battle
Reminds me of Arceus' pokemon mounts where they are pokemon you can call for flying, surfing, etc. But not for battling
@@roboatelemon69 the dramatic final battle will be elite 4 though
Never thought I see the day where a legendary Pokémon was an actual car, but then again, we have Pokémon made of keys.
Motorcicle and it isn't one literally, just looks like one.
I love Klefki tbh.
I like how people mention Klefki as if it's a weird thing to base a Pokemon on and then forget we had Pokemon based on magnets and eggs since the beginning.
FINALLLYYYY We can do something other than fight gyms! I've been waiting for this ever since I got into Pokemon!
This looks very promising, bringing new concepts along old ones is something bright for the future of pokemon. For exemple, the *very* open world wich let you choose your playstyle and the multiplayer are very nice addings. Also, the fact that the gyms, companions and overall the look of the few new pokemons are things from the old gens that are very great. Like it was said, you kept the best and added some new concepts that seems very fun. Cant wait to try it out! Also, about the legendaries. Of course we have seen in Legend Arceus that we NEED vehicules in an open world... But the legendaries? Honestly its quite cool, but it maybe means that we're gonna need to get them early in the game to actually travel on it... Im open about it because they look pretty good, specially Koraidon (the red one), but I also feel like getting the legendaries was an accomplishment, that could be done not so early... Lets see
The Paldea is definitely going to be a favorite map of mine. Can't wait to challenge the Paldea Gyms and explore the giant Paldea Region with my friends.
Also, gonna challenge Grusha's gym first his design is pretty cool.
I think Grusha’s a guy
Pretty sure Grusha is a woman, correct me If I'm wrong. Also, she's pretty far away, so I'll personally be waiting till last for her :)
Edit: He's a man!!!
the gyms don't have scaling
@@manchovies2476 he’s a guy on the website I’ve heard!
Im just hoping its one big map instead of in seperate bits like arceus
I’m just glad to see my dudes Houndour and Houndoom coming back to bring the pain.
And now that I’ve developed an unexplainable fondness for Alcremie, I want that little goof to make it into these games too.
Also, for the love of god please show Raichu some love for once.
Raichu got an Alolan forme, psychic/electric
@@talkingcure True but I do get his point
We got Flying Pikachu
Surfing Pikachu
12 different types in GO
A Gigantamax form
A Unique Item
@@1stCallipostle well,I mean, Pikachu is the face of Pokémon
"For once"? It's always received love.
I genuinely want a team of desserts. We’ve got Alcremie, Slurpuff, Vanillite, and Fidough. I need two more!
Tera types seem so badass and awesome can’t wait!!
Can't wait for these games. Getting one of them for Christmas.
Koraido is giving me Flintstones vibes with the whole wheels but running
I can't wait for this game I'm so excited! I haven't decided which starter to chose tho until I see their evolutions!
What keraidon looks like when he jumps up (not in running form) is the best way to have his wheel-looking anatomy. It’s there but doesn’t look ridiculous…
I am so excited for this!!
miraidon has such an amazing design!! I LOVE the eyes so much
It would look beautiful to have slowking and xernias with their tera form - that means better looking crown.
Koraidon and Miraidon: Legendaries and Mythicals have already been somewhat devalued with unimpressive events (Calyrex being more of a return to form), and now you’ll have one from the start of the game? I’m somewhat joking, since I assume it’s just for transport, but still. And yeah, why the heck does Koraidon have giant wheels that it doesn’t use? Even if they’re for floating, they’re active when when walking, they look big enough to get in the way of walking, and the missing tail looks awkward. And Miraidon totally looks like a Protogen >w>.
Story: Well, for once we actually have kids in school instead of wandering off on their own! (Semi-joking again.) Not a fan of the school uniforms though; our MCs look silly. The three different storylines sound interesting, though I guess we’ll have to wait and see what the other stories are, how they interact with each other, and how the others differ in gameplay. And the open-world nature of the gym storyline is promising after Legends Arceus knocked it out of the park.
New Pokemon: Cetitan is definitely cool (even if it looks like it should fall forward any moment), and Fidough is adorable; I remember when I heard about Lechonk and Smoliv that I thought whoever came up with those names was seriously taking the piss at that point, but Fidough is just goofy and silly enough as a concept to be cute. And Sprigatito is still my favorite as a cat person ^w^, but seeing Quaxly spiffing up like that has definitely endeared myself to him.
Terastalizing: Looks like this is the new gimmick; I’d rather we keep old gimmicks like Mega Evos, but this looks interesting. Totally changing a mon’s type definitely sounds like it can throw things for a loop. Honestly could be more impressed with the designs, though; I’ve seen some interesting designs for crystallized Pokemon (like a Weavile with pointy red crystals for the hair and claws), and the giant ring-pop crowns look rather silly in comparison. Even if there isn’t enough time to design a unique model for each Pokemon (which, considering you own fakkin’ POKEMON, you clearly can afford the manpower and time to make them; come on, GameFreak, haven’t you learned from the halfassery in Sword and Shield?), I’d think an elemental aura surrounding the Pokemon could be made to look a lot cooler.
Tera Raids: Like the concept and continuing the raids; not using turns could be interesting and lead to some nice tactics, though we’ll have to see how they work.

IS THAT A JOJO REFENCE
I'm actually super excited about there being no set order to gyms. I HOPE this means the later ones we try are higher levels so it's always getting harder.
This definitely looks like something I'd love to try out since I haven't played the last two entries in the series.
Also the Pokédex being a library with books representing each entry is a lovely design.
no level scalling, X gym from Y town will always have the same level and pokemons, it's in the video "purposely fight STRONGER gyms first", that wording already confirms the leak.
@@Nobody-su9km Or possibly meaning you can fight the gyms that are seemingly harder because of your types first, excited to see!
4:32 Top left there is a mouse cursor
Having no set path is going to open up so many new possibilities- you can actually feel like you're in the world of Pokémon as a character, instead of just a real person sitting in your home playing a video game
5:30 Interesting that we see those 3 Pokémon use the same move here, I'm not sure if there's currently a move that all 3 of those Pokémon can learn. Perhaps there's a new move that any Pokémon can learn, and the type of it depends on the Pokémon's Tera type.
if it works like gigantamax or z-moves from the last two games there is only gonna be one "tera move" for each type with a handful of unique move for special pokemon
I was right, as we now know about the move Tera Blast that's initially a normal-type move that changes to their Tera Type.
I can't wait to challenge the Paldea Gyms and explore the big Paldea Region 😁😁
I’m Gonna OWN The Gym Leaders For Sure ..
Bootlicker
4:30 There is a cursor on the top left.
They forgot to turn on “hide cursor” in OBS!
The Pokémon have started to evolve to fit our needs
This looks great. I'm so excited!
Finally the crystal Onix makes sense. 😂
2:31 Hello everybody, my name is markiplier, and today, I've become a pokemon trainer.
2:55 lol love how they walk
Fidough is Awesome
I'm looking forward to this!
6:02 6:12 Is it just me that thinks Koraidon is really cute when it's roaring? I'm getting Scarlet for sure.
