Thank you for the tutorials and greeting s from the Netherlands. I have some questions. I try to write a text 1. where in one side is the timeline of events and on the other side descriptions . Eg 1789 (one left side) , French Reovlution and an attached description (right side). With columns doesn't work properly . Usually the content of the first column moves to the right one, whenever i try to add something. How do I solve that? 2. How the 2 separate "columns" can continue in next pages?. For example my timeline covers dates and events for 1000 year and i will needd around 4 or more pages with the same structure. 3. Meanwhile I must interrupt the "columns" the left one with the timeline and the right one with events, because i want to add a text or a source. In that case my whole formation is collapsing. I tried to use tables but the solution was not very welcoming. For sure I do many things wrong. So how can I interrupt my "columns" adding content and then continue the flow of my timeline? 4. I have big problem with the change of pages because whenever my the two columns must expand in the next page again the whole structure collapses. Also it is impossinle to add extra text in any of the columns without the structure failing. That was all my questions. Thank you for any possible help.
There are at least 2 ways of doing this: - inserting sections with columns, so for example, if you have 4 years with descriptions you will have 4 sections, and each section will have 2 columns - inserting taables with one row and 2 columns, so for example, if you have 4 years with descriptions you will have 4 similar tables, and each table will have 2 columns and 1 row, with no border
I'm glad this video is useful for doing something similar. Many have asked for a demo document, but the idea is to do it by yourself and learn. Styles are a vrey useful feature in LibreOffice.
i must say i followed all the way throw with 100% of what you did with obviously a different picture but even the same text , and it came out very different , you'rse some how looks better

@@LibreOfficestepbystep Thanks. But my problema didn't solve with that. My real problem is the table doesn't continue in the second page. Everything stays in the main page. I mean the table cut in the main page and the content don't pass to the other page
what are the criterias you use to change these numbers defining size at the beginning jumping from table properties and page style? I don't understand much
I think you are using Linux. What is the name of the photo editor that you used to get the number of the color for the image? Also can you please put the test of that sample demo CV so we can use it for training instead of writing the text of creating a demo text for training?
The photo editor is gThumb (version 3.12.2, it's a default one on Linux). About the text, I don't have it anymore. I create videos, and then I delete everything, except the video that I upload.

I have made an experiment now, if you add a shape and click inside and insert some text, the shape and text will move together. Is this the answer you need?
Worst software ever, I did use libre calc in the past, which was quite acceptable, but the writer and drawer softwares are completely useless. In drawer unable to position stuffs and my rulers randomly disappearing. Styling changes made in the wirter are inconsistent, again difficulties with positioning images, or separating them from the text (it's all a big a text element, so it's understandable).
I am trying to learn how to write a commentary. This is all new to me. You are going so fast, and not saying what you are doing, just suddenly you move here or there. It really defeats the purpose of teaching for someone like me, that is not at all versed in this. Again, I have never done anything like this, just basic text docs.
It's not a video for beginners, it's a little bit more than that. For simple things, search on this channel for specific things: How to add a comment, How to merge cells, so on...

How can i apply that orange colour theme in writer.... I'm using LO 24.2 in windows.
The orange theme is from the Linux I use. It's not LibreOffice specific. You need to use Linux to get that.

Hi, I wanted to use all the width of the page, so, the table is 100% of the width, which is 21 cm in an A4 page format.

No, the idea is to learn to do it yourself. Using LibreOffice.
Can you do this a little faster next time?
It's faster enough, especially for persons which are not familiar with styles in LibreOffice. For others there is 2x speed on RUclips. ;)

For working with images, you need to play with anchor (right click - properties - image - position and size). There are a lot of options for you.
