Here’s my top tips for saving money on food and drink when you’re at Universal Orlando:
1. Check what facilities your accommodation has 🏨
Find out whether your room has a a fridge, microwave or a kitchenette and see what your hotel has in its general areas (mine had a toaster and lots of condiments!) and compare it to staying in self catering accommodation.
2. Bring tupperware, cutlery & seasoning from home 🍴
This stuff is can add up when you’re having to buy it brand new - and can end up in landfill when you can’t fit bring it home!
3. Do a food shop 🛒
Whether you decide to nip to the shops or get a delivery to your hotel, you could save hundreds from this alone.
4. Split meals 🍽
If you do want to eat out, seek out those big American portions and share!
5. Refillable cups 🥤
Look at the refillable cups which you can load up at the Coca Cola freestyle machines (it’s not just coke - there’s loads of options). If there’s lots of you, why not take cups and bottles to share from this bottle?!
6. Water and ice is free! 🧊
And it’s nice and chilled too!
7. Bring your own squash 🍊
Game changer if you’re sticking to the free drink options
8. Buy a refillable popcorn bucket 🍿
A woman on one popcorn stall tells me she sees buckets from years ago as well so that’s good if you’re gonna revisit!

9. Food stalls offer cheaper food 🍲
I saw food for as cheap as £3.76 on these which is good if you just want to have a little hot treat.
10. Get $10 for free with a food and beverage card 💳
If you’re going to spend anyway, you may as well get free money!
11. Buy a souvenir cup for cocktails and then refill 🍹
Given that the 20oz refills are the same price as the 12oz cocktails, I think that’s a great money saving tip 😂
