    Pro-tip: After you have filled the paper tube with hot-glue, you can hide the edges of the paper, make the wand more sturdy, and give it the appearance of wood by hot gluing the entirety of the outside of the wand, then using the nozzle to spread the glue from the handle down towards the shaft or vice-versa. This creates a striation effect that you can make super intense and rough, or smooth and woody. You can also paint on top of this, which means that you can further control the design of the wand. If you're really good with hot glue and have the patience, you can even manage the elder wand and it's shape with this trick.

    Here's another way that doesn't require hot glue or chopsticks!
    1. Go outside and find a nice, sturdy stick and snap it to how long you want it.
    2. Come back inside and wash it thoroughly.
    3. Grab a knife (or just use your hand and peel) and cut the bark off.
    4. Get some sandpaper or a nail filer ( or continue using the knife) and scratch the stick to make it smooth and your desired shape.
    5. Grab a piece of paper, cut it in half the long way and roll it up and glue it so it stays rolled up.
    6. Wrap it around your stick in any design you want and glue it.
    7. Paint it in anyway you like.
    8. Enjoy!

  • @putanginamomaeanne
    @putanginamomaeanne 4 года назад +1

    Hello so i have a question
    Can my wand handle apparently be circular?
    I actually created a Half Dolores-Half Regular wand so basically if i can do that to my wand design how hard does it take to create?
    Thanks!

    • @BrendaSoto
      @BrendaSoto  4 года назад

      It's possible, requires patience/caution, and take maybe an hour or two to complete.
      If you intend the wand handle to be Dolores inspired, I wouldn't use an entire sheet of paper to roll the wand because I worry the circle handle would be too thick. I would stop maybe half way (4 rolls about), cut off the excess and tape or glue the paper down. Fill the cone with hot glue as best you can, then with the glue gun carefully lay rings of glue around the wand handle, let it set for a few seconds then keep layering until I have the desired roundness. With the residual heat of the glue gun, smooth out any imperfections. Once you're happy with the look, paint it. Hope this helps. Best of luck!

    I have a question how did you do the glue gun thing when you were showing your old wand where the design was complex

    • @BrendaSoto
      @BrendaSoto  Год назад

      Adding more or less pressure on the glue gun helps control the thinness/thickness of the glue lines. That's how I made that wand. Also I suppose if you're quick enough, using a toothpick or bobby-pin to guide the glue on the wand before it sets can help you make unique designs.

    • @Aarushpro0909
      @Aarushpro0909 Год назад

      No no I meant that when you were showing the thing you were doing the glue gun thing but the colour was coming out with the glue so how'd you do that

    • @BrendaSoto
      @BrendaSoto  Год назад

      It was a demonstration motion. The glue I used was clear then once it dried I painted over it with gold paint. Colored hot glue sticks do exist in stores and online - I suppose you could use those if you wanted to.

    • @BrendaSoto
      @BrendaSoto  4 года назад +5

      I'm not entirely sure but paper mache could work! You would have to work in layers and it would a few days to complete.
      First method: Add little bits of paper mache pieces into the cone and squish it down to make a solid layer, about one inch, then let it harden completely. After a layer is dry repeat the steps until the cone is filled.
      Second method: Fill the cone with crumpled pieces of paper or rolled up paper. Then wrap a layer of paper mache onto the outside of the cone (not inside the cone) and be sure to cover the cone opening too, let it harden completely (24 hours). Repeat the process of adding paper mache over the cone two more times (you can also cover the entire wand if you wish), letting each layer dry completely. This is to make sure the wand is sturdy enough.
      The wand design could also be completed with paper mache, layering bits as needed to create your desired look.

      You can roll some very thin pieces of paper up and use that for the outward 3d design and as she replied to a couple other comments, put paper maché inside for the strong base.
      I hope this helped you and anyone else reading!! 😋😁😌😉

    How many glue sticks spend on one wand?

    • @BrendaSoto
      @BrendaSoto  Год назад

      Probably half a glue stick, it’ll depend on the length it’s cut to.

      Regular glue or tape should hold the wand together. To fill it, try air-dry clay, papier-mâché, or foil.
      For the design, add a layer regular glue then stick on some thread on top, wait for it to dry then repeat as necessary to create your desired look. Once dry and set, paint it.

      LittleBoyJam123 X, I just used nail glue and on another i used lash glue it won't be as sturdy but you could probably just use liquid/stuck glue but if your filling in the back it'll take longer

      ChristineTEE TV So you can fill the back with just normal glue?

      Tape or regular glue can work to hold it together. Air-dry clay could work to fill the cone. For the design, regular glue and string or yarn of some kind.

      ✨a chance to be ultra creative with finding other materials to use!✨
      Paper can be dyed with coffee or tea and an old paint brush, makeup brush, or pencil can be used for the base
