    Note to self: Stop eating and/or drinking whilst listening to these. Way too much cleaning to do now.

    Probably the filthiest radio comedy show since Round the Horne.

    • @barblessable
      @barblessable 3 года назад +9

      Yes ,and it was aired Sunday lunchtimes on BBC Radio 4 , Ian Patinnson's writing made it more smutty and funnier, Jack Dee is chairman now and is fittingly curmudgeonly , long make it continue.

      Humph actually said that Kenneth Horne was a huge influence on him; the way he delivered his lines and such. 😊

      Thanks. That's really interesting. They are both still hilarious. Their wit and ingenuity are timeless.@@noonthumbs2644

    Anyone know what the "Herpes" joke was at the beginning of episode 3?

    • @m.j.nicholls
      @m.j.nicholls  2 года назад +6

      Probably "You wouldn't normally die of herpes. But you would if you gave it to Al Capone".

      @@m.j.nicholls
      I don't know. It led on from mention of Capone being in prison. It's probably an employee-screwing-the-boss's-wife-while-the-boss-is-away joke: "You did if you gave it to Al Capone's girlfriend!"

    I can't understand why the audience cheer so loudly for Mornington Crescent and I can't see anything funny in it.

      It's the genius of the final move, just sublime play.
