Rest In Peace. Countless hours watching her and Dennis anchor the broadcast.
Amen
😪💔
🙏🙏
Leslie Griffith was a consummate professional. During my first stint at KTVU in the 90s, my first chance to sit on the anchor desk was to fill-in for Leslie, who then solo-anchored weekends. They were big shoes to fill! She was professional, engaging, and adored by her audience. Leslie performed journalism the right way, focused on the story. She will forever remain part of a lengthy list of talent that made KTVU a destination station for news. RIP, Leslie.
Thank you so much for sharing your memories. I was also a fan of hers as well during her time with KTVU. May she rest in paradise.
What a beautiful tribute to your friend and coworker. She would most definitely be proud to call you a friend. Take care and be well, sir/ma'am RIP Miss Leslie
She was a professional. She didn't let politics define her, she just reported the news. She will be missed.

Remember watching her in the early 2000’s as a kid. Thank you for your service being a news anchor.
Who are you thanking? Leslie? She can't hear you
Same here . Condolences to the family I literally grew up watching her only 90’s babies would understand this .🙏🏾
Service? Haha
Any media workerks are clowns
@@frankiecast4897 her service for being a news anchor.
I remember driving on the bay bridge one day headed to Vallejo. I looked over to my right and saw her driving. I instantly recognized her and gave her a honk.
She looked over and gave me a huge smile with a wave.
Rest easy Leslie Griffith 🙏
I was just thinking of Leslie last week. She was the speaker at my high school graduation and seemed like a kind woman 💜
They say when you think of someone. It means that they either have died or they are still alive.
@@louie1086 I'll be damned..
@@louie1086 Sometimes when you think of a person, she/he is thinking of you.
I remember her 😢 I grew up watching Leslie and Dennis. RIP beautiful! you were my inspiration for pursuing journalism some years ago.
How sad. I grew up watching her and Dennis as well. May she rest in peace.
Born and Raised in The Bay you know for sure who she and Dennis was. RIP 🙏🏽
She and Dennis made a great team. I'm so sorry to hear that she's gone.😔
They hated eachother she was very unprofessional and didn't take her job seriously compared to her co anchor Dennis Richmond
@@Mr.Derogatory316 That's sad to hear. They seemed pretty good on screen.
I always thought she had so much class and always admired the way she kept herself on camera . Now hearing what Leslie Griffith pursued after the news with helping circus elephants and opening the eyes of people ,I knew I made the right choice in thinking she has class. Very sad news 😢 we will miss you !
Hi Kathleen how are you doing today
She was definitely a fixture in Bay Area news television. RIP
Oh this so heartbreaking. This brought tears to my eyes. I grew up watching her and heard she was the nicest person ever. She was so genuine and kind. She will be missed by so so many! Rest In Peace.
Grew up watching Leslie. She was in our home every night. Thank you for your professional consistency . Prayers for Leslie and her Family. The Bay Area loved you!
She will be missed.
I worked at KTVU many years ago. Leslie was always very gracious and charming to me and everyone around her. I'm sorry to hear that she passed away.
There seemed to be tension between Dennis and Leslie most of the time. What was up with that?
Thank you Leslie Griffith, Both you and Dennis Richtman were part of my life for quite a long time.
A 47 second sound bite is all that KTVU could do? I had the pleasure of working with Leslie in the newsroom but largely on the 10 o clock show with she and Dennis. Not enough adjectives to describe her kindness, compassion and consummate professionalism. These qualities came across to the viewers, but this was really her.Heartfelt condolences go out to her family as well as her family in the media.
No, when this was originally broadcast on Channel 2, they had an entire segment on Leslie with comments from former & current colleagues.
Definitely a person from child hood memory for me
Yup
this is heartbreaking. she was part of our family in the late 90s watching her broadcasting along side dennis
What a beautiful comment section. I didn't see a single negative post. Just shows what kind of person/anchor Miss Leslie was. Although I never saw her you can tell she respected by ALL her past coworkers as well. In today's society, y'all should feel proud for being GREAT human beings.
I love her. She’s been such a fantastic reporter and so relatable. I’m thankful for her beautiful life. Condolences to her family and friends.
Rest Easy.
Such a beauty.
Left California back in 98 , I remember watching her and Dennis Richmond. RIP
Oh wow, her and Dennis Richmond were fixtures of my childhood in the 90s and 2000s. Consummate professionals and warmth entering your living room every night when they came on.
Her and Dennis Richmond were the end of our day, each day. Delivering the news professionally, without editorializing. My deepest sympathies to her family.
I send my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Leslie Griffith. She was the best anchor and reporter the Bay Area has ever seen. May she rest in peace.
Hi Carol how are you doing today
I remember when Elaine Corral abruptly left KTVU 2, Leslie was promoted to her position to co-anchor with Dennis Richmond. She really stepped up, and had quickly proven to the audience that she was a top talent, and a warm personality. She will be missed.
do you know why Elaine left so abruptly?
@@gregh7457 The left her anchor job to go into acting. She has an IMDB page (Under the name Elaine Corral Kendell) and it has 9 acting credits, many of which occurred while she was still working at KTVU 2 and where her portraying a Newscaster/Reporter.. She has no other acting credits past 2003, and only one of those was something different than Newscaster/Reporter.
RIP. I live in northern California (Eureka) but my dad's family is from Richmond. Since I was born KTVU was our go to news station at 5,6 and 10pm 7 days a week. My heart goes out to her family of blood and her KTVU family.
KTVU had an exceptional news department in the 1990s. And also an incredible reach.
Even tho Humboldt has its own local channels, I'm sure KTVU was carried on the cable system and that's how you watched it.
I remember seeing it in Monterey. On MPTV cable it was channel 2, with the local Fox affiliate on 3.
Then living in northern LA county with mountainous terrain and bad TV reception, I watched KTVU daily on the now defunct Primestar satellite service (channel 40).
Nostalgia., Will miss you on your telecast news!
Wow I left SF 20 something years ago but I still remember her. God Bless you my friend. ❤️🙏❤️🙏
20 years ago paided $479,000 for my house, now it's $1,800.000 in San Francisco
Nooooo. I grew up watching the news with her and Dennis Richmond. R.I.P. You will be missed.
I live in the Central Valley now but I grew up watching her on the news. RIP Leslie 🙏
She is so beautiful, how sad 😔 May angels be with you always
She was such a sweet soul. I watched her coming up. Thoughts to her family.
Loved Leslie Griffith.
She was Sincere. 💛
Rest in peace Mrs Griffith.
Dennis Richmond and Leslie Griffith were consummate professionals. I miss them. Dave McElhatton and Pete Wilson, too. With other anchors, the fake camaraderie, butting egos, and ambitious angling for national network positions were obvious. Ms. Griffith was a pleasant and reliable presenter of good news and bad, and she will always be a part of Bay Area news history.
You took the words right out of my mouth. Their no nonsense delivery of the news was so refreshing. My condolences to her family.
@@tonyvaradaraj1424 I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and I remember very well Van Amburg, Jerry Jensen on ABC 7 KGO San Francisco. Also Stan Borman, Lynn Joiner, Dave McElhatten, Wendy Tokuda on KPIX CBS 5, KRON had Terri Lowery. Those were the days. There was also The Tuck/Fortner report on KTVU 2 which was a local news version of Huntley & Brinkley.
@@frankdenardo8684 Jerry Jensen should've been the anchor.
Rip.
0:43 I need look up what's Lyme diseases and what's the best prevention.
What does Lyme disease do to a person?
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection you get from the bite of an infected tick. At first, Lyme disease usually causes symptoms such as a rash, fever, headache, and fatigue. But if it is not treated early, the infection can spread to your joints, heart, and nervous system. Prompt treatment can help you recover quickly.

I'm very sorry to hear about her passing, for I watch her countless times while I lived in San Francisco from 1980 until I left in 2013 to live in North Carolina. Rest In Peace. 😪😪😪

It like hearing your mother past .
She was there in the morning before school and at night before bed ...... so sad ............ thank you for everything !!!
I have a fond memory of her and my bother breaking into my neighbors backyard for a story in mid 2001. I was surprised how short she was in person. She gave me her card which I still have in my filing cabinet. RIP

Hello ladydi4runner how are you doing today
Sadened by this news, we're no longer in the Bay Area, but this GentleLady was a staple for us...RIP, gone but never forgotten...
Even tho I never lived in SF, I remember watching her on the 10 o'clock news.
KTVU was the Fox affiliate carried by the Primestar satellite service for rural customers unable to get OTA reception.
All of the news department of KTVU in the 90s was outstanding. But Leslie was a class act and professional journalist.
I also remember watching the "Mornings On 2" show.
OMG i grew up her telling me the News REST in PEACE. SAD SHE IS THE BEST NEWS BROADCAST
I loved her as a child- this headline and clip is disheartening. I can’t believe this - how insensitive to her family and those who appreciate her service.
Passed away….. she has passed away let me say it for you KTVU. May God Rest her beautiful soul.
I agree, very distasteful. They did that for clicks.
I remember her when I used to live in the Bay Area. Wish I was back there.
Her presence in news coverage was trust worthy. She was a reporter with character & grace.... thank u Leslie....rest in peace....
Passed away......show some respect.
Ok idiot

She was one of my favorite anchors.
I remember her well from years back. R.I.P🙏

Lyme disease?! Never heard of anyone dying from Lyme disease before. I've spent a lot of time throughout the hills around here, and have studied nursing.
Condolences to all family and friends. RIP.
They didn't really say that lyme disease was the cause of death...only that she struggled with it over the years.
Maybe she had one too many shots that contributed to her death.
She raised me along with Dennis. Rest in peace 😔
Man I had a big crush on her. She was so beautiful and my favorite anchor woman.
I remember her in my childhood years. Bay area resident here. RIP.
So remember her. Lived in the ba a long time. Sad to hear of her passing. Well done journalist and anchor. Won't be soon forgotten. RIP
