We ALSO shouldn’t be influencing people to be skinny. Anorexia nervosa and bulimia are BOTH mental health issues. There are unhealthy skinny people out there and healthy fat people. What he said is true. I feel for her and understand where she is coming from. I have weight issues too, but I acknowledge that obesity is a disease and that it is curable. It is different from race, gender, and sexual preference in two major ways. There is something wrong with it, and the person who has it can change it. I remember this crap in school.. and this was less than 2 years ago. I’m underweight and I remember being told to eat more. I hate how people think they can judge anyone based on appearances. I did too girl. Thing is, having people like this on the news, having young impressionable kids watch and realize "oh it's okay to be fat?" Is not good. It's the same thing with obese models and the fat acceptance movement.
My life is dreadful, and my mental state only has gotten worse, all due to me getting fat, losing it, but dealing with the issues that resulted in it.

@@lavendermilk3010 I'm obese ( with some muscle as well) I used to be in good shape and let myself go because of several reasons unfortunately .I have to say people like this man that clearly was disrespectful and don't know how hard it is to lose weight especially as you age or hes fat himself lol .Losing weight too fast can lead to eating disorders , regaining all the weight you lost , and lastly it's just not healthy .

@@perilflower as an Asian, my parents tease me and my brother on weight a lot, but since we already have an established social code, we understand it isn’t deeply critical. It really depends on how the father teaches their children the moral code, because sometimes being overweight is a problem. Just depends how you tell it to your child

I agree that it is NOT okay what that man did. It was downright evil. He doesn’t care about her health. However, no one has the power to shame you. You CHOOSE to accept their comment as proof that you are not okay. I dislike the term shaming because we can opt out of accepting their projection onto us. You see, HE loathes himself.
