- In this video, I recreate a micro granny square top I saw at the clothing brand KOTN. I absolutely loved the top and wanted to try crocheting it myself. In the end, it took 3 months, 120 granny squares and 300+ ends. (:

I have watched a lot of videos about the "Taylor Swift" dress and one person got in touch with the company who created it, they asked about the labour costs compared to item price and were told basically the dress is made in parts by several people and sewed together by another, so you can't compare it to hand made really. It's a cop out in my view, these people are making crochet panels all day for a set wage (probably have to make a set number too) and that wage is most likely less than minimum wage for most countries.
Very beautiful top!!!!!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you! 😊
I love love love your channel! I discovered it yesterday and already watched all of your videos!
Mack is adorable❤❤❤ i also had a dachshund , they are the best thing in the world ❤
Awe thank you so much and welcome!! I’m so happy to hear you like them 🥰
That’s awesome you used to have a doxie! They are just the best and great knitting buddies too 😉
❤ I love it! I think it's my favorite too! It reminds me of the granny square vests that were super popular in the late 60's and early 70's. But yours is so refined and delicate! I love it! Please give Mac a little smooch from me!
Thank you very much!
Lisa
Thank you so much, Lisa! I will definitely pass it on to Mac 😉💕
beautiful!
Must have missed this gorgeous top what a great hobby to have obviously you can make beautiful things atva lot less than buying them
Apologies cut myself off my point was you also get the pleasure of having made it yourself Great job Hugs to gorgeous Mac X
Thanks so much, Christine☺️ I will definitely pass on the hugs to Mac! 😉🫶
Well done, what a beautiful top , much nicer than the store one. Love following Mac and your travels he is so cute. I have 2 adorable dachshunds ❤ I'm from South Africa
Thanks so much☺️ Ah that’s cool! South Africa is one of my all-time favorite places. All the best to you and your little doxies ❤️
It's beautiful! Everything about your lovely top is perfect. Great choice for yarn too. You're so talented. Thanks for including Mac 💖🧶
Thank you, Jeanne! Always 🥰
You did such a great job recreating that top! You are very talented and very inspiring. Thank you for the video!
Thank you so much for checking it out ☺️
You did a gorgeous job on that Taryn! Agree with you on the tassels. 😝 What you did looks great! I'm not a fan of making granny square stuff because I hate putting it all together at the end. Your choices were perfect tho!
Thanks so much, Devon!😊🫶 Yeah, that’s definitely understandable - I love making the actual granny squares, but connecting them is not as fun 😅
Yours is way more beautiful for sure ❤ it looks super delicate and perfect for you
Thank you☺️💕
Congratulations!!!Love de edge. How didi you do it? Lovely work, one to be proud of no doubt. ❤🎉
Thank you! I picked up stitches around the edge using a very long cable needle and then knit an i-cord to make the edge - the I-cord repeat was *knit 3, knit 2 together, slip 4 stitches from the right to the left needle*, repeat * *. 🙂
I hope that top isn't real crochet! it might be that embroidery that looks like crochet, i've seen that A LOT. fingers crossed hahaha. also LOVE your doggy so so so much
Good job! Looks great
Thanks☺️
Your version is MUCH nicer! Good job!!
Thanks so much! 😁
Beautiful top Taryn! 🌸
Thanks, Jen! ☺️
Cute vest❤
Thanks, Anna!😉
So technically the top, if paying yourself anywhere decent for the hours spent on it, would be $300+ if you were to sell it. So fun! I don't think I'd ever want to do that small of yarn for granny squares lol. After I made a full or double size granny square afghan... I'm good.
Oh! You also gave me an idea for the lace weight alpaca yarn I got for Christmas! Thank you.
Lace weight alpaca yarn sounds so luxurious!☺️ Yeah, an afghan’s worth of granny squares is definitely more than enough granny squares for quite a while 😄
gorgeous piece!
Thank you!☺️
That top is made from machine-made fabric cut to shape. That's why you don't see parts of a whole square folded in the lining.
