Very informative, Wayne. Thanks for your thorough review of these two.
Glad it was helpful!
Really infomative and helpful review. I've been contemplating getting one, but holding off to see if a new product is being released. So far no sign of that happening. The back lighting of the picture also is very good in adding vibrancy to the image.
Thank you for the great review! Looks like you have some great photography!
Thanks.
I have the Meural and I do like it. The hand waving is touchy as you point out. I believe the hand sensors 'look down' from the lower frame, so you have to get the waving just right. I'm still a work in progress... And I agree with showing your own work- at first, I did try the art thing but ended up using the SD card 99% of the time. I don't use the online storage. That said, I periodically think about trying the online art again, but I never seem to get to it. The rotating mount didn't appeal to me- in many areas where I thought to mount it, as it rotates the corners describe quite a radius. Bottom line- you need clear unobstructed wall real estate to do it. I'm leaning to one frame horizontal and one vertical, and load up the SD cards appropriately. Cheers!
thanks for the comment. Liking mine even more. I’m like you, thinking of adding a vertical one.
Hi Wayne, thank you so much for making this video. I think based on your side by side review, I’m gonna try the Canvia. I also like your idea about putting a more ornate and thicker frame on them. I did that with a flat screen TV some years ago and it looked awesome over the fireplace.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this video!

Great video! Whats your opinion on the Samsung The Framen vs these? Regards
Great review focusing on the ability of these to show photos as opposed to art. Any chance you could share your Photoshop action that creates the blurred background for your images to correct the aspect ratio?
I’ll try to get that soon ... I’ll need to find a place to host the download. Probably could use iCloud.
Hi Wayne, really appreciate your video and I just purchased the 29". I'm very excited about getting it for both the 1-year free art subscription (to test) and the ability to add my photos. My question is do you have an opinion on the Protective Cover they offer. Have you or would you add this to yours and why.
Thanks
Unless it’s in a dusty environment or might get exposed to some splashing or other type of random stuff flying through the air from kids or others, I don’t see a need. Mine’s been up for some time now, and dust just doesn’t stick to it. A soft micro fiber cloth occasionally should be more than enough to keep it clean.
Hi Wayne! Thank you for this review! Do you know of any digitals frames that are large that don't have the art option and price tag? The biggest I can find is 16 or 17"
I haven’t seen any. Fortunately they work just fine without paying any subscriptions if you’re wanting to show your own work. The small amount of art that is accessible is sort of a token sample to try and convince you to sign up for the full package.
Great review. Can’t you charge the Meural, so you don’t always need the cord? Maybe i missed it if you said, forgive me…new subscriber.
No battery in either frame.
OMG....The left frame is turning black from time to time..... What a shame!
yeah, not real elegant if you want to use it as “slide show” with frequent changes. Not bad in my case since I only change the picture every 5 minutes. I wanted it to be more like a permanent photo mounted on the wall rather than a constantly moving slide show. that would be sort of distracting In the location I have it hanging.
there way over priced nup
