I actually do like it better when this show has an outro, either this one or the one you used to have. With the outro I have a clear indication that the episode ended & it isn't just RUclips glitching. Since you inyroduce yourselves at the beginning, there is already a clear intro and lead-in, even without the music.
"Where did Scream get the Sonic Knife?" *cut to Donna, alone on the floor in her room, hunched over, gripping a knife with both hands* "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" *cough, deep inhale* "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Imagine Eddie Brock as a personal trainer, just screaming at you to do that one last rep and down your protein shake before he eats your brains. I think I'd lose weight just from sheer anxiety and waking up in cold sweats in the middle of the night.
This show is truly my “safe space” no matter the day I’ve had, what bad things have happened I always end up coming back to this channel and back issues in particular. You guys make me laugh and smile when the rest of the world seems bleak and miserable and for that I can’t thank you enough! Stay classy comic pop stay classy 😁
I can't agree with this anymore as a loner who's always longer for friends like they are and the beautiful relationship Sal and Tiffany have. Such good people, which is amazing you can look at videos 7 years ago and see they all haven't changed and still truly care about one another and comics just as much.
Well it's good to see that the guys broke out of their phantom zone prisons in time for this week's episode. Although they didn't look as uncomfortable as the one's Zod's crew were stuck in.
I still haven't seen the first movie but I actually like the title "Let There Be Carnage" just because it's different than the typical format of "Character's Name: Subtitle from Major Comic Story".
When I first had this book, I was under the impression that this was the culmination of a long-running story. I thought all of the characters were established and I was catching the end. I didn't understand exactly how comics worked.
i love all venom back issues episodes they are so cool, in this you can see glimmers of a good story exploring the relationship that eddie has with the suit too bad they didn't went in with that
I still love the 90's comics and all the stupid symbiote stuff. I know it is flawed and not great but for me it is just filled with nostalgia and fun. Great episode, great channel.
This was the first comic I owned as a kid can still remember the panels as you were talking about how ridiculous it was lol. Love the show ! Thanks guys, keep doin your thing.
IIRC within the first 3 lethal protector comics they explain that Eddie was obsessed with working out at a young age because his father beat him and demeaned him. Possibly also he was bullied. They mention Eddie having an "Olympian level physique ". It's been a while though. I bought these when they were new and gave them away years ago.
I've been going through the Venom Epic Collection and (re)watching your reviews of each storyline after I read it, so I hope you'll do a couple more Venom miniseries in the future (the next Epic volume comes out later this month). Anyway, loved your take on this one. My main problem with the five Venom Spawn is that they're nothing bunch a bunch of action figure concepts. We have no idea who they were before the suit, their human names are only mentionned here for the first time, and their Symbiote name are actually never mentionned in the comics (be it Lethal Protector, The Exile Returns or Separation Anxiety). Carnage might not have been the most original concept, but he felt like an actual character. These guys are action figures.
Thank you for doing this. Your venom episodes years ago actually got me psyched to read them again & I collected trades and got all of the 90's venom mini-series. Such a campy fun time.
Great episode. As a kid I found the myriad symbiotes a lot cooler than they actually were. I fell for it. Also, I wholeheartedly approve of Ethan's "Nuke the Whales" shirt. That's one of those classic bits that has stuck with me most of my life. I lol'd when I saw the shirt.
Had to pause this video to say this: every time, in the 90s, I saw an image of Ben Reilly (with his 5 o’clock shadow & sweet mullet on a motorcycle) I hear a specific musical clip in my head - the harmonica sting from Hard Target starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. For anyone not familiar with that masterpiece, it’s very similar to the theme for Bishop from the X-Men cartoon in the 90s.
I remember playing the video game adaptation of this story on my Sega Genesis. It was pretty much Maximum Carnage game only without the extra superheroes (no Captain America, no Firestarter, etc)
Hey, that one ne’er-do-well with the knife has a promising future as a weapon & tool restorer/mirror-polisher on RUclips - hopefully, that encounter with Venom turned his life around.
Wait, if they're vulnerable to sonics, wouldn't something like a shotgun at that range make them recoil enough for the buckshot to kill the human host?
Why is this my favorite thing to watch stoned? Also, I'd love if you guys covered Messiah CompleX. I picked it up a while ago and it's really what got me interested this time around
33:30 "Have you noticed that we live in the United States? You can find a gun anywhere! Just look around and scoop one up and use it for reference! There's probably one in a gutter outside. Or in the cafeteria. Or under your chair! It's America, baby! LEARN HOW GUNS WORK."
I feel like this story could’ve worked better if it had treated the life foundation Symbiotes and their hosts as actual characters. Like what if Scream’s host had been suffering from schizophrenia and couldn’t tell what voices were the symbiote talking to her so she ended up going insane, fearing that it was evil and whispering all manner of evil things to her. And maybe the symbiote could have been trying to communicate to her, as best it could, that it’s not evil like she thinks it is. I think little things like that could’ve helped a lot.
Have they forgotten about the Symbiote needing a host in the Cates run? Because Eddie tells it to leave at one point and it just shape shifts into a guy in a hoodie and just walks off... we never see him bother to go find another host until he’s back with Eddie?
If you wanna buy Venom: Separation Anxiety and so much more, you can right here: amzn.to/3iGm2pD
Trying something out with the theme. 59:33
Glad to see the diddy is still in the show, I'm happy with the change!
I was about to say, if you're worried about people clicking off, put the theme at the end. Whatever you want to do, I'm here for it.
How dare you try anything new...also great, fun video!!!

I love how it started as a comic nerd explaining comics to two normal dudes, and now it's a comic nerd explaining comics to two other comic nerds
Imagine Eddie Brock as a personal trainer, just screaming at you to do that one last rep and down your protein shake before he eats your brains. I think I'd lose weight just from sheer anxiety and waking up in cold sweats in the middle of the night.
What if venom opens a school for gifted symbiote , he could be professor brock or professor B , their magneto i guess is carmage maybe.
Venom Symbiote: oh no my host dumped me.
Rest of the Symbiotes: You mess with one of us. You mess with all of us.
Little did we know da symbiotes are born and bred new yawkers!!!
Wait, where is the intro? I-I'm so confused. What show am I watching? Who are these people? Where am I?!
WHO AM I!?!?!?!?!?!?
Right! I was like, "Wait, something's not right here . . .:
It's my favorite part of the video
Oh yeah the piano intro was missing!

Don’t worry about Phage guys. Last I heard he survived and became a producer for the MCU.
The man/alien being has immense talent!!!
Well it's good to see that the guys broke out of their phantom zone prisons in time for this week's episode. Although they didn't look as uncomfortable as the one's Zod's crew were stuck in.
Fun fact: people made MUGEN characters of all of Venom’s “children.” (Except for Riot, I think.)
They really hate Riot
@@TupocalypseShakurhe’s the most boring one. Which is why it’s so surprising that he’s the one chosen for a cinematic appearance

Till 2000s or when ever eddie got anti venom
I wait for this show every week. My personal favorite RUclips channel.
"Sow his symbi-oats" is incredible 🤣
This is such a fun show! It’s also always nice to hear people raging on 90s comics! 😂
Thank you all for your hard work and putting together another great show.
We all appreciate it.👍🏿

Completely off topic but I love the Hobgoblin statue in the background
Sal getting worked up and going "haba- here just take these." Is what i live for.
It's Wednesday my dudes, and that means back issues!!! One of the highlights of my week!
Ethan is always great, but today he's Nuke The Whales great. I salute you sir.

Sal: Well, originally [the symbiotes] were tools--
Me: Right.
Sal: --of the Life Foundation
Me: Oh.
I swear people only remember this event because of the tie-in video game...
Did someone say...GREEN FLAME!?!
i'm so glad Ben came to his senses, and start saying symbiote correctly :)
I would think that the sound of a gunshot would startle a symbiote, wouldn’t it?
Alright! Another Classic Venom story on Back Issues.
"Classic"

I’ve been laughing at sal not knowing what to do with the comics for 5 minutes

“Ok...THESE ARE GUNS!”
The only story type Venom fits in is horror and they never quite make that leap....imagine it given a treatment like Immortal Hulk
Oh my goodness! Planet of the Symbiotes with Comic Pop! That would be AMAZING! SPECTACLAR! WEB of...! AND Adjectiveless!

Is this the first time the intro has not appeared? I will admit that hearing the music always soothed me before the fun zaniness that follows
This episode really makes me wanna see a Comic Pop watch-along commentary episode of Spectacular Spider-Man.
Venom battles his children I read the pop-up as Venom bites his children and frankly I am little disappointed now at no vampire Venom
Glad to see all the boys back on the couch again.
How could people thumbs down the good fellas on the couch?! Forget about it
Lesson of the day: never skip leg day to get good with the symbiote 😂
Congrats on 91k! The march to 100k shortens evermore...

Separation anxiety episode coming out three days after getting dumped??????? Coincidence?????????? I THINK NOT

Venom gets dumped and all the symbiotes ride n’ die for their fam. Nothing stronger than family.
That intro just maxed out MY anxiety. I thought Sal was going to give a disclosure or something
Is it my birthday? A venom centered episode. 😃
All jokes and continuity aside, the current venom run is pretty amazing I love it. Haven't read much else of donny cates tho
Wednesday ain't any good without back issues
PLEASE do planet of the symbiotes, I neeeeeed to see depressed venom
Pretty sure Old Man Logan and the Marvel Now run of Deadpool were up there with the violence. Not to mention Sentry’s habit of ripping people in half

Has Typhoid Mary ever had a symbiote? I feel like that would be interesting.
That’s a dope idea but isn’t Mary pyrokinetic? I figured she’d be a bad match for a symbiote.
