Bound XKA430 with a iRangeX IRX4 + Turnigy 9XR (not pro) with S-FHSS protocol, IT WORKED! Only problem for me is that the motor immediately started running (as soon as it was bound) and got a small cut. I had to change the channel order, and reverse a couple of them. Ch1: Aileron; Ch2:Ele; Ch3:Thr; Ch4:Rud; and Ch5 Full Gear. Ch5 is a toggle switch from 6G to 3D. Used the transmitter dual rate. Reversed Ch1 & Ch4. Have had a few flights, and it flies best for me when I add inthe transmitter quite a bit of expo on Aileron.
Nice video Andy I really enjoyed it, I'm already convinced, I may be a little older than you, I still remember your childhood experiences, your right it's amazing technology, I love it. Great to hear you having Fun. Thanks for an informative vidios 😊👍😎
Did you ever make a video with upgrading the transmitter? bc I wanna do this with mine. I agree the transmitter it comes with is way too twitchy for my flying lol
It's slightly larger than the E-Flite AS3xtra/YAK and THREE TIMES THE WEIGHT. That thin wing will probably be 'pointy'. A true flat plate handles differently - and better. It's fast because it's heavy.
Very nice! it's all about flying and having fun without much problems and that's exactly what you were doing. Speaking of problems I was hoping you can help me with mine. I have a question regarding a Lemon 0008 satellite receiver that I am trying hopelessly to bind to my Spektrum DX6 and an SPRacing EVO3 mini FC with a built in DSMX receiver. I'm not sure what pin is what on the Lemon satellite receiver? Looking at the receiver from above with the antenna wires at the bottom, which of the three pins are what? Thanks. and keep the great videos coming!
Almost 23 years after my last fixed wing (oh my gosh... ^^ ), I can only agree about the incredible technology involved here. I'm interested by its brother, the DHC2 A600, to get back into the fixed wings world and trying FPV on it.
I would really like to see you review the hobbyzone aeroscout 1.1m rtf 😊 I know you would boss it and show it's full potential.. I received mine last week and am waiting to maiden it until the daylight hours get a bit better 👍🏻
The stabilisation is both the salvation and the curse of this plane. It stops it from being too twitchy to fly but it tempts you into trying manoeuvres that you really shouldn't but then prevents you from doing them properly. I really like it but I think they got the level of stabilisation slightly wrong. It is too much like the level on the A600. Not really my style of flying though which is why I was so interested in your views given your background. Good review as always
Lol i made giant meccano hellicopter got it 6inchs off the ground batteries were on the floor though.😃 Awesome plane thanks andy.😃 Use the x10 transmitter from xk 251 or 252.😃
Well, as a former FAI Aerobatic Pattern flyer (and AMA Class D pattern), I think I would find this a bit too tame. I also flew mode 1 back in those days, as there were advantages (I feel) in separating the aileron & elevators on separate sticks (aileron on right stick, elevator on left). I kept waiting for you to fly it inverted, but perhaps with its gyros it won't fly inverted? Even in 'stability mode', its probably not a suitable trainer for those unfamiliar with flying aircraft (as opposed to quads). However, it seems stable enough for those with even a bit of aircraft stick time to be able to manage it. I'm still amazed at how small the RC gear has become .. and how reliable. (and cheap) I started off with a single channel 48 inch high wing trainer, which used a .15 r/c engine and only had left/right rudder (controlled by a rubber band driven escapement), and the ability to go from full high to idle and back on the motor. My transmitter had an on/off switch and a push button, and you had to master pushing that one button correctly to go left or right or to change the motor speed (my TX also had 3 tubes in it, and both a "filament" battery as well as high voltage - 195vdc - batteries). I think it put out about 1/2 watt of RF, but even with that amount of power, the range was barely more than 150 meters. So, like you, I'm amazed at today's technology and the light weight of everything. I built my 1st RC plane when I was 14 (built rubber power FF and flew some U/C before that). The older guys with $$$ back in those days flew 10 channel "reed control" systems .. and I could only dream of owning one of those systems as they cost about $400 for the TX, RX & 5 servos & batteries (NiCD) .. and even then, YOU had to wire it all up .. there were no "plug and play" systems back then. Ah well, I've gone too far down memory lane. Good to see you enjoying yourself. Do another video if you get a proper TX to fly it with (and maybe try 3S ???). Cheers!
It will fly inverted Bill its just the resolution on the TX i do not trust 1mm of movent equals in almost full movement. I completely agree with you on the technology, im seeing people complain about the price of this one when i once spent 35gbp on ONE 9 gram servo people dont know how lucky they are and im sure I am one of the to some extent. i plan on trying with a proper tx thanks
it's a pity they didn't give the option of adding in some expo. That said, maybe your choice to run the maximum control throws is making it more difficult than it needs to be ;)
Well Bill you sound pretty awesome as a pilot. I Also flew pattern\ Quicker 500 \ and jets. You should join one of us in the heli community learn some 3D as the Yutes call it. A guy like you could probably Smack a Goblin around in no time.......... Great review on a cheap lunchtime ripper Andy
I just got this plane. I have not flown it yet. But... if I wanted to get a futaba radio. Does it matter which one? As long as it’s 4 channel or above.. . Can I get a cheap one ? Or does it need to be top end to make a big difference in resolution?
I pretty love this little bird, beside the XK A600 which is awesome too, but the A430 allows more agressive flying and is so much fun :) Anyone any idea about Spareparts? I mean i can use Spareprops from the A600 but else i guess i can´t find any spareparts for this (instead for A600 there´s a lot stuf available).
is it out yet? because on bangood is in pre-order fase. If isn't sell yet could be the reason why you can't find spare parts at the moment but maybe there will be in the future. Anyhow , great review as always.
Do you have a software (Cleanflight, LibrePilot, etc) and flight controller you recommend for adding stabilization to a fixed wing? (Not looking for GPS)
Andy, how do you feel flying aerobatic fixed wing aircraft vs fpv quadcopter? Which one is easier for beginner provided that I can practice on simulators before flying
I tried to bind this plane to a TaranisQ X7 with an iRangeX IRX+ module but I didn’t succeed. Does somebody has a suggestion for me? Awesome plane by the way!!
Hey Andy I really need your help I just got done with a build and it will hover with out a problem but when I got to punch out it causes it to flip or fall out the sky. I recalibrate the esc and put newest update from blheli. Need help pls
what motor and prop are you running? KV rating, size? I'm not sure about the defaults, but you might want to enable demag compensation in blhelisuite. sounds like it might be getting a desync if it's only losing control in a punch out. You might also have to adjust the timing to a higher setting if you have a higher kv motor (above 24-2500 or so)
AndyRC lol no Andy then it would be free LOL! the parts that they use in these things are very cheap including the styrofoam I can guarantee you the nearly $90 price tag is over 100% profit. they could sell millions of these at 40 bucks and make a lot more money. I just don't think everybody is going to spring for 90 bucks on such a small and cheaply made Toy.
Body Xlgg best place is either Banggood or Tomtop, in my case Tomtop worked out cheaper and had stock and I had it delivered to Australia in only a couple of days but just compare the prices to your country on both those sites Andys review is very accurate for these - as always
Very cool little plane! I love these little brushless systems. I just received the XK DHC-2 A600 to FPV! Happy Flying!
Apply a strip of clear tape along the leading edge of all 4 wings to increase durability a ton. ;)
thanks for the tip :)
Yah, I did that too.
It's only got 1 wing.
What would you recommend for a first time pilot?

Another 1comment... your videos and flying are just flat out AWESOME!!!!!
ah thanks very kind cheers

Great Video I love small planes like this! Just bought a ninjato! Really nice plane! Going out to fly now. Thanks Andy!
ill look that one up thanks rich
It would be cool to see those stalls and hovers via FPV. Do you think it would handle a small AIO FPV cam?

Futaba protocol suggests that an iRangeX IRX4 module could be used with a Taranis. That would be a real improvement.
I want one now! It looks awesome! Great review!

Good show! By George, I think he likes it!
Awesome to see some fix wings on your channel. I am really looking forward to see it fly with DEVO 7E :)
A champion 3D pilot andy. Xk is making nice toys i have 2 heli`s and 2 quads and love them.

It would be cool to slap a micro fpv cam on it, this looks like a fun one👍
ill look into it thanks
You should do a review of a kite in this wind! Love the vids.
Hey Andy rc it’s possible to do a hover. Another channel James xu did a hover in his video
I like it, can a spektrum rx be installed?
I pretty love this little bird, beside the XK A600 which is awesome too, but the A430 allows more agressive flying and is so much fun :)

the brushless motor sounds like a dentists drill!
Do you have a software (Cleanflight, LibrePilot, etc) and flight controller you recommend for adding stabilization to a fixed wing? (Not looking for GPS)
I have a Devo 7e transmitter from deviation. Do you know if the a430 can bind with this transmitter or any other transmitter ?
I wonder if it will bind with a dx6i
awesome rc
Andy, how do you feel flying aerobatic fixed wing aircraft vs fpv quadcopter? Which one is easier for beginner provided that I can practice on simulators before flying
+Tran .Dat planes are cheaper but these days i wouldn't say one was more difficult than the other just practice on a sim a lot and u should be good
How does the receiver look like? can I the receiver plug it with my other PNP plane?
You all be first. I'm just happy to be here with notifications. lol. Been waiting all day!
@Weston Ahmed $162 a month after the two day trial? SCAM! I've notified PayPal.
@Moses Kaiden $162 a month after the two day trial? SCAM! I've notified PayPal.
Does it have a version without that strange radio transmitter? I have my own FASST futaba 😅
there is no bnf no :( but if u get this one its pretty cheap anyways
AndyRC It's not the money, it's the lazy mood of have an usless receiver xD
Well played Major.
thanks Michael
Ten douche bags disliked this video. You're a champ!
I tried to bind this plane to a TaranisQ X7 with an iRangeX IRX+ module but I didn’t succeed. Does somebody has a suggestion for me? Awesome plane by the way!!
cool
nice flying
1 comment....love ur videos
nbkblood thanks so much
I live in az I would like to know weed to buy rc air plair
In what particular airplane is the xk a430 was patterned after?
very similar to the Extra 300 aerobatics plane.
nice video!
Would this plane still be worth buying 4yrs on?
I love mine. Look for sale on ebay or banggood.
Don't fly fixed wing, but enjoyed the video, none the less !!!
thank you

sounds like the system is browning out check the battery has a high enough C and the battery connector can handle the current.
AndyRC 70c batteries brand new and xt60 connectors

medical silk woven tape, available in chemists, makes nice hinges on these little plane's
thanks!
Love your reviews but I have to disagree how you say its so cheap. $39.00 would be cheap. Hate it that they don't reinforce the Styrofoam flaps.
39 dollars would be giving it away imo
AndyRC lol no Andy then it would be free LOL! the parts that they use in these things are very cheap including the styrofoam I can guarantee you the nearly $90 price tag is over 100% profit. they could sell millions of these at 40 bucks and make a lot more money. Is it faster than a600?
can you fly it with the devo?
with the right module yes
what the motor kv speed
planes!!! yay!!!!
hi im from iraq
mi dron is good or not
I have a mi 4k and yes very good for the $$
Marcus P Thank you. How much price
Can I communicate with you on facebook or facebook?
Body Xlgg best place is either Banggood or Tomtop, in my case Tomtop worked out cheaper and had stock and I had it delivered to Australia in only a couple of days but just compare the prices to your country on both those sites
Andys review is very accurate for these - as always
Thank you
Of-course gyros is cheat..
Don't know whether gyro stabilized heli's or planes r allowed for competitions.
:)
I did comply the same as you
I will be first one day !
Buy this airplane at gearbest they offer free shipping.
(my planes still don't fly 🤣🤣)
I love all of it...except the charger. Dreadful.
do some builds andy instead of these boring reviews mate you not done one for ages
build coming soon thanks for the feedback
AndyRC awesome looking forward to them :-)
fpv it
i must thanks
