Well, yeah, if he's an absolute beginner, who hasn't flown anything up to this point, he'd be better off with a X5C (or clone). The ones he mentioned, are pretty tame in beginner speed (speed 1), but the learning curve would be pretty steep, and I don't think any of the ones he mentioned would be as "crash resistant" as an X5C (or clone .. including your latest X15 Eagle .. snork). That said, I've seen guys buy DJI Phantoms as their 1st quadcopter. The difference being is that the Phantom can fly itself, if you take the time to read all the manuals and watch all the instructional videos online. (but too many do NOT read/watch, and wind up with crashes or fly-aways because they did something dumb .. like trying to fly it indoors ... you can't fix stupid!).

If it's your first drone, you shouldn't be mounting your GoPro to it, unless you don't mind losing it. Beginner fliers crash, crash hard, and crash often as they learn what not to do. I always recommend the Syma X5C for new fliers, due to its excellent stability, *durability*, and ease of flying. And it even has a camera too. Use it to learn the basics of flight with. Let this cheap quadcopter take the inevitable crashes and bangs of a beginner flier. And if you break it, *every part on it is cheap, widely available*, and easily replaceable. Later as your flying skills improve and you're not crashing as much, then consider something better/more expensive. ruclips.net/video/y93vzA-KRlM/видео.html
