This is probably the best way Sniper Elite could be converted into a board game. Which is kinda like saying "This is the best dish to combine blood sausage and custard anyone has ever made." I don't hate the idea, I just don't get why anyone would attempt it in the first place. And like any convoluted idea, the rules just made me go crosseyed. "BUT DON'T YOU WANT TO PLAY A BOARD GAME SIMULATING A WAR?!" Yes I do. And I have. It's called "RISK" and even a dumbass like me can play it without taking a learning course first.
Apparently the expansion broke things even further so I'm kind of glad I couldn't find it. It was definitely an interesting experience but for all the rules and reading it just felt kinda like useless esoteric knowledge that I'd never use or need to recall ever again lol
@@Analog_Nightmare, honestly I tried the single player mode once, thought "huh, that was nifty but I should double check those rules," then put away. I'll probably bust it out again soon-ish to take another stab at it.
This may sound dumb, but I think it would be interesting to convert this boardgame into an online multiplayer steam game. You could avoid the Carl player making secret mistakes, and tap into an invested player base. I could never get my friends to sit down and learn this, but I feel like there could be a dedicated online community.
Honestly that sounds like a pretty great idea! I wonder if it's on board game simulator or any of the similar programs? I know games like 40k have taken on a complete other life on there
Interesting that Rebellion know what dogs are as they never appear in the games despite being an obvious great addition. I don't play board games because i'm not a bored family of 4 on a wet caravanning holiday.
Dang, while I appreciate the desire to get off the screen and onto a tabletop game, this one just seems too complex that it's going to cause constant confusion and arguments. Maybe as a solo game, but then I can do that on my PC already... I have a collection of WW2 card and board games I hope one day to play with my kids when they're old enough: Escape from Coldita and Upfront amongst others, and several solo games, B-17, Raid on St Nazaire and Patton's Best. I think I'm going to have to skip this one.
@Analog_Nightmare Putin gotta be the KING of the poker face. We'd all think he'd be in Paris a year ago! There are countless footage and pictures of Hitler smiling... I NEVER saw Putin not have that blank Russky face
@Analog_Nightmare i do remember having to use the bathroom when playing Battleship with friends... i call it a reconnaissance flight if you just so happen to see their board on the way to the bathroom ;)
After learning the game, it was a good amount of fun to play. very unique experience.
If only Tigs hadn't been helping you cheat

Not the review we expected but the review we needed right now.
Also... Forgot I own this game until now...
What do you think about it? Also fun for a the first few times and then gets a little boring?

Literally laughed out loud at this, you're not taking any prisoners huh?

Ever play bolt action? I keep seeing the kits everytime I go to the hobby shop but I know as soon as I start, I can't stop...
Interesting. A number of other reviewers talked about how easy it is to learn and how streamlined this game is.
do wolfenstein the board game next and i will call you chief
I didn't even realize there was one!!
Also, offering to call me chief is 10/10 and will absolutely get you what you want 🤣🤣
I still can't believe board games are still a thing! Forget Chess! CHECKERS is where any minion can be a King!
Or card games! Poker?? When go fish already had a perfectly balanced meta??
