  • Part 2 of a 5-part verse-by-verse study of Alma 23-29, which recounts the history of the Anti-Nephi-Lehies. Part 2 covers Alma 24-25 and examines counseling together, post-conversion care, real repentance, weapons of peace, and non-violent protest--particularly relevant themes during this period of racial unrest following the unjustified death of George Floyd. Join Jared Halverson for your weekly Come Follow Me study of the Book of Mormon!

    Once again learning and growing in the Gospel at the desk of Jared Halverson. "My best beloved brethern"... Who are they? All the priesthood members that have shared their knowledge with this woman. I'm so grateful that our paths crossed in Tennessee...please share my love to your sweet family and give them all a hug from me.

    I knew l would be saved by grace but l never was able to completely grasp “after all we can do “. You wouldn’t believe how light l feel at the minute. Thanks again for your lessons.

      I'm so glad the explanation helped--and thrilled at the lightness you feel! If you go back and watch the lessons from King Benjamin (Mosiah 1-6), you'll hear it explained in even greater depth. Thanks for letting me be a part of your scripture study!

    Brilliant. This is more than a presentation, this is an in-depth perspective of comprehending what Mormon shared from the gold plates, making it applicable for today. Brilliant! Only wish there were subtitles.

    The delay in joining the Anti-Nephi-Lehis has a lot or parallels with the parable of the laborers in the vineyard. It doesn't matter when they come, as long as they come and enjoy all the blessings of the kingdom :)

    • @Unshaken
      @Unshaken  4 года назад

      What a beautiful parallel! I've never thought of that, but I completely agree. Thank you for sharing!

      I've been wanting to do that (probably just separate out the audio and leave it at that), but keep looking for the time. Thanks for the nudge in that direction! I need to do it!

    Another fantastic presentation. However, you need to jettison all of the Mesoamerican artwork. The painting from the Gospel Art Kit at 33:44 was only shown once, I believe. That is geography neutral per church policy. The artwork at the 5:20 mark and numerous other places showing the DEEP pit or cave shows real swords and Aztec clubs.
    Real swords with blood stains removed could be made bright and
    kept bright--not the case with wooden Aztec clubs embedded with obsidian
    (Macuahuitl)! This weapon was used in Mesoamerica between 900 and 1570. This is
    over 1,000 years after they buried their weapons and weapons of war. This does
    NOT fit Book of Mormon time periods!
    If the church is really neutral on Geography, they have to get rid of all the Mesoamerican artwork in manuals, videos, magazines and wherever it may be found. Anybody that uses it to instruct others is violating church policy. Granted, most of the artwork was painted long before the neutrality policy. It still needs to go regardless of when it was painted. There is a vicious cycle with artwork. Artists paint what they were taught and then the next generation gets exposed to it and new artists paint what they were taught.
    Look at the July 2020 Friend Magazine cover. It shows Alma standing in front of 2 Mayan pyramids, Chichen Itza is the most famous due to its unique shape and well-preserved symmetry--clearly represented behind Alma. Alma taught the Gospel about 100 BC. Chichen Itza was built about 600-800 AD--over 700 years after Alma. Do you see a problem with that?
    The sad part about all of this Mesoamerican artwork (about 1/3 of the Book of Mormon Manual, Come Follow Me) is that over 200 neutral artwork pieces were offered to CES several years ago for the Book of Mormon manual and it was all REJECTED.

    • @Unshaken
      @Unshaken  4 года назад

      That is so unfortunate that the neutral artwork was rejected. I would love to have access to it!
