    Brother Jared...until the clarity provided by this beautifully taught lesson, I realized that I hadn’t received the Lords mercy, by laying my struggle with sin at His feet...and accepting His gift. Once again, Thank you for allowing the Spirit guide you as you teach...I love you....This is a day of pure freedom and peace...and you have been a bright part of it....Keep up the good work😇. David....your brother in the gospel

    Brother Jared we appreciate you sharing your teaching skills in the scriptures . I wasn't aware you teaching these lessons three and four years ago. I feel like I have been left out of scripture study for at least a couple years. I searched everyday for your lessons and I'm glad they last an hour or so. Alma sure brings out a good point in parenting and repentance.

      I would love that! My 8 years in Tennessee, and my time at Divinity School, left me with a great love for my evangelical brothers and sisters. I have a lot of "holy envy" for your focus on the grace of Christ. I imagine you'd have some important insights to share, and though we probably wouldn't agree on everything, I hope we would see some beautiful commonalities!

    41:56 I loved that cute story. As we get more experienced with repenting (because we will sin that much), it gets easier to turn to God more quickly after messing up, rather than avoiding Him. I know now that God is so eager to forgive us even before we make amends and go through that repentance, from the moment of calling on Him. Look what happened with Alma, the instant he called on God, God was there, before Alma could make amends or even say he was sorry.

    Thank you so much for the analogy with the scar. That just put everything in perspective for me. For a very long time I have thought I was not forgiven because I can still remember every horrible thing that I've ever committed. While I don't want to recommit them and I feel absolute sorrow from those past transgressions. I better understand now that I have to remember them so I don't recommit them. And like the wound there was pain but then when it heals up there's just a memory of the scar I think that's such a beautiful analogy and this is why I love your teaching! Thank you

Your videos are truly a treasure. I especially love what you taught about why we keep the commandments to become like him because so many rely wholly on mercy and miss the beauty of obedience and aligning our will to God's.

    You have mentioned many times that we don’t earn our way to salvation or exaltation and I certainly agree. I’ve been intrigued for a while how the scriptures so often speak of inheriting eternal life. Who typically obtains an inheritance? Those who are “in the family” and in good standing. So the covenant to take upon ourselves the name of Christ is crucial along with continual effort to develop/maintain those righteous reflexes. Heaven will be full of repenters. Any thoughts?

    • @Unshaken
      @Unshaken  4 года назад

      I love this comment! "Inheritance" is such a perfect way to describe things. I've often come back to the "marriage" analogy that so often appears in scripture (the Parable of the 10 Virgins, for example), and "inheritance" similarly draws upon that relational aspect of exaltation. Thank you so much for sharing this!

    I think of the sword with the cherebim as God's Spirit or the Holy Ghost (as opposed to God's Word--who is Christ, which if we have made it that far, we should have become one with Christ and God & the Holy Ghost) The Holy Ghost helps to purify and can not dwell in unclean beings, so the Holy Ghost would dwell in the being who approaches the Tree of Life.
