Thanks so much! I actually layered two elements: one was a simple kick and snare with a super strong low pass filter. Second, I layered a percussive strumming pattern using muted notes on the guitar. Here is a separate tutorial explaining a similar technique to what I did: ruclips.net/video/_He42ArXOvc/видео.htmlsi=oKghuLqIHVdXvSAY Hope this helps!
Great question! To be honest I don’t know the specific gear/effects he uses, and phase vs flange is definitely nuanced. Generally, flange is a little more harsh than phasing, but it gets complex. For this, I tried to get close to his sound by ear, but also tune it to the sound that worked for me. If you’ve seen him use that flanger I’d certainly think that’s what he used. Hopefully this helps, I’d love to see him live one day!
Not sure exactly but I found that a simple kick and snare with extreme low pass worked well. Then a simple, quiet fill every other bar with a tom sound. Also, some muted strumming on the electric guitar along with the drum pattern adds to the percussive sound. Hope this helps!
Who needs a guitar teacher when we have this? Amazing tutorial! :D

@@brandonmwatt thanks man!
Love this! How can you tell if he used a phaser vs flange? I've seen him with the Bf-2 on tour with Dijon.
