I had 5 or 6 of the Ms Pac-Man in the late 90s. They weren’t very popular here. There was a guy in Knoxville that I bought few U-Haul trailers full of games and jukeboxes. it filled a four car garage detached 2 1/2 car garage. My dad got mad at me and told me to get rid of everything. Friends will come over and play all weekend. Out of all that, I only have one jukebox left. Keep up the good work repairing those old things, I had a lot of fun in it.
When you pulled up the stool I thought it was to sit down. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I didn't expect it to open like that.
One of my favorite Joe Videos to date , calm down , calm down , I know they aren’t the right style capacitors 😂. Joe you always bring a smile to my face ! Great video !
I love it when armchair experts are stopped in their tracks 😂
It's clear that you've played a few rounds of ms. Pac man in your life.
Great video!
I'd really like to see you doing the soldering sometime when you are working on these.
Nice repair Joe, your knowledge of the game is impressive
Wow, the modified version is fast! Fun repair, thanks Joe!
You’re welcome for the meter. I’m so glad to see you using it more! I should make a video on all the features so you and Ron can get the most use of it.
I grew up playing this style cabinet at a restaurant in California called Hof's Hut. As soon as we walked in I would start bugging my mom for a quarter. You guys customized one for me several years ago with a 60-in-1 board and I still play it every time I go to my parent's house. The only difference is now I don't need a quarter!
You should still bug your mom for a quarter just for old time's sake.
40 years! Thanks for the reminder. 😅 I remember watching my friend play it in an arcade. We were both well out of high school by then.
Radials are a sign of the times. They're easier to find. The folks building new tube amps from scratch are building turret boards to utilize radial caps over axial caps.
I really enjoy hanging out and watching your videos. Keep them coming.
Come on now Joe the cardboard is clearly there to keep the overspray off of the monitor when you respray the coin door........... :) :) :)
A perfect cherry board is 14,600 points and a perfect strawberry board is 14, 800. Also, I prefer the speed chip. Over the years, I have noticed a ton of Pac-Man cabinets converted to Ms. Pac-Man. This might be one because I saw just Pac-Man on the PCB.
Thanks for the video Joe! You guys enjoy the weekend!
I had no idea there was a fast version. That looks way more fun!
Ms Pacman, Dig Dug, Galaxia, Defender are my favorites.
I wonder how to fast speed mode compares to the "pac booster, always on" option in the home console version. (I had it for genesis)
My brother and i always played this with fast turned on the snes version!
Great job on the repair . . . but that game speed? Crazy . . .
nice camera work, and great repair. Another happy customer 😃
Informative and entertaining, as usual. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
I just drilled out the lock on my puck bowler to get in it but pryed the back of the back box to get into the back.
Pizza hut 🍕 was PONG for me.
Give Joe something to fix & it will be returned with a high score to beat! That should keep your customer busy! Nice work as always 👊
It's unreasonably thrifty to not let the best arcade restore guys in the US clean up your game. It's worth making it look as good as it plays.
You can get sentimental with the damage
This game was a proud supporter of breast cancer awareness and it still is I think
Pizza Hut version Trademark Lyons Arcade Hek yeah!!! I support that.
Ms Pac Man may be the most popular game, but speed-hacked Ms Pac Man seems to be the most popular variant.
JOE now don't get to EXCITED.❤️
I couldn't help it!
Howdy from London
Hello!
Nice work brother 👏
A cheap set of lock picks would make short work of those old wafer locks, I've picked a few in my time! Save you having to mangle the coin doors.
when i was a kid in the 80's we called it pizza hut pac-man and showbiz pizza pac-man, of those cocktail games my favorite was Joust
All the Showbiz Pizzas I ever visited had only upright arcade cabinets.
Joe has a serious case of PacMan Fever!! Nice job
I would like to see the repair task of the joy stick if you can. Thanks
Awesomeness!!!
Who else said “microfarad” in their head? 🙋♂️
Well, testing old caps can be misleading. Sometimes they test higher, but not because they are holding more. They are leaky. The meters base the test on time, and if it takes longer to charge, it must be larger, right? Not necessarily. Sometimes you have leakage, making it take longer. It takes longer to fill a bucket with a hole.
The 330 and the 10s probably caused all the noise as they did nothing. The others were likely failing as their values were drifting. Too high can be leaky as I said. Maybe sometimes too low will climb back up if they were not being used for a long time, but not always.
Joe, do you sell monitor chassis? ICan I shoot you an email? Thanks
I'd say the ones on the edge of the board. I've seen that in another video. But yeah, replace them in a group.
Is pretzel a fruit? What about pretzel with ketchup?
Joe can you get your brother Ron to show his face . So we all can see what he looks like.
I thought my computer broke at 6:30 but it turns out it was the machine.
0:16:00 i sometimes wonder what "the uninitiated" think when Ron says "microfared." he used to gripe about all the comments that would correct 'uf." now it's a kind of psychedelic kick during an evaluation or restoration
Need to eat all the ghosts and fruit or your not going to get high score. :) I try for purple dots on 1 guy. Not too hard at fast speed. When I was a kid there was no fast speed and getting past red dot screen pretty much made you town hero. LOL. I old now and don't really care about the high scores anymore. :) At 5 guys i probably play for like 3 hrs. LOL.
Is 500 $ a good price for a mrs. Pacman cocktail table? Has crt? Pcb good soundboard good... overall good condition for the year
So the problem was the bad capacitors causing that horrible humming noise?
i can close my eyes and see that in a pizza hut. not sure what i called it before but i think of those as cocktail tables. poor thing sounds like a sick tugboat.
Is it fair to say "it's broke"?
Seriously though, back in the day when my mum and dad had a pub and we'd rent arcade machines, these were most often referred to as tabletops. Silly term.
What happened to Ron? Doesn't he usually take over in the videos to play the games once you fix them, Joe?
Oh my Ears!!!! LOL
Hey Joe!!
Hey Jason!
Where you goin' with that soldering gun in your hand?
Did Ms. Pac-man divorce Pac-Man and keep his name for clout?
Anyway, great video as usual.
uF, micro Farad, whatever. We all know what you mean. Technically the character is the greek letter "mu" which represents micro, but who really cares. Some call Pico Farad "puff". I don't know why some people get so hung up on that sort of thing.
How does that fan get adequate airflow? Even if there's a hole through the bottom, I'd imagine the clearance under the table wouldn't be enough.
It's the Playstation 1 way, also known as the wrong way.
They don't need much airflow.
I told you, but you wouldn't listen.
I know whats wrong. IT'S BROKE ❤
