Great reaction. This performance was the first I ever heard from Dan, about two months after he released it, and I was immediately hooked. I remember this thumbnail kept popping up in my RUclips feed. I ignored it (for about two months) thinking to myself, "I don't want to hear a metal singer ruin Amazing Grace." Finally I gave in and clicked on it and I was so sorry I hadn't listened to it sooner. This is hands down the best rendition of Amazing Grace I've ever heard and I just love watching others react to it for the first time. Keep 'em coming!

He put his all into this classic hymn and just elevated it even more. Isn’t this a just beautiful performance from Dan. He has the most incredible voice and has honed his technique over many years of training and hard work. He does make it look easy but has said in the past that this type of singing is exhausting and takes a lot of work to do correctly. I'm so glad you reacted to this. Thank you. Dan is "Amazing" isn't he? But he wasn't born singing like this (though he says he sang before he could talk). He has worked hard to perfect his vocal skills and took voice lessons for 10 years or so. He also believes that since his body is his instrument, how he cares for it makes a difference in his singing. Thus he eats healthy and works out to keep himself in the best shape possible.

Davi (Dan's younger brother) has mentioned (on one of his "Talking Videos" playlist entries) that their dad bought a LOT of harmonicas (and played them all). Occasionally, he would give one or more to either or both of the boys, and this continued until their dad passed away in 2017 (about a week before Dan's birthday, after battling cancer for a while). The harmonica Dan chose for "Amazing Grace," is one that sounds the most like bagpipes. On October 9, 2017 (the day before Dan's 28th birthday), he posted his dad's favorite Elvis song (An American Trilogy) as his tribute.
I've come back to make some suggestions: "Bring Me To Life" and "My Immortal" (Evanescence); "Toss A Coin To Your Witcher" and "BURN BUTCHER BURN" (Netflix series The Witcher); "Bohemian Rhapsody", "I Want It All" and "The Show Must Go On" (Queen), "Sound of Silence" (Disturbed version); "Nessun Dorma" (yeah, he does that!).... Many more, but I will wait for another video.
