That’s another reason. And a lot of these games have no purpose or anything to do. It’s mostly just “drive around and do stuff I guess,” and I could understand why kids would get bored very quickly.
@@Akuxz kids still do love racing games, just ask yourself why the hell would you play a bootleg roblox racing game when you could play a proper fully finished game with tuning,customization,actual story. Dont take me wrong it does look alright on roblox but its unfinished unpolished and will never be as good as the real thing

3:22 ok, I can tell just from the start line this game was inspired by split-second, one of my favorite racing games. To anyone who wants to know, split-second is a racing game that invokes total chaos, I’m talking literal dams collapsing, trucks that have explosive barrels, it’s crazy. Amazing game. It’s not made anymore though and it was for older consoles like the PlayStation 3.
And it had levolution before battlefield 4 released... It's truly was my favorite game in 2011

Most of people may know this but ima throw it out.
These game developers did not find the perfect blocks to make a realistic tree or bush. They use a harder technique with a 3d modeling software like blender and create a tree or bush and slap a realistic texture on it.
I think we're still eons away from seeing fully-detailed 3D elements such as tree trunks with dented bark and everything. That's just too much for any ststem to process on a large scale, at least as of now. Using textures on flat surfaces is probably the best way to reproduce realism while keeping the game playable (and saving 3D modelers from spending lots of time and effort on details no one will notice!)

I played the Canyons 2 years ago on my old 2012 pc. I recorded my first video there. Im surprised my computer didn’t explode.
Showcases are some my favorite types of games in roblox, idk why but I feel amazed by the level of detail and dedication put into making these games, the effort definitely pays off. nice video btw!

There's a difference between realistic and very good graphics
I still can remember when i played that lumber mode, where i needed to farm wood of different kinds to build myself a home and also sell that wood or axes. Very simplistic mechanic with a big grind factor, but it still made fun to play.

That BMW was a BMW M3 GTR by what it looked like, it had a v8, and was a race car, because of Porsche, they stopped racing them, only 10 road versions were produced, it was really popular in Need For Speed Carbon and Most Wanted. The whine sound you hear from the M3 is the sound coming from it's gearbox using spur gears (straight cut), and not helical gears, like most cars, although most cars whine in reverse because the reverse gear is a Spur gear. Sorry I'm obsessed with cars.

Finally, I always loved the insane visuals of showcase games on roblox. I just love looking at the amazing detail and work they put in to do stuff like this and im happy that this video will bring more attention to that catagory of games on Roblox, though must people have play on a samsung fridge lol

@@Solotocius Have a look at something like bf2042 (yes ik the game sucks) and compare it to roblox. The foliage doesn't have the same detail since roblox has limitations. They got the easy part of shaders though
I played the first realistic game on my iPad and it’s running surprisingly well
I’m so grateful my friend showed me roblox way back in the day, seeing roblox progress from where it was as a baby to now is just crazy, it’s sad that it doesn’t feel the same (or maybe I’m just old now) but I’m proud of them, I’m glad they’re still going strong and it’s great to see what they can support now
I mean it does feel like a bit of a shame. Back in like 2011 it felt like everyone had a chance at making it to the top games section, it was all obbies, building games, and tycoons. Now it seems like the only games that are played are created by professional studios, kind of kills the dreamer creative side of the game that made it so unique and endearing when I was a kid.

Velocity Outlast is remake of a game Split Second released on PSP and PS3. Happy to see some people still remembers it and makes remakes in higher quality

While I stopped playing Roblox like 6 years ago or so every now and then Hop on with my youngest brother and am honestly really amazing as some of the crazy things people have made. People rat on Roblox for being a "kids game" but it actually takes some skill and effort to make a ton of the games on there. I'm 25 and enjoy playing the game with my brother every time.

Hey, if you do a part 2 could you add a game called “prior extinction”? It’s probably the best survival game and has absolute amazing models. Fun and peaceful it’s a fully working game. They made it on Roblox at start to progress it into steam. Sandbox is nice being able to pick anything you want and still many, many, many creatures to be added
For a sec I though that the game from the thumbnail was a recreation of NFS Most Wanted. Now to think about it, THAT WOULD BE PRETTY COOL, like not really a carbon copy of the story and game, but the concept and a good story to be attatched to it.

Old games that tryed to be showcases just didn't look good, mostly because roblox meshes and many more didn't exist, but now showcase games can be very datailed that you might drop fps, and also like you said, not recommended on phone.

I played a game once and it was hyper-realistic, I can’t remember the name though but it was set in japan and you played as some motherless dude and you’d have to do certain tasks to progress the game, I think end was a dialogue of his mother

Deadline is a pretty realistic FPS shooter. You get to customized your own weapons, and the shotgun even has a cool dragons breath shell that is basically just shooting fireworks at people

The second game definitely looks very unfinished, reflections are just a sky texture, looks like early PS4 lighting and PS3 assets, half of these do. Relived is the best looking one but that's probably just because of the ridiculously high res textures and high poly models, lighting looks more like late PS4. Beyond the Dark says it's the future of Roblox, but it has inconsistent texture quality, models that clearly show polygons and cheap cubemaps that don't even align properly which have been a thing since Half-Life 2 or even earlier.

the thing that ruins these graphics (and roblox in general) for me is that no matter how pretty you make the environments, you always have the discount lego minifigure lookin ass models. i just can't get over that part lol, they're so fuckin goofy and don't fit into any scenario
