in the video it was them when they younger, they were all best friends from when they were younger, The Rev died on December 28, 2009 their Album Nightmare that came out in 2010 was essentially tribute to him and the song Fiction was the last song he helped with before his passing.

8:05. That's theire former drummer James Owen "The Rev" Sullivan who died in 2009. This song is a tribute to him. The young guys in the first half of the video symbolize the bands history. All four of them were born in 1981 which means that they were 17-18 years old when the band was founded.
If you want to see Drummer "The Rev" before he died, at the Live concert at LBC 2008, I'm waiting for your reaction❤ I recommend A little piece of heaven live in LBC

Avenged Sevenfold was formed in the late 90's in Orange County, California... the band reached commercial popularity ahead of their O.C. peer bands like Bleeding Through... Eighteen Visions... they began as a metalcore band w/ melodic guitars on their first 2 albums - 'Sounding the Seventh Trumpet' (2001) and 'Waking the Fallen' (2003) on an indie label before they signed to major record label Warner Bros. Avenged Sevenfold had a solid line-up by 2005 - M. Shadows (vocals, real name Matthew Sanders), Zachy Vengeance (guitar, Zachary Baker), Synyster Gates (lead guitar, Brian Haner Jr.), Johnny Christ (bass, Jonathan Seward) and The Rev (drums, Jimmy Sullivan) ... and they released their 3rd album 'City of Evil' in '05 w/ melodic vocals by M. Shadows... It became a hit, selling a half million copies in the US (eventually platinum - 1 million copies sold) w/ hits like 'Bat country' ... 'Beast and the Harlot' ... 'Seize the day'... 4th album was self-titled in 2007... another platinum success w/ the singles - 'Afterlife'... 'Almost easy'... 'Scream'... However, tragedy struck Avenged Sevenfold in late 2009 as the band was writing a new album - Drummer Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan was found dead of an apparent prescription drug OD at age 28 (The music video for their 2010 single 'So far away' ... was about The Rev) A devastated Avenged Sevenfold opted to record their 5th album 'Nightmare' w/ drummer Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater (who was one of The Rev's favorite drummers)... It charted at #1 in the US and sold platinum again w/ the singles - 'Nightmare' ... 'Welcome to the family' ... 'Buried alive'... Arin Ilejay (drums) joined Avenged Sevenfold in 2011 and recorded their 6th album 'Hail to the King' in 2013... which charted at #1 w/ the singles - 'Hail to the king' ... 'This means war'... In 2016, Avenged Sevenfold fired Arin Ilejay and named Brooks Wackerman (drums) as his replacement... they released the album 'The Stage'... charting at #4 in the US but fell below expectations in record sales. While touring for 'The Stage'... singer M Shadows experienced vocal problems and Avenged Sevenfold had to cancel a 2018 tour so that he could recover. After the pandemic, Avenged Sevenfold finally released a new album 'Life is but a dream...' in 2023... It charted at #13 in the US and the band announced their first tour dates in 5 years. They are currently still on the road.
As I'm sure you've seen this was a tribute to "The Rev" who died in '09. Some good songs to check out are Little piece of heaven, Nightmare, Critical Acclaim, Bat Country, Hail to the King, but I really recommend Live at the LBC in 2008. Amazing show!!!
You were super close, this song was released on 2010 lol and i still cant seem to watch this video without fighting the tears, loved your reaction when you found out at the end what the song was about.😢
They're from Long Beach California. Another great song of theirs and an extremely underrated song of theirs is "Brompton Cocktail". Its also my favorite of theirs Lol
I remember seeing these guys live before anyone really knew who they were back in 02. They got heavier tracks, too. If you like these more chill like songs def check out their song "seize the day" or if you want something a little more rockin, but with a really catchy chorus "Bat Country" is a good one.
Yes! Do Iron Maiden. They are THE band that inspired me to learn guitar. I finally got to see them live for the first time last month. I can now die a happy man....
Yeah that was a band shirt at the beginning. Iron Maiden is pretty big in metal and they have been around since the genre first started. They still go on tours and release new albums in fact, and were a major inspiration for a lot of other massive metal bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and so on. They are also often a good starting point for a lot of new people to get into metal, alongside other bands like Judas Priest.
You should react to Sieze the Day by these live at the BBC. They are typically a lot heavier. This one you just watched was recorded a while back and they basically use it as a tribute for their late drummer Rev. The video is them growing up together
If you want more requests then System of a Down is a must. They're my favorite band. Literally any song😂. But some recommendations that you could choose from are Spiders, Sugar, Cigaro, Hypnotize, Question, Toxicity, Violent Pornography was the first one I heard by them, and B.Y.O.B is also a great start.
I have a few suggestions for bands to check out .. Bad Omens, falling In Reverse, Electric Callboy, Babymetal, Hanabie, Spiritbox, Jinjer, System of a Down,, Tool, new Linkin Park, Sleep Token (best rock band at the moment) .. for rap - NF and Ren .. and for Kpop (Xpop) - XG and BlackPink
The drummer they got to record the album and tour after the revs death was one of his drumming heros, mike portnoy from dream theater. The rev had a lot of the over arching concepts recorded as demos so portnoy didn't really have to add a lot.
I think this recomendation its a tuff and great because this music its is on the album nightmare and this music its a tribute of jimmy the rev sullivan who passed away.
