- The NEW Levante Trofeo is here and Maserati has made some updates for 2022. On the outside you will discover a new grill, trident, wheels, fender ports and rear bumper. On the inside there is an update in materials and finishes. Under the hood of the Levante Trofeo is a 3.8L twin-turbo V8 pumping out 580HP & mated to and 8-speed automatic transmission. Look at Joe! Pulling a Levante Trofeo out of his back pocket in Austin! Didn’t expect to see this today. Awesome Joe. Don’t like the price? Wait three years and you can pick one up for 75 to 80k with low miles. That’s how I bought my 17 Gran Turismo.

Are you sure the maintenance required cost is worth buying a 3 years old Maserati ?
@@martintokinaga5261 I don’t have an issue with the maintenance costs. Those costs are the same for a new car and you save on the depreciation. Plus you still have another year of factory warranty and I got a two year CPO from Maserati.
@@chabbysrides This is simply not true. There are standard maintenance requirement for cars at 40K, 60K...etc Some specific parts are recommended to be changed by the manufacturer. If you don't change those, you don't get any warranty left, if any. These maintenance normally started around 3-4 years or reaching 40k. Even the tyres, brake pads are required to be changed. So buying a 3-4 years old car means you inherited these costs very soon. No, you don't spend these when the car is new.

Joe, how do you not zonk that ridiculous tricolor stripe? That stripe is one of the dumbest stripes I’ve seen on a vehicle. Imagine being the person driving this SUV and looking like a try hard in life. The overall look of this suv with that stripe is just stupid.

Love the sound of Maserati engine. I drove quattroporte years ago and sound was amazing.
It also had fuel economy meter that was only in green when idling. As soon as you stepped on gas, it went to red 🤣
One of these pulled up beside me at a gas station once and when the owner started it up and left I was surprised on how awesome it sounds. The Levantes in my area seem to be favoured by firefighters judging by their speciality license plates and stickers.
Love this SUV, but for $154K it should have stitched leather on the door tops, not soft touch. Middle of the steering wheel too.
$154k now. $40k in 2023. Maserati’s are stupid terrible on resale.

I’ve noticed the Italian manufacturers use small V8’s with turbos that are the size of others V6’s. I guess the engine compartments being smaller is the reason. 230MPH Speedo is kinda funny. Have this exact color combo in a 2019 Levante Gransport. Absolutely love it. Don’t understand the hate for Maserati. A Urus is well over 2 bills. And a Durango Hellcat? Be serious. Could they have chromed out the switch gear? Sure. Wouldn’t have cost much to do it. But I don’t buy a car for the switch gear. Lol. That’s something that dope Doug would do.

The stripe down the car looks cheap and a poor afterthought by some marketing insider. This is a $150K vehicle. That Stripe is a design disgrace. imho.
I like it, but honestly this thing doesn't have anything on a BMW SUV like the X5 or 6 M Competition. The BMW interior definitely blows this thing out of the water. In fact this video shows just how far behind Maserati is.
I think I would’ve preferred the tri-colori accented in the fender vents rather than the red 🤔

Nobody in the right minds would buy this thing brand new. A slightly pre-owned one will be half the price. But then I doubt many will even entertain that option.
I have a Levante and it’s not in the same ball park as the Urus. It’s a fun nice car but there’s a reason sticker is 154 and within two years it will be under 100. The urus pays attention to the details. That’s why used urus models still sell for over MSRP.

It costs more than the dodge but the money Maserati spent was on the carbon fiber and Alcantara and real vents and heat exchangers..real quad exaust real cross drilled rotors.(that's sexy) the only thing I don't like is the 1 thin Italian stripe.
Nothing against the Italians but it should be a lot wider and centered up and spread out along the (bulge)(your favorite part..lol,..she's expensive but it is Italian..so it's par for course...its not Lamborghini ures priced thank God but it will hold its own and its sexy..for a suv my favorite is the quuadraporte.

Since Maserati is under the same umbrella as Dodge,Ram and Jeep,I have a great deal of confidence that the Levante will share the same heritage with those performance-minded giants,albeit with European refinement and Italian passion.
Quick aside:Chrysler used to own Lamborghini and borrowed from their engineering experience and expertise to convert their cast-iron block V-10, which was designed for trucks, and told Lamborghini engineers to make it suitable for the future Dodge Viper. You can still find traces of that heritage in the Hellcat editions of the Dodge,Jeep and Ram.
OVERPRICED ...... The tri color tape stripe is tacky , Hairnets on the back of front seats is UNACCEPTABLE in a 150K SUV . I will buy the Durango Hellcat

Good looking SUV, great presentation as always, but overpriced.
I leased a Levante when they first came out back in ‘17. Mine was the base version but it had nearly $20K in options. It was the showroom floor Levante so it had to be beautiful obviously. Let me tell you something, if don’t option it out, the interior is ugly. It looks like you’re driving a $10K car. So remember people, if you buy/lease this, you’ll want to add options to actually make the interior feel luxurious. And like Porsche, they’ll nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING. You’ll understand what I mean when they give you a plain loaner to drive during your service. It’s horrid lol.
Now all the good stuff. The braking, handling, exterior styling, engine and especially the SOUND is what you expect from Maserati. Definitely a head turner. I was getting compliments EVERYWHERE I went. I couldn’t tell you how many people would walk up to me and start asking questions. I miss those days. 🙂

Those superchargers are nothing to play with sadly everyone is going towards turbo, Jaguar, Land Rover, Dodge are the few that still have supercharger car I believe
