@@ZeniaRose Vanya was a giant letdown in my eyes honestly. Both design and performance-wise. But 5 was top-notch perfect!
He took a page out of Daniel Day Lewis' method acting playbook and spent 8 months in a retirement home to prepare. Isn't that amazing?
This show was filmed in my city. The place that plays The Academy is an old bar I used to work at.

Fun Fact: The Umbrella Academy was created by Gerard Way lead singer of My Chemical Romance and it is published under Dark Horse who owns the Hellboy comics, basically the Umbrella Academy are a bunch of gifted adopted kids kinda like a x-men vibe

I binge watched the entire first season the day after a major surgery (less than 24 hours later) and was so groggy and drugged through the whole thing I thought I hallucinated it. Wasn't sure it was real until the teasers for season 2 came out

4:18 This is the second time recently that I've come across a mention of the existence of fake reactions on RUclips, which is not something I've experienced (as far as I know), though I guess it doesn't surprise me that there are people like that.
It’s so disappointing when you realize someone is faking their “first” reaction. I once saw someone mouthing the dialog as it was being spoken by the actor.
@@seekermel3079 was their subtitles? I do that when reading subtitles all the time. But if not... That's scummy. Unless the diologue was _insanely_ predictable... Theres no way they could know. Lmao.
@@AnxietyRat No subtitles and it was a memorable bit of dialog. Not like a well known catch phrase, but something you’d remember enjoying if you’d just watched the movie and maybe replayed it a couple of times. (Oh, is it just me that does that?)

think about this rationally.
does it make any sense that there is people out there who havent watched hundreds of movies. so with no frame of references on movies most reactors can in depth analyze, evaluate and reference movies while knowing all of the actors? think about it.

If you guys enjoy the more odd and quirky aspects and emotional characters of this show, "Doom Patrol" on HBO Max does these things a bit better in my opinion. I definitely think y'all should give it a shot!

Thank you for being respectful to elliot:) just to let you know how to word it correctly for future use, rather than saying “she came out as a he” word it as “he came out as a man” as saying she is still incorrect. Thank you for trying though. And yes, Vanya is still a woman I’m pretty sure, so using she for the character is fine, unless they decide to change it.
She is a woman tho but identifies as a man. so she and he is both correct I’d say

genetically and biologically she was born ellen page. thats a fact. its called transgender and transition surgery for a reason. you transition, you change what you were. because ellen page was naturally born a woman. I would address her as elliot as thats what he wants to be addressed as. but its undeniable that he was born as a 100% biological woman. nobody can be blame for calling him a man. nobody can be blamed for calling her a woman. as much as we need to respect a transgenders wishes we also need to respect people who address her after the gender she was factually born as. all Im saying. cant force people to live in your belief system.
@@lightup6751 why do you continue to say “she” and his dead name. By status, he is a man. He is a transgender male. Yes he was assigned female at birth, and people referred to him as a different name, as people thought he was a woman in gender. Medically speaking, a transgender man has a brain far more similar to another man’s brain than a women’s. Do your research. He is clearly a transitioning male. Calling him by his previous pronouns and names is factually incorrect. Do you call a king, prince, simply because he was born a prince? The facts have changed. Its not difficult to understand. If you are unaware of his transition, sure this mistake can be made. After knowing the facts, and continuing to disrespect someone is just deep rooted ignorance. Respect people and their lives. Or would you rather continue spreading hate and old information. I was born a baby, am I still a baby? Whether naturally or synthetically, elliot was a woman and he is now a man.

as far as i know, vanya goes by she/her (could change in the new season, who knows) but elliot page uses he/him and they/them pronouns. so you wouldnt say she identifies as a man, you would say he is a man. you would use he/him pronouns referring to elliot, or they/them work as well! :)
