I’m almost 70 years old…when I was 13 my brother, God rest his soul, gave me their 3rd album……a week later I bought the 2nd…I can say they helped inspire me to understand not just rock and roll but the blues as well…sitting in front of old high fi record player, that my mother enjoyed listening with me…😮🤘
As a long time Zep fan, I have always been on a quest to hear EVERYTHING they have ever done. That is a tall order, what with all these bootlegs that are surfacing on the internet. This is an awesome collection of live outtakes and covers. They really rocked up the tunes!!!! Zep forever!!!
As a late teen I'd visit the flea market record booth to buy any new Zep bootleg albums they had gotten in. The best album I bought was an outstanding double album called Live on Blueberry Hill with a near studio quality. I lent it out, never to see it again. Live n learn...🎸🎶✌🏼
I have an old bootleg LP that I have owned since 1971. It is a plain particle paper tan sleeve; the only identification is "Pb" poorly rubber stamped diagonally, in black; the album labels announce sides "1" and "2". It has various Zep tunes from albums 1 to 3, including an extended "Heartbreaker" where Page starts to play the solo, then slows down to illustrate the individual note sequences, starts again with the nut bends and even plays an excerpt of "Lute in D" by JS Bach, before continuing the rest of the song. The material is all live and noisy to today's tastes... It doesn't have anything from beyond '3'. Haven't played it in many years, so it's hard to recall... I do know I would frequently take it to friends parties over the years, and it is not pristine. I'm sure a computer whiz of 15 could clean it up...

I will always love their live performances but it can not be avoided the historical fact that they plagiarized a lot of music and were sued for it. Just saying.

This album is songs they had on the back-burner's just like the The album (Coda) if you listen to this and coda, you'll hear All the similarities of their early days of jamming and putting songs together. Jimmy has probably ALOT more material that will most likely surface.. People like Us will gladly pay tribute to the most regarded band in history..

Zep were great fans of Eddie Cochran. Really good cover of C'mon Everybody. In the BBC sessions you can find the cover of Somethin' Else, also excellent. They loved rock'n roll.
Wow! I'd imagine these tracks were recorded throughout the tenure of the band. From 1968 - 1980. The cover of Long Talk Sally has some great guitar playing. Thanks 👍🏼
I collected several bootlegs back in the day, (III to Get Ready, IV to Go, Tangible Vandalism, some that later came out as the BBC Sessions, etc.) and the only one of these tracks I've heard is the second one. Cannot thank you enough for posting this. Rock On!

The end of swan song sounds like midnight moonlight lady. These sound like recordings made while developing songs. Very interesting indeed. They were a wonderful group of accomplished players. Its nice to hear stuff that hasn't been overplayed on the radio. I really wish Jimmy would release some more songs they had developed but not released, from his vault of recoudings.
I wondered if anybody else caught that! Lol! Good ears, my friend. I saw Zep at MSG in NYC in 1977. I miss them. They captured/created an age in music. My younger brother & I played a lot of LZ in our band when we were young men. My brother passed 18 years ago. He was a great guy & a great bassist. I miss him, too, so much. Peace.
When you have so many great songs it is little wonder that these got dropped from the album list. Any other band would be proud to habe them on thier albums. It just goes to show what a great band Led Zep was - and still is.

I collected several bootlegs back in the day, (III to Get Ready, IV to Go, Tangible Vandalism, some that later came out as the BBC Sessions, etc.) and the only one of these tracks I've heard is the second one. Cannot thank you enough for posting this. Rock On!

Zeppelin is undoubtedly one of the best groups but the best is difficult to say because the seventies produced so many talented groups and musicians.

The end of swan song sounds like midnight moonlight lady. These sound like recordings made while developing songs. Very interesting indeed. They were a wonderful group of accomplished players. Its nice to hear stuff that hasn't been overplayed on the radio. I really wish Jimmy would release some more songs they had developed but not released, from his vault of recoudings.
I wondered if anybody else caught that! Lol! Good ears, my friend. I saw Zep at MSG in NYC in 1977. I miss them. They captured/created an age in music. My younger brother & I played a lot of LZ in our band when we were young men. My brother passed 18 years ago. He was a great guy & a great bassist. I miss him, too, so much. Peace.

When you have so many great songs it is little wonder that these got dropped from the album list. Any other band would be proud to habe them on thier albums. It just goes to show what a great band Led Zep was - and still is.
