The music of Led Zeppelin, known in adolescence, continues to give me energy and interest that so much new music cannot give me. I believe without a doubt that into adulthood one carries with him what he loved in his youth,

In the late 80s, I was a freshman in high school and started playing some of my dad’s vinyl. He died when I was 8. I spent the next 4 years engrossed in Zeppelin. About midway through college, I put it down as I had listened to it so much, I couldn’t anymore. I went down a lot of music rabbit holes in the following decade+, all kinds of directions. I would have never been that diverse of a music connoisseur had I not been prepared by the legends. Fast forward 30 years, and here I am again. Going all out. This time, I have teenagers and I’m sharing the love. Zeppelin is timeless, inexhaustible, deep, expansive, and a band for the ages. Sooo much love!

Music brings you back to haunting times in the past - in the summer of 1971, I was in the US Army stationed in Ubon, Thailand and living in the Siam Hotel. I had this album on a cassette tape. I was more into Jimi Hendrix and really did not appreciate the artistry of Led Zeppelin at that time. I do now in 2024.

      @Mark-tz6ie 7 месяцев назад +2

Jimi is a worthy hold on one's attention, and he was definitely overwhelming, like Zeus throwing thunderbolts. Led Zeppelin was atmospheric at the time but now, with how Hendrix stretched our ears to virtuosity, spatially, poetry, new rhythms, we come back the wiser to reevaluate the Leds. They are superb.

FOREVER my FAVORITE band of all time. I distinctly remember humming “Good Times Bad Times” at my desk in first grade in inner-city Detroit, Michigan (this would’ve been approximately 1979; I was 6 six years old). They were Gods to me. And their music still is the stuff of myths and legends, especially my faves “Whole Lotta Love,” “Ramble On,” “That’s The Way,” “Black Dog,” “Over the Hills and Far Away,” “The Song Remains The Same,” “Bron-Yr-Aur,” “In My Time of Dying,” “Nobody’s Fault But Mine,” “In The Evening,” Travelling Riverside Blues, “Hey Hey What Can I Do,” and my all-timer, “When The Levee Breaks” (but believe me, at least half of each album are faves). Every single member was brilliant as a musician, and as a guitar player I wouldn’t be one had it not been for James Patrick “Jimmy” Page. Their music will live on FOREVER!

Oh Rosie,. I was 8 years and 10 days old when Led dropped this on the world. Thankfully, I had an older brother. This album was the bend in the hockey stick of my musical formation.

      Unreal how great they are!
Perplexing how these musicians came together.
I and all they're fans still get goosebumps listening to this music that talks to your soul.

One important consideration is that Led Zep is not only electric guitar, it's the perfect marriage of acoustic instruments and electricity. They all 4 can be proud of that. Not many bands around the world can claim such a feat.

That`s an easy one to answer , there`s been NOTHING since worth listening to ! The 50s / 60s did the lot

Hands down, the 70s was the best decade for music.

This was released in '69. The pioneers were from the 60's which carried on to the early 70's.

I was in High School when Led Zeppelin was the bomb.
After High School and pumping Led Zeppelin thru BOSE-901’s in college out my dorm room window
    I played in bands for 27 yrs…….
I decided to take the gloves off and go for it and see what happens.
Yesterday I played my vinal LP LZ1 five times in a row to see if I could get sick of Led Zeppelin.
Instead of getting tired or sick of Zeppelin, the more I came to the understanding
that Led Zeppelin I is unequivocally the hardest hitting opening salvo hurricane of musical carpet bombing in the history of music.
Mankind should be more interested in listening to Led Zeppelin than killing each other.
I think I will flip the album and listen again…….and again.
