    Just a suggestion. While you test 0-100, can you also test 80-120 but from cruising rpm and floor the accelerator, this is closer to real-life situation when you need to accelerate hard to overtake a truck or on a narrow road. Some car might have a lot of power but the downshift of the gearbox is laggy and you need to wait for the turbo to build up pressure to give you all the punch.

    I bought a 2015 LX570 and I take it off-road regularly. Biggest difference compared to a Prado or Landcruiser is that at 80km/h on dirt rutted roads the Lexus is absolutely quiet. The Prado/Landcruisers have that tyre roar.
    Downside is that approach angle is bad ,departure is fine. I’ve already scratched front bumper.
    Looked at a Range Rover but my mechanic scared me. Said that Range Rovers struggle with reliability issues on bitumen. Has never seen anyone regularly off-road Range Rovers but was scared to find out.
    Anyway the Lexus is just a better all round choice. Luxurious and quiet around town and a 80% offroad ability of a Landcruiser.
    Just swap the wheels for 20s and then at least you can put the largest AT wheels on it and go off road.

    What a great review, I always enjoy your unbiassed reporting, it always seems very fair. I considered the Lexus over and above the ZX Sahara, and compared the two side by side and evaluated which would be a better vehicle to buy, for me anyway. Looks, are very subjective and the choice between these two was very easy, The ZX looks more robust, less blingy and with the availability of many more aftermarket accessories, that’s an easy choice between them. Not a great fan of the front or the rear of the Lexus. Interior I must say is also a very personal choice, and although you mention that the interior is light years in front of the ZX, is in my opinion, not my view at all, Yes, there are many beautiful enhancements in the Lexus which I would love to have, but unfortunately, I feel it’s a little over the top, particularly in the rear which I don’t feel the reduced space and limiting the passengers to only two, really justifies the need for a full reclining and massage rear seat…. I personally would hate to be the driver whilst my passenger is in the back stretched out…I wouldn’t like the experience being the driver at all, but that’s just me. Putting money totally aside, I could go on for many pages discussing the differences and if they are really enhancements, or just a bit of useless bling. Nevertheless, I chose the ZX because it’s what I preferred, but I’m sure there are many which disagree. Once you go into the territory of this level of luxury, I would choose the Range Rover Sport Autobiography every day of the week. Having had 3 of them prior, I didn’t even consider the Lexus to be in that territory at all. To me, it’s just a less offensive looking Toyota Granvia with 4x4 capability.

      How high can the LX get in the highest suspension mode?

  • @AeroDr
    @AeroDr Год назад +5

    It's not the same engine as an Aurion; the 2GR-FE is a 3,456cc (94mm bore x 83mm stroke) engine; it did come in direct injection as the 2GR-FKS in the IS350 and RX350. The LX600 uses the V35A-FTS, which is a 3,444cc engine (85.5mm bore x 100mm stroke). It's part of the Dynamic Force engine family. The V35 is marketed as a 3.5L engine because in many markets with taxes based on engine displacement, it is classified as a 3.5L unit, but if being pedantic it's actually 3.4L (3,444cc).

    • @valentinorossi7771
      @valentinorossi7771 Год назад

      3444 is a 3.4l but had it been 3451 cc (cc bigger) then it would be 3.5. Ford Mustang V8 has 4951 cc displacement and is considered being 5.0 L

    • @AeroDr
      @AeroDr Год назад

      @@valentinorossi7771 It makes sense to use for marketing what can be a regulatory hurdle. In Pakistan for example, the 1.3L Honda City got taxed the same as an an engine marketed as 1.4L because it was 1331cc. Same with the LC300...mathematically it might be 3.4 but from a taxation PoV in many Asian countries it's a 3.5L engine because it's more than 3401cc.

    if its so massive then how big is the bigger nissan patrol y62? i will say the 6 cylinder sounded like a 6 cylinder which sounds like shit compared to a big block v8 whats with the turbo lagg you had to press brakes to give the little 6 time to spool up, but i guess with those tiny weeny 31 inch dinner plates it should accelerate a bit harder, love the wood grain just like the y62 already has along with the crome, go the diesel, i bet u missus smells like a mechanic every time she uses the truck diesel pump or does she glove up...

    It's a nice step up from the LX570 but the center stack is a fragmented mess with multiple screens. The tacked on infotainment screen is what manufacturers were doing over 5 years ago on mid-model run updates- this isn't something I'd expect from a brand new model like this. Also, I'd expect massaging seats and a panoramic sunroof at this price range- my 2016 Ford pickup truck came with that at half the price. I don't see double the value here for the LX when compared to the GX; the LX just seems overpriced and lacking features it should have released with.
