You should have measured the ground clearance from the middle (transfercase) and/or front diff. The rear solid axle height (clearance) does not change regardless in which height mode you are. There are two type of ground clearance, minimum and running. Many manufacture state running because it gives you a higher number than the minimum like the Ram Power Wagon which has running ground clearance of 13 inches but minimum ground clearance of 8.1 inches when measured from the rear axle.

Okay after 5 reviews of this vehicle and 15 yrs of limo business in DC, I’m going to review/explain this Ultra Luxury trim. “It’s not for private use”.
Part of limos is “sedan service” and there aren’t any good sedan service cars anymore which has been a nightmare for limo services.
25 yrs ago we started putting private jet seating in them which is what’s in this LX 600. Those type c’s are DP & charging which means if you’re like 70% of Americans you have RUclips or RUclips TV etc., on your phone because you stream when at home and it’s free to add to your phone, so you’re able to watch tv while riding from 1600 Pennsylvania ave DC to Dulles IA during one of our typical 12-15” snow storms and you don’t have to hold your iPad up in front of your face like a 5 yr old .
We sold all our old Town Cars for Lexus LX’s decades ago and then spent another $30k to do what Lexus now does for us from the factory. Robert has 6 of these on order.
Why the hell Lexus sent this to all the RUclips reviewers is beyond me, I can only assume it’s all they had at the time. If you’re not familiar with limousines and especially limos in snow country you’ll have no clue what that is, BUT how the hell did you not know what those Type C’s are for and especially from a RUclips reviewer… WHAT!!
PS the HDMI is for some Windows devices.

As an executive service vehicle why would you pick this instead of an Escalade, Tahoe or GLE? And how often do you need MTC and Crawl? I’ve been a passenger in hundreds of cars (airport service) and I’ve never been picked up in an LX. (Which is actually good because there is no way to fit a tripod case in the back of this LX trim.)

    • @drivingsports
      @drivingsports  Год назад +2

I thought the same when he brought up the iPad thing. Tablets are great and a pain when you have to hold them up. Ryan spends too much time on technology crap anyhow. Used to be driving meant eyes on the road but now all this technology means the people who love driving are dodging those admiring their tech. This isn't really an American vehicle but was used to fill the vacated slot.

Was able to see the articulation and the air suspension working and I was very impressed.
Luxury off-road and engineering at its best is what you get with either of these beast period.
I wish I could afford the LX-600 or even the previous LX-570.

With the large width of the center console and how everything seems to wrap around your waist, knees and elbows, it somewhat reminded me of sitting in the back of a UX. Though, not literally the same, I really wish they gave it 1.5" to 2" more in between the wheelbase. And where's the trim with the rear locker and E-KDSS... More to your point that chicken would have to lay 307,272 eggs to afford the purchase. She should probably consider a more reasonable vehicle like the Toyota Corolla.

We have chickens, down to just two silkies now. They’re not to interested in my 4 runner, more what my wife brings out for daily treats. I would keep my eye on the girl though, she had the peek on that truck

@@drivingsports That is only because you are not considering golden eggs. Must replace the chicken with the goose that lays the golden eggs. Then it would only be about 50K eggs. 🥚

Once they gave the new Sequoia a rear locker and a TRD package, I new that was the new ‘Land Cruiser’ for America.

Hoping they make a non-hybrid (no need for batteries under a third row), 2-row Sequoia. That would be a proper US-Spec LC.

@@drivingsports I agree! I feel like a basic trim without batteries(with steelies like God intended) would be a great blank canvas for which off-roaders and overlanders could apply their preferences.

Toyota/Lexus boggles my mind. It’s like they don’t talk to their customers AT ALL when designing ANYTHING. The Supra being built by BMW, this executive car being the only Land Cruiser available, the Tacoma only being available in luxury trims, the Hilux being unobtanium in the US but widely available in Mexico, the Yaris? What the hell is the Yaris doing in the US market? The GR Corolla being a 3 cylinder when the standard Corolla comes standard with a 4 cyl.

Mexico allows sale of ECE standard cars like the Hilux. The us doesn't. That's not a Toyota problem. That's a us government problem.
