Bob, so one of the rules of machine shop work is no long sleeves, gloves, or anything that something spinning might grab hold of.... so chain any gloves would be chance for a slip up to grab the glove... and then who knows what would happen. But, thank you for the idea!

Always something to do that is potentially hazardous to your health. Could you use chain mail gloves or something similar as a safety precaution?

The Saw Doctor (Brett Winebarger) says you should do that with the saw stopped, not spinning.
