Who should I react to next and are you ready for our Halloween Reactions Night: ruclips.net/video/C_FbjT4OlJU/видео.html Don't forget to ring the bell 🔔for notifications so you don't miss it!
Since you like Gregorian chants, you may want to listen to a song by Enigma, called "Sadeness". It was a big hit back in 1990, and it kind of brought Gregorian chants to the mainstream.
Aha it is Peter Hollens, not Eric Hollaway - Sixteen Tons. Eric starts deeper and stays deeper. A true but unknown oktavist (lower than a Bass).
What can you say about Peter hollens he's just awesome I'm surprised he hasn't commented on your review yet but he does that because he loves reactors he says it helps him get better
Tomi P. has a new one Lullaby of Woe from the Witcher or The Bass Gang's version of Hide and Seek featuring Lauren Paley. You will like them both.
You should really listen to this with some decent monitors and a actual subwoffer instead of some shitty headphones and yes I don't care if they cost $20,000 they still don't come close to speakers and a sub.
12:36 - holy. crap. not ONE person called me out on that and you did... ev totally came in and sang that top note for me because I couldn't make it sound good enough.... (wifey is also a professional singer, and at the time our studio was in the garage so was easy to run into the kitchen and pull her in to sing it haahha)
Oh, cool it came out really nicely! Great job! 🌺🎶💖
It's a complement that no-one noticed Peter because everyone thinks so highly of you! 😄
oh so thats sooooo good very bea-u-tiful(haha)
8:06 I love answering these haha sooo - Actually on this one I did ALL the backs, and then added the AMAZING mr. foust so it's like 90-110 tracks of way to much peter, and then one track of THE MONSTER TIMOTHY OF THE FOUST ;)
Wow that's amazing! 💖🤗👍
Peter- yours here with Tim is the absolutely most beautiful arrangement! You’re a brilliant arranger among other gifts!
This is so beautiful. Tim's stare makes me want to bow and say "Yes, sir. Right away, sir. How fast would you like me to row, sir?"
They end it at the best part so you're always left wanting more...😯🤭🤫
This is my favorite version of this song. The contrast in voices is beautiful. Peter in the higher tenor ranges & then paired with the true natural bass voice of Tim. And that last dragon's breath note is truly remarkable & how long he sustains it. Peter & Tim have collaborated on quite a few other songs & they are all beautiful. Peter is a master at layering voices. Check out "Sound Of Silence", "Bridge Over Troubled Water", "Greensleeves", "Fire & Rain", "Teach Your Children", "Sunshine On My Shoulders", "You Can Close Your Eyes", "And So It Goes" & "Blackbird".
Peter is a master at layerings music tracks and he used somewhere between 110 to 120 layers for the choral choir background vocals in this video. This was a masterpiece. Thank you for reacting to this and you should check out more of Peter and Tim collaborations. They have done at least 12 collaboration. You have a blessed day
And I heard somewhere that Tim only recorded one track, so the rest is all Peter!
Love their version of Greensleeves 🙂
Peter layered 128 tracts 64 of Tim and Peter singing. IF you watch Tim's shoulders from the LAST 20 Seconds you Will See his clothes Vibrate hard as Tim ROCKS the Cam with his voice. Tim was in the US Virgin Islands and Peter was in Ca. when they made this.
You should do Peter Hollens and Avi Kaplan in Black Is The Color.
If the mountain could sing it's theme, it would sound just like that. Tim being the mountain, and Peter being the mist
I love the collaboration of Peter and Tim. They harmonize fantastically well together. Tim's bass is so great. And if you look closely, you can see the camera shake on Tim's last note. Great reaction!
You make EVERY piece of music richer for me - pointing out various layers and aspects of the selection (with NOTHING to distract). Maggie, when you apply your rich knowledge and experience, I sincerely appreciate music more intelligently. Thank you!
As an aside, Peter and Tim just released an album of the two of them. It's out of this world. Some of the songs are on You Tube.
Love this album! Beautiful Duets is beautiful.
Such a great combo of talent. Always super fun.
Those harmonies are just gorgeous. The only thing wrong with this version is that you were not invited to join them. You would be a perfect fit with these guys! Definitely want more of this - thanks Maggie!
You do know that Home Free is always going to throw something at you...as a group, or solo.
Wasn’t that tremendous?!! This is from the Hobbit and I loved their film and costumes too. It’s hauntingly beautiful. Yes, Peter used 120 tracks. He’s incredible. If you watch Tim again you’ll see the camera shake on that last note. Amazing. They have many collaborations. I love And So It Goes and Greensleeves but they have others and they’re all good. They’ve also announced they’re doing an album too. Yay!!! Love your analysis. Thank you so much for explaining everything. 🥰😍
I love music that can take you to another place or time.
I love the contrast in that final verse! An Incredible one that you should react to is Avi and Peter singing "Black is the colour of my true love's hair"
I actually remember this live. I think I was the one that said "it reminds me of Gregorian Chants". I still love this track so much
🤗💟 Can't wait to see you today at the Premiere and tomorrow on the Live Stream! Happy Holidays! 🤗💟
Holy cheese muffins. That's hilarious.
Never knew Tim was in "Hell“ (Grand Caymans) but, it makes sense, lol! You'd have to be in hell to reach that note at the end, not to mention, the ability to sustain that note!!!
He went so low my eye twitched 😂
I love that the lowest note is on the word 'tall' !!!!!
i love how much you love this song
Your facial expressions and reactions are so fun, funny, and just crack me up!
Awesome reaction, I enjoyed it... Liked and Subb. Thank you! Here's another Great Singers from the Philippines,
Please react to a Filipino girl group sings ‘BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER’ (So Hyang Version) by 4TH IMPACT Cover Tnx.
Love your reactions to Peter and Home Free and it's members... They are SO talented, every single one of them!
Tim's voice can definitely move 🏔⛰
Thank you for your comment. Hope to see you on my LIVE stream in 1 hour?
That was Peter with that mad high note. He has a crazy range. His wife Evynne also has a crazy range, but he would have said if that were her. :)
Absolutely stunning, these two are magic together. Those layers are just beautiful. Fantastic job Maggie!
I was taken right in on this song. I love these two together. Every song they have collaborated on have been fantastic!
I saw u on someone's compilations of reactions n I knew that i had to find u. I could tell that u were savoring every note. Should have known that u r a vocalist. ❤
Maggie I love the version of Amazing Grace, that Peter and Home Free do is the best version of the song on RUclips in my opinion. They layer with the 6 people.
Peter claimed, I believe, 112 overlays of voices between him and Tim.
I love how exited you get. Beautiful smile and eyes
I understand that these two recorded this while they were actually thousands of miles apart.
They were not even n the same country when they filmed this. Peter is a master at layering and Tim's voice is butter. Love your reaction Maggie 🙂
Thank you for your comment. Hope to see you on my LIVE stream in 1 hour?
Tim hitting that G#1 in this and it's the same guy who has those beautiful highs on Home Free's cover of Mayday. Dude is super talented. Right up there with Geoff Castellucci for sure. I saw on Instagram that Tim and Geoff and Avi Kaplan are working on a collaboration. Can't wait to see that one. Great reaction as always, Maggie!
They say to leave them wanting more! Well, there you go!
Peter is brilliant.
maggie that lst note is amazing..but what i loved was it started on fare well we call..with no breath until the end...crazy
Have you seen the video of Home Free singing at a festival/ fair and Tim blows out a speaker with his low note
I have been waiting for you to watch this one!
Awesome reaction! Those two sound amazing together.
My favourite song by these two is Greensleeves but they have duetted on some great songs.
Can't you just hear Geoff Castellucci and Tim doing this together? They could even to the high parts together. Boggles the mind.
Who do we have to bribe for that to happen?
Well, Geoff has his own version of this, called Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold. I like to play them back to back when I'm out and about, which just leaves me breathless.
Add Avi Kaplan and Tim Storms, and the mountains will tremble.
@@edminchau811 Maybe Tomi Pizúr as well, the more the better.
Peter Hollens is known for his layering. He is masterful at it. It sounds just as full when it's just Peter singing. This song is from the movie "The Hobbit" and their costumes are very appropriate. I'd love to hear you react to Peter singing "Shenandoah". It's a "solo" but the layering is superb (and it's a beautiful song).
Another from the Hobbit series I'd recommend if you haven't done it already is I See Fire. Written and sung by Ed Sheeran over the end credits of The Desolation of Smaug, just the beauty of this song make me want to get into the movies. Peter's version is beautiful and awesome.
Hey Maggie, I think you might enjoy some other duets between these 2. The first is: Greensleeves - Peter Hollens ft Tim Foust. The second is Black Bird - Peter Hollens Ft Tim Foust. Peter is a master at blending multiple tracks into a cohesive whole. These two were filmed with them in much closer proximity than Misty Mountain. Peter often does collaborations with other artists and I haven’t heard even one that was not spot on glorious. I really enjoy the variety on your channel and the fact that you truly love music in general. Keep up the good work!
Recommend you listen to Peter singing with Home Free, “I still haven’t found what I’m looking for”. Great engineering as with all Peter Hollens work. Includes around 350 of their followers accompanying them
Tim is the Mountain!
This is awesome! Thank you ^_^
Prepare yourself LOL Peter watches a lot of reactions and comments on a lot of them (always in a nice way though)
Tim and Prter have collaborate on several songs. They are putting out a joint album soon.
Peter Hollens is one of those rare people with a 5-6 octave range. In his case, it is from baritone up to dizzying heights.
i don't even know how many hundrets of times i heard that song in the last few years
Why did they leave it at its best? The classic performance dictum, "Always leave them wanting more."
You haven't seen this?!! Absolutely breathtaking
This one is kind of remix where Tim treats us to his subterranean range. But Peter has a very impressive range and was doing the base himself and the original
The first time I heard Home Free was in a video of Amazing Grace they collaborated on with Peter. You might like that one, too.
this is abut the umpteenth time I have seen someone react to this one. Still love to see the reactions and i love the way they do it.
Stare at the screen when Tim drops that note. The camera is literally shaking.
⛰⬇ It is like a sonic wall of joy! Even though it is a sort of lament about a tragedy... it haunts, it moves.... it makes me want to make the journey!
green sleeves by them is magnificent
When they recorded this Peter was in the Pacific Northwest and Tim was in the Cayman Islands,
Headphones or a good sound system are HIGHLY recommended for this!!! You can literally feel the bass in their voices.
I did not see it in your list of videos, but if you have not listened to it yet, you need to check out Tim Foust's solo work "Will you still love me tomorrow / Stay". This is all Tim and his full range. Guaranteed to blow your mind.
And this is not the only collab that Peter and Tim have done. Peter has also collab with Avi from Pentatonix. You really need to check out Peter's channel m more.
Actually, the sample you played is Sarum plainsong, an English version of chant. But it does give a taste of very early Western music...
Given the song is in G#... he hit a G#1 and not an Ab1 :p Peter's range is just absolutely insane. In his chest voice, he is like a baritenor, then he kicks in the mixed, head voice, and falsetto to become a countertenor+.
17:50 I notice hearing this song again that not only are their voices pitch together but also the modulation of the pitch too. I think this is the first reaction you have done where their is multiplication of a persons voice to intentionally recreating vocal chant.
Every lord of the rings and hobbit fan love you for doing this one
I wondered if you were going to react to this. It’s to good for words. Unbelievable, right??
It's why I like Tim more then other bases out there now.
You’re amazing!
Peter and the whole Home Free gang do a great job on "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". This one really connects with the Peter Hollen/Home Fries crowd (wink, wink).
Nicely done 👏🍻
Wonderful reaction! ⛰
Tim going subsonic never fails to amaze.
The Misty Mountains song was great!!! And Maggie is super great!!!!!!!
I’m Catholic and grew up hearing Gregorian chant from time to time. I wonder if that has something to do with why I’ve been so drawn to Peter Hollens’ music. ❤
Have you heard Peter and Avi Kaplan doing Black Is The Color Of My True Love's Hair? If not, you really should.
I don't remember where, but I read that Jenika Foust (Tim's Wife), also backed them in parts in the performance. She is a Mezzo Seprano.
'A flat or G sharp'.... I just call it Dragon fire...!
They were at different places for the Videoshot. But they did it on the same time.
The voice recording is a different story, I think.
It’s Boss man!
I am not sure if you noticed at the end there, but as Tim is that last note, if you look at his shoulders you will notice that they added a camera shake into the video
I just love you!
In the late 90s and early 2000s, there was a group that called themselves "Gregorian". They release several albums around that time, taking famous songs and singing them in the Gregorian Choir style.
I recommend checking them out if you haven't. Especially the early albums
Another great group from that time, is ERA. Their song "Ameno" is just amazing, and still sends shivers down my spine when I hear it.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I LOVE Gregorian chants!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
All the singing is all Peter and Tim, even the choir background harmonies.
Check out an older endeavor by Peter - “The Sky Rim Theme” (full Dovakhiin song), then the video of Lindsey Stirling andPeter Hollens “Sky Rim” (official music video)
The song is the same, adding Lindsey and her violin, done to a nice story telling video, full costumes and video production. I think you will enjoy.
In the Movie "the Hobbit the unexpected journey", it was sung by "13 Dwarfs" in Bilbo's Hobbit Hole.
My personal favorit is still Geoff's, but while you are at this look up the Wellermans version also
Wayfaring Stranger/Sound of Silence - Adam Chance/The Hound+The Fox
check out Peter & Avi doing Black is the color of my true love's hair
If you want to see more of Peter’s brilliant layering, you should check out his Song of the Lonely Mountain. I love it.
Hi Maggie, great reaction i thought you already did a reaction to this a year ago?? Please can you react to Tim Foust solo version of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay he can sing as high as Peter Hollen well not quite but not far off
if you watch the video carefully when Tim hits that last not the camera vibrates
And now you need to listen to their duet on Greensleeves. It is amazing.
I'd like to see you compare Geoff Castellucci's version of Shenandoah (bass cover) and the same song by Michael Landon from the old TV Western Bonanza. Michael Landon was a tenor but wasn't known for his singing - he did an awesome job. But, Geoff hits some notes that almost vibrate the ground. Both great.
