    To me Freya is the best youtube vocal coach; and I’ve watched dozens. I never imagined in my wildest dreams I would improve this much, after years of little progress. 😄🎶

      Same here, Reggie. I no longer strain my throat when singing. Thank you, Freya!! You really are the best vocal teacher on RUclips, and objectively as great as voice teachers come. :)

    I lift up my head stretching the neck when I STUFF my mouth with popcorn - it helps so they don’t fall off. I may try a high note simultaneously: there will be a happy cloud of floating popcorn above the note.

    I agree with u @Reggie Martin, I did try a couple of Vocal Coaches online and I've found out on my own that Freya hv made my voice improved as well! I love all her lessons here on RUclips (although I always repeat her warm ups bec it's hard for me to remember each warm ups but I don't mind it bec it sure helps my voice to improved!).
    I even recommended her to my friend/s while I was at the library hanging out at the same time and a friend of mine insisted there are more vocal coaches out there online and I said, Freya is the best I've ever researched online!
    I'm enjoying singing better now than before bec of these lessons, like I've gotta get on RUclips with Freya before I sing with my random friends that I've never met online just to sing for fun and most of them got voices and I'm proud of myself bec without these lessons, I may end up hurting my voice singing and probably will not get a "play" back! So, Thnk u so much for giving us this opportunity out of your kindness Heart, may God bless u....

    I tried 3 voice coaches online, with different ways but I cannot comprehend on how they teach it! They're also good but I still like the way your teaching approach bec it's pretty simple n youre very straight forward on your techniques...no need to wonder, that's my opinion....so, it makes it easier for me to understand. I got music background in school but not voice...so, this is my 1st time to learn n I will continue to learn while it's an opportunity, thank u so much Freya ❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹🌹💕👍🏼

    Thnx, Frya for your reply! Heheheh, what ca n I say...I'm just your motivated student bec my aim is to hv a nice clear voice but sometimes I can't always hv the clear voice I wanted to. It takes so much time n practice practice, I will never get tired of your LESSONS though...I wish I could copy them on my USB disk so if no internet, I can always carry with me wherever I go. I do a lot of walking too around my neighborhood when I hv free time, like 6miles n it takes me an hour n 45 mins to get done. But it's hard to do warm ups when I walk, hahaha. I'm too much! Take care

    Thanks for the video Ms. Freya. I'm still in the dark about this though, coz to me it all seems so impractical and unrealistic that one can keep a neutral neck position right through some songs, especially if you consider that most professional singers bend and twist their head anyhow while singing. Maybe if you could demonstrate this with a high-pitch song and sing the whole song in that position, then it would be easier to comprehend

    • @ZacharydeLima

      its supposed to be like a default position

    • @ZacharydeLima
      @ZacharydeLima 3 года назад +1

      @@samtony611 it's like a position you want as your home base. You just don't want your neck moving around too much which will cause tightness and tension.

    Hello Freya! I don't know if you'll see this comment, but I'd love to find some answers. I've had some issues recently with loosing my voice after singing and I am finding out that I strain A LOT whenever I sing, although I have good resonnance technique (still working on breath support). My question is : I naturally have a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders because of a scoliosis. To sum it up, I pretty much do not know how it feels to have a relaxed neck, haha. Do you think this could be a reason why my voice tends to strain so easily? Thank you!

    I think some arch their neck to get more air or may even think that might make their instrument larger (or at least I'm guessing). I do karaoke and I never did that. If songs were too high for me I just didn't even end up doing them. No need for me to try to hit what I obviously can't. This is great stuff anyway I like it.

    Thank you Freya once more. This topic is a good reminder for any singer.
    There's another topic I'm interested in. Autotune. I really dislike it and I think if you can't sing without it, then don't sing. I'm going to start recording my own songs next year and I guess I'm afraid what if I need pitch correction. How to approach this issue?

    • @marijohanna3637
      @marijohanna3637 8 лет назад

      ***** I guess it's more psychological. I'm afraid that I listen to my recording and it will never be good enough. That way it's easy to fall for the cleaning up everything with autotune. Which I would never do. I guess I'm scared that I end up not recording at all, and it kills me because I really feel like I need to do this. But yes I know it takes practice in order to find confidence and if you have confidence you're more relaxed about it. Well wish me luck 😆

    Good stuff. Biggest thing that bothers me is a professional singer that chest/shoulder breathes, and looks like they are try to squeeze and apple out of their neck. The craziest part is, it’s a huge majority.

    Hey freya,
    I read somewhere that people use neck muscles , as an anchoring for belt or high pitched singing.
    We online students of the voice encountering so many and different approaches to singing techniques, so my question is have you ever heard about head/neck anchoring and is it dangerous?

  • @erichazucha645
    @erichazucha645 6 лет назад

    A lot of professional singers move their heads/neck up and down, forward and back dramatically with their pitch. They could use this video.

    • @samtony611
      @samtony611 5 лет назад

      but then THAT's the point right there...if it's so bad, why do professional singers do it? If she demonstrated this with a high-pitch song herself, maybe then I could understand it and it would seem more practical and realistic.
