It goes pretty well out in the grass. I certainly could not keep up with it out there running along side of it! LOL! I am so glad you guys could not see what a mess that was! LOL!
Sorry, that weird noise in the beginning is a a bit sharp. It was a real trick to try and hold the go-pro stick, drive one handed with a radio my thumb wont reach and jog along side it at the same time! Thankfully I did not end up flat on my my face!! LOL!
Yeah, it was so bouncy on the track I could not really drive it hard as the front end was bouncing so much it did not want to steer so I had to take it easy so there was not much cool footage to slow down. Best I could do was the donuts!
Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it. It ran really well in the grass, it struggled a bit on the track. In the grass it had more than enough grip and was fun to see it romp around. I will try to get a better video of it with the tanks in the future.
It ran really well on the grass, not so great on the track but I did not expect it to be great out there. It is more fun driving it around in the grass and imagining being a kid and playing with my GI Joes!
Yeah it prefers the grass a lot better than the track. Between the tires and the bouncing it was hard to drive on the track but in the grass the grip was a lot better. It was still very cool to see it run around!
Yeah it does blend in the further it gets from you! It runs well in the grass, to bouncy and slick for the track though. Still a fun one to see run around.
Yeah it is a bouncy one! LOL! IN the grass it was a lot better as the front tires still had more grip to turn, in the dirt those fronts do not have any grip and the rears have very little as well. It will stay in the grass from now on. I do plan on getting out and doing a little mini-movie with it and the tanks at some point. Gonna need an assistant for that one! I tried to find music to fit the theme of the buggy! I am glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah it is a bit bouncy but drives well. Slower than I expected but for what it is that works out well. Some of the Wild One shocks would help the bouncing a lot.
Glad you enjoyed it! It was a handful on the track, between the bouncing and the lack of grip it was hard to get any speed. It does donuts well though! In the grass it had much more traction and was more fun to drive.
Thanks! Bouncy old friction shocks and all! It was fun out in the grass, definitely not a track buggy for sure. At some point I would like to do some sort of themed video with it and the tanks I have here. Just did not have the time nor energy to figure all that out at the moment!
I had thought about doing a cool video with them together but but I just did not have the time to figure it all out, and run them both. That I had just spent about 4 hours blowing leaves so I could do this so the energy level was pretty low. Maybe one day in the future.
Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed it! It was a fun on to drive, bouncy but a lot of fun! The bouncy kind of suits it honestly. It is the ultimate GI Joe buggy for sure!
@ I’m probably one of the few people that will say it but if you don’t drive very hard on a rc then I feel like you don’t really need oil filled shocks. Sometimes thats what adds to the fun of driving some of these
Yes, not a racer but really did well in the grass! It is just too bouncy and not enough tire to get good grip on the track but plenty in the grass, traction rolled it a few times and bicycled it a few more! It is a cool looking buggy and fun to watch run around in the grass!
Yes, I have seen that done and it looks super cool! I am hoping they bring out the shark mouth version next year, for some reason I love that one. Not sure why, it really makes little sense when you think about it but for some reason I need that one! LOL!
Thanks Mark! It did very well in the grass, struggled a bit on the track though. It was fun t finally see one running around in person and at some point I will get another video of it and the tanks together!
Thanks! It was cool to see it out and running around. It was not great on the track but in the grass it was a lot of fun. I really wanted to get a cool video of it with the tanks on a mission together but I just did not have the time or the energy to get all that set up right now. On of these days it will happen though, I am looking for a holiday deal on one of those ripsaw tanks to be in it as well, got to have a bad guy in it!
Yeah, the tires struggled on the hard packed stuff and the truck is exceptionally lumpy (moles) at the moment so it did not do great out there. On the grass it did much better and was a lot of fun watching it run around. Some real GI Joe flashbacks!
Yeah, a lot of the original ones were about half and half. It is definitely got the model looks but they did a really good job of designing it to look great but still be able to drive around and handle the terrain well. It was a bit bouncy on the track but in the grass it drove a lot better. In th future I am going to try and get it out with the tanks and make more of a mini movie with them. I just need to plan it out and find a lot of sound effects!
@@AddamsPlayground It would handle better with dampers for sure, but then it would loose the charm we love about these cars. Looking forward to your "movie"! LOL!! My son loves tanks. :)
Thanks! It ran great on the grass and that is where it is at home. On the track it is too bouncy and not enough traction. I had to try it as if I didn't I would get tons of comments to take it out there! I figured it was going to struggle a bit but from now on it will stay in the grass and just do fun imaginary GI Joe stuff! LOL!
Thanks Trey! I think I showed it is a not a track buggy but it ran really well out on the grass. It definitely takes you back to the days of GI Joes and this would have been such a cool thing to have back then!!
It really preferred the grass where traction was higher. Between the tires and the bouncing it was hard to drive on the track. It was fun to watch it run around and see it in actins. I had planned for a whole big production but time and energy was not there!
@@AddamsPlaygroundI figured those tires would be pretty descent on the track…guess not? I’ve actually always wanted those tires on something. I really want to get a Brat at some point but it seems to be pricier than any of the other orv’s. Maybe because it comes with two bodies?
@@FastFreddyRC Yeah, the two bodies is a lot of it. It has also kept me from building it as I don't want to do two bodies back to back and I know I will have to or the other will never get done LOL!!
@AddamsPlayground certainly do it looks great, we all know it wasn't going to be a power house but that's not the idea for this buggy anyway, though it looks fun on your track
@@kanenstuff It was fun but a bit of a challenge on the track. In the grass it had the traction and was much more fun! Not a speedster but a really cool buggy!
I am glad you enjoyed it. It was really funny running around in the grass, on the track it was a skating and bouncing around so much it was difficult to get a clean lap in. Definitely not a track buggy but I had to try it. I also want to get it out with the tanks for a little mini movie at some point, I think that will be fun! Hopefully you can get back out soon and rip around a bit!!

Cool video Addam. It didn't look like the easiest of cars to get around the track, but how cool did it look against the tree lined backdrop driving around the garden?! You got some great camera angles there buddy,,and the soundtrack complimented it with true perfection! Very nice.😊 👍 👍

She's a beauty!! I think if you threw on some better rear tires it would go much better on the track. when I run those tires they are slippery only really good for the street.
Great run Addam. On the track it looks a bit overpowered. Do you think it benefits from the Sport Tuned? Of course it would be more manageable with the silver can, but then it would be the ASAV - average speed attack vehicle. Paint on the driver looks fantastic. Gives me ideas for my build. Again, great work!
On the track it was a mix of the bouncing made the front end not want to turn and the tires not wanting to hook up on the hard packed dirt of the front turn. So in the back corners it was bouncing all over and I had to go slow to keep it turning and in the front too much throttle would cause it to loop out. Some of it just a 40 year old design as well. Some Wild One oil filled shocks would help out but it did very well on the grass and that where it will be run the rest of the time. The driver was actually fun to paint and really gives it the cool factor with him sitting in there piloting! Have fun with your build!!!
