I recall GM saying they took the front engine rear wheel drive platform as far as they could with the last ZR-1 vette, and it never made a sub 7 min lap here. Congratulations to Ford and everyone else involved with this truly historic achievement!

Congratulations Ford for this achievement! And also for still making great V8 machines where nowadays a bunch of other car companies are going to the wrong direction.

Thank you Ford for continually pushing forward!!!
I really enjoy driving my Bullitt Mustang. Thank you to my lovely wife for buying it for me.
I have a 2019 Bullitt. I put on Steeda dual rate springs, sway bars, diff bushing kit, stop the hop kit, vertical links, MGW short shifter, McCloud Clutch, one piece alum drive shaft, trans bushing, metal braided clutch line a set of wider wheels and tires and a few more other things I can't think of right now. Handles like a go cart!
I LOVE FORD!!!
Very impressive Ford. Well done.
Great lap, let’s come back in the spring and get in the 6:40’s!
This was on a wet track! I imagine on a dry track, the gtd would get 6:50 with no issues.
This man can flat out drive !
0:12 read the fine print, common Ford, a dedicated track car that you can’t track or risk voiding warranty? Don’t get me wrong it’s incredible the Mustang did sub 7, but it would be nice if customers get to use it the way it’s meant to be. (Though they’ll mostly sit in a climate controlled garage anyway.)
Sad truth
It’s Ford what do you expect 😂
I noticed that and stopped the video to make sure I read it correctly!
Well done Ford, Multimatic and Dirk Muller
The fact that there's a center-mounted B&O speaker in the frame of this entire 7 minute run...
That cross plane V8 singing is mortar fire. Germany has the sirens going, thinking B17’s were doing a run!!!! Keep the V8 always, Ford. Been a Stang fan since ‘90.
👍💪🇺🇸🦅
Since 1970 for me, when I saw my first Boss Mustang. I was mesmerized!!
This car is a work of art. If this makes it to production and sells, it will be the best car Ford has ever produced. I really can't think of anything like it.
The most impressive part of this to me is that the track looks damp. Maybe I'm seeing it wrong, but it sure doesn't look like the conditions I'd want to try and set a lap record in. Big balls.
Your absolutely correct. They said conditions were not Perfect. And that they could probably run a faster time if it was dry!
yeah i thought that in the beginning. I was like "wait, it's wet!".
It rained all day. This was done after 8pm at the last possible moment(notice how dark and gloomy it is)and was a remarkable accomplishment. and this car has way more in her too. They'll be back next year to go for quicker times on hopefully a fully dry track.
@plantfeeder6677 it seemed like it had power to spare. All that and it still 'only reached about what, 187mph on the last long straight.
That down shift note, WOW
Pretty cool. This thing sounds alive and hungry it wants to go on the attack. Love it. 🇺🇸🐴🇩🇪🏁
Need this car on Gran Tourismo and iRacing
I wish Sabine was alive to take a few laps in the GTD.
Wow!!! What a beast Ford have created. Love the from that V8, just Music to my ears. Excellent job!!!💯🔥💯🔥💯
