      The show directors, writers, actors everyone did a great job to make the LA such amazing, entertaining and fun show to watch. Many people actually liked it and anime fans not really complaining so much. They deserved to get their salary and payments first. NETFLIX should be ashamed of wanting to take all the money for themselves while NETFLIX's job is only promoting the show.

      As a massive OP fan, I only watch the anime intermittently. I think it's too much overrated, abusive of long recaps and flashbacks to even just the precedent episode sometimes, dragging like hell, and filled with mediocre fillers (I don't count movies. Love the movies). Before all the haters changed their mind on the live action, too many kept saying we didn't need the Live Action because the Anime already existed. I'm glad that rather than making a lesser and dragged version than the manga like the anime, they really went to make a time-efficient reimagining of sort, keeping the the manga as a code.
      It's just been so good to see my mom getting enamoured to this world and these characters that have guided my life since childhood.

    @Mike_Ka-Chowski Год назад +25

    I actually love how they built sets instead of green screen or those LED screen domes that The Mandalorian uses. Practical effects and sets is such an underrated art at this point. Plus, having real sets and mostly real stunts gives it a Tokusatsu vibe ala Kamen Rider or Super Sentai, which really brings One Piece closer to not only its Japanese roots but also with its fellow Toei properties.

    • @fireaza
      @fireaza Год назад +4

      Keep in mind that this series was even more expensive than GoT. The only reason that "practical effects and sets is such an underrated art" is because it causes the budget to balloon like no one's business. For a risker properties, that might be the difference between it actually getting made, and being left in development hell. Personally, I wouldn't have minded if they used more CGI, had NetFlix been less willing to give it a big budget and that's what it would take to get it made.

    As someone who hasn't read the manga nor watched the anime, I fell head over heels for the characters and this world! The fact that I was able to understand everything and be invested in the characters and story without needing to read the manga or watch the anime was something that not many adaptations can do and I'm personally so grateful that One Piece was successful in that. The story is filled with hardships and tears but also great adventures, lessons, and triamphs. It really was an epic journey and it brought me so much joy, inspiration, and motivation towards life. Haven't felt this way about a movie or tv show in a very long time! Not to mention the early episodes are old asf and I hate watching stuff in LQ lol

    You did such a great jobb. I started reading the manga 2003, and I never thought anyone could pull off a live action of it. But you guys attention to detail and love for the project really shines through and made the first season a great watch!

    Hey Netflix! Heres how you make your money back!
    Turn Baratie into a REAL RESTARAUNT. Hell, take the sets and make them into a tour.

    Can we get interviews from Jeff Ward and Steven Tyler Ward too? They're both standouts in this perfect cast.

    I hope they didn't tear apart the set after production. Someone should turn them into an amusement park in Cape Town. I bet it will draw a lot of visitors.

    I hope Netflix keeps the sets even after the show is over, so the One Piece fans can visit them (like a Disneyland in pirates version 😊

    I'm so happy that they built the set for real. Nowadays, studios overused CGI to make there scenes.

    While other "fantasy movies" giving so many heavy CGI making it hard to believe, I knew something is very different in this series when I watched it. Now i know why. Like almost everything is built and real. Baratie looks super real, now I know why because the whole set is built and real. Every ship, mansion, etc is crafted and real. This is what makes this series so believable and cool!

    As a Cowboy Bebop fan, this video makes me happy and a bit envious of the fans of One Piece, as they clearly got creators behind the show, which they love and care about the source material, and don't want to change the show to fit their own beliefs and agendas.
