    While your problem had a few things that was different from the one i was given in a hw assignment, this video was still very helpful in letting me understand how to solve for Tension. Thank you🙏

    why didn't we consider the rod's weight ?

      Great question. I should have clarified that this is a "massless rod" or "rod of negligeable mass." This particular problem I threw together rather quickly and didn't want to include the mass of the rod. If you DID consider the mass of the rod it would just add a clockwise torque on the middle of the rod L/2. If we call the mass M then the torque would be Mg(L/2) and your Net Torque equation would be: mgL +Mg(L/2) = Tcos(theta)(3L/4). You would still have an L in every term to cancel out and your tension T would end up being a little bit bigger. Hope this helps!
