On other channels I have seen better pick ups being cut up for parts and old iron. I am so glad to see you rescued this pick up in a way I love it: technical repairs and leaving the patina where possible.
The way you repaired the frontgrill looked like magic.

Owatrol Oil also is great for conserving patina with something clear. It's a sort of penetrating oil, based on linseed oil, that will harden and form a very good layer of protection. It can also be used to bring back faded plastic, shine tires and prime wood for paint. amazing stuff really

Sweet! I am thinking Tom Sawyer, cuz I would pay good money to be allowed to put some coats of that clear onto that truck! I liked your line that 'it's how the truck's supposed to look'. The fact that you could pull out that grill and work the dents out of those fenders, an amazing transformation of what could've been a forgotten lost cause destined for scrap. Now it's a real jewel, so far, with a bright long future ahead! Thanks for posting these videos!

I'm loving this. Years ago, I had a '46 International pickup with no motor and trans, that my plan was going to put the cab and bed on a S-10 or Ranger frame and drivetrain. I got stationed overseas and I left it parked at a relatives house. While I was overseas, he went on a vacation and when he came back my International and his '40 Chevy project had been stolen. They never did figure out who got them.

Hi! I just found this video tonight and watched the whole thing!! What I love about it is there is no profanity spouted out by you or your dad! Thank you for that! Hey, I have a 1970 International Scout 800A series. I've worked on her some then sold her to a friend with stipulation that I could buy her back. 8 years later, a year ago, I bought her back! Thank God for good friends! He did a little work on her, moved the gas tank from side to under the bed because he took my 33" tires off and put 35s on her. I don't like where it is now bc you have to open up the back to gas her up. So trying to figure out a better location for that. But engine wise, Sassy has a slanted 4. Always ran good when I had her. She smokes a little, wasn't built for speed but would climb anything and pull anything. Still has the old drum brakes that I'd like to do away with and get an axel with disc brakes. And I discovered she has a cracked motor mount. If you have any suggestions on what I could do or that would be cool, please let me know. I am on a budget so doing work ourselves is not a problem. I love the clear coat job and had already decided to do that on her. Enjoyed your video! Thanks
