Love him, he was and still is a great writer voice and dunno about guitarist but he is a fucking legend, would prefer Col as PM more than Scotty from Marketing
If you notice the original drummer, bassist and lead guitarist are all gone here. Story is the drummer was fired abruptly, bassist quit, and guitarist just went AWOL. Sad story for one of the greatest bands of all time, accomplished a lifetime of work in only four years.
Your right, original drummer was fired for reasons unknown, bass player was on his side whatever it was and quit in protest, are rumors the guitarist had a drug problem just disappeared. Greg quit halfway through this tour and that was that. The rumor is is that Colin was difficult to impossible to work with they said that his ego just went out of control, I think the drummer confronted him about it and got fired which led to everybody else leaving. It is sad because nobody in that band was replaceable as you see here Colin tried to replace them and it just wasn't happening, that's why Greg quit in the middle of the tour I saw an interview he just said that he couldn't do it anymore without his friends and he just wasn't feeling it.....RIP Greg Hamm.
How BORING this has to be. These guys have played this song probably 1000's of times. Then they have to play it here warming up in front of NOBODY the WHOLE thing to 🤯🤯
So sad for the passing of greggy ham...such a loveable guy who would never say a bad word about anyone..and an incredibly talented muscian who had a large part in the success of men at work with his fantastic playing and creative direction 🤗🤗🤗R.I.P GREGGY😍😍
We should stop trying to get to Mars and start investing ALL our efforts to build a time machine. We could fix all stupid things we've done and could watch all these amazing 80's concerts again and again!
It's almost like that era now seems like a completely different reality or a alternate planet in another galaxy....everything seems so strange yet wonderfully light and carefree... unlike 2020 or maybe i'm just getting old and wanting to recapture my youth. I do remember the late 80's and while they were truly amazing for music of many genres - overall i don't recall them being this damn good!
Well said true in many ways.life was alot simpler back then no mobiles computer ect ,people actually talked to each other.a different time good memories. We are all aging annd long for our youthful ways and energy lol. Respect
@@garychambers5850 It's a little weird because it's not like a piano or guitar where all the notes are in order and there's also an octave key near your left thumb so if you want to play the same key in a higher octave you hit that key with your thumb. Also with a piano you just hit the key and get a good sound. With sax there's a certain way you have to bite down on the mouthpiece and if your "Embouchure" is off you're gonna make a lot of bad squeaky noises. It's not really that hard to be honest but I don't think it's something you could really just pick up and teach yourself to play. It's best to find a teacher but once you DO learn the basics your fingers just know where to go and you can make amazing sounds. It's a really fun and kind of sexy instrument to play.
absolutely amazing , the talent here is second to none and i still play their music today . Colin is doing great in his solo career also . wish i had been there for this sound check let alone the concert !!
I'm my opinion Colin has never got the recognition he should have.. great writer, great voice and guitarist.
Probably because Men at Work's career wasn't so extensive as, let's say, The Police's.
Love him, he was and still is a great writer voice and dunno about guitarist but he is a fucking legend, would prefer Col as PM more than Scotty from Marketing
Couldn't agree with you more!!!! Colin is a very talented musician/writer/composer!!!!!
Great comment I totally agree and they took them to court over "kukaburra sits in an old gumtree riff ffs bullshit"
@@weburnitatbothends He's actually quite a good guitar player. This isn't a great showcase of that.
We are so lucky somebody saved these recordings.
Yes us so thank you.
yeah...i was thinking about this too!!!!
Yeah yeah thank you person who thanked yourself!!
Thankyou!🖤👊

If this is a sound check, could you imagine the actual concert...
Oh that’s what this means. I was wondering. Thanks. Wowed! They were amazing. Wish I saw them live.
Amazing
I had the pleasure of seeing the show here in Brazil in the 90's
It was the actual concert. No-one turned up.
How BORING this has to be. These guys have played this song probably 1000's of times. Then they have to play it here warming up in front of NOBODY the WHOLE thing to 🤯🤯
Was that just the sound check? Wow. Just wow
Greg Ham just swaps instruments like toys, had enough of that one, now I'll try this one lol, R.I.P
It's amazing the fact this video was recorded in 1988 and has a great quality. This is so epic.
Music has evolved a lot, since our childhood in the 1970s and 1980s. ❤😊
This version of Who Can it Be Now is incredible
Backup singers really bring their endgame by the end!!
Here is one that is even better ... ruclips.net/video/udV559VdlOM/видео.html
Excellent mix from the board but one of the backup singers is a bit off, it's annoying me.
Indeeeeeed!
Sure is
He had just as much range as Sting with less ego...great song, always!
+ 1
I agree. I’m a big fan of them both 👍
Very true.
Similar voices
If they had like 14songs as good as this one, i would prefer Men at work by far.
Greg Ham, R.I.P.
I'll buy a ticket to their soundcheck anytime.
RIP Greg Ham your talent is missed
90W300R 50CW1LX the saxophone 🎷
90W300R 50CW1LX you’re welcome man 🤙
He had amazing talent and what happened was such a shame. Wish he could have dealt with things better. Always in my heart
Fantastic Colin Hay 👍👏
Rip Greg you were an extraordinary talent!
I love Colin Hay
perfect soundcheck...great singer and band
Bands back then played harder with more passion and energy in a damn soundcheck than bands today play in front of a crowd.
damn we need music like this again
thats my thought for so long ^^
thanks geber! if I may ask what the deal with the mask?
@@virelduncan9369 Im workin on my capri as seen behind me....grinding some paint down you should wear such a mask ;)
car guy a I have a few myself
True
Imagine being a grounds keeper standing there in the very front with no one else around for this sound check. 😀
Take ME BACK To These Days 😀
Major props to Greg Ham on sax. Those have to be the most infectious notes in any 80's pop song.
What a stud on that Sax and Flute 🪈 👍💜😘
Greg was the true epic sax guy.
INDEED
I once knew a lovely lady who could play the sax.... she could really hit those high notes... if you know what I mean 👍
Luke Buckwalter what do you mean no? Who could say “no” to a beautiful famale sax player?
Luke Buckwalter no, just read back on my original comment
Luke Buckwalter LoL no worries mate!
I’m talking about a lovely lady that really had a talent for putting “sax” in her mouth (giving head)...
So sad for the passing of greggy ham...such a loveable guy who would never say a bad word about anyone..and an incredibly talented muscian who had a large part in the success of men at work with his fantastic playing and creative direction 🤗🤗🤗R.I.P GREGGY😍😍
Colin Hay and Greg Ham were dynamic together! Thanks for great music from the 80's!
sax sounds amazing
Holy shit.
This is the best thing I’ve seen on the web.
I remember this song from the early 80’s.
friggin brilliant.
We should stop trying to get to Mars and start investing ALL our efforts to build a time machine. We could fix all stupid things we've done and could watch all these amazing 80's concerts again and again!
The closest thing we have to a time machine is RUclips and it’s pretty good; without it most of us would’ve not have seen this performance (video).
I always thought Colin Hay's voice was underrated.
I totally agree, what an amazing voice
Agree with you.
With all of us saying Colin's voice was underrated, perhaps it wasn't!
Simpatico
Even more so now, you can find plenty of footage of him recently and he still sounds this incredible. Such a strong, clear voice!
He has a fabulous voice.
They lookjed so young and fine, RIP Greg Ham, epic sax performance
And flauta💯
Greg and Colin was untouchable!!!!
One of the best singers ever
Really can tell they played a lot of gigs together, just causally delivering top notch like it's nothing
That was just great!
...well that was an impressive sound check!!
2 2
Well if you cant get that right then you shouldnt be playing
Omfg, first time I have seen this ,completely blown away
Welcome to the Club.
watch the same band play ;Monday I got Friday on My Mind ; / soundcheck from same stage, on youtube

Must be the best rehearsal of any song ever !
Perfect soundcheck👍
Even tho this was a sound check this sounds good
A soudcheck in the 80's...
That was awesome. No performance was as great as this sound check.
Wow!!!
Remind me of “Huey Lewis and the News”
Way better.
excellent
40years...I still loving this great band
So much swagger here, this is awesome👌👌
goosebumps right here, how awesome was music back in the day? just wow......
the quality on this is amazing. Matches the quality of the song and performance!
❤ So damn good.! ♬ 👍
I love this! So manny sweet memories!
That is one of the coolest saxophone parts ever written. This song is the reason I started playing Saxophone when I was twelve years old.
The sax is like a vocal, mimicking exactly Colin, note for note
I love the Sax... Ima guitarist/Keyboardist. But I want to learn the Sax, Is it hard to learn?

Men at work (down under) amo essa musica ❤🤟🏻🇧🇷
That was a really cool version of down under😍😍😍
totally cool - just love these tunes - and they are so0 good live... !!
Ok I'm happy this exist.
Só me lembra praia essas músicas nostalgia
Hello how are you doing?
My 1st concert ❤
Can never get tired of listening to Colin. Kind regards to Greg Ham.
@90W300R 50CW1LX Greg is the guy on sax.
Greg Ham
is coolest man in the world!
The Aussie Huey Lewis. The voices remind me so much of each other. Bravo!
Sax and voice combo, wow ,its hard to define sometimes, fabulous
The drums' sound is amazing
That’s Derrick Pellici
Me emociona esta version 😭
My love, even after all these days. Thank God someone had the for thought to record this. Such a blessing and such memories. Love me some Colin.
69 yrs old & still one of my favorites- almost got to see Colin last yr in Fort Collins Colorado- Damn Covid
💯👍
Com certeza amigo
Group is fantastic, awesome lyrics and instrumentals. Colin's voice is pleasantly unique.
AWESOME....
Soundcheck for the 80's Soul 🏆
Awesome performance by greg and colin
Blonde hair and flute or saxaphone
Hello
one hell of a soundcheck
Best version - even if just a soundcheck!!
Timeless.
THIS SONG IS HERE TO STAY
absolutely amazing , the talent here is second to none and i still play their music today . Colin is doing great in his solo career also . wish i had been there for this sound check let alone the concert !!
THAT SNARE!!!!!! 🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hello,how are you doing?
