This is the Six Flags in Gurnee IL I remember going to so many times. The 80s were a total blast! They always had a huge arcade fill with a ton of arcade machines. Boy, I miss those days.
Marriott's Great America! This was the place of dreams, of fun beyond comprehension for a kid. It was really the best place for just fun. Later on when it became Six Flags Great America I still loved it but 4 hour waits for Batman, 3 hours waits, ugh it was still fun it just took longer.
I remember those long lines especially during the 90 degree blazing hot days. Then I'd jump on the Log ride to cool down in a big splash! In the evening then go to Moose Burger Lodge/Restaurant for a huge meal in the end. :) Had a toy train running up there near the ceiling.
I remember those High School yellow bus trips to Six Flags Great America during the 80s. Total blast to be with school pals of past, hitting those rides!
Now the Intel headquarters, a convention center and Levi's Stadium, the home of the 49ers are next to the park. There always was a high rise Marriott hotel, though, next to the park which stands to reason.
Hope Stufflebeam it was probably filmed in California that’s where almost all the ads came from for great America. But the same ad was probably showed in Illinois too

When I was a kid, I thought the rabbit in the top hat was named Marriott.

Agree. Most shots in these older ads are Cali. Shown in both markets because the parks were virtually identical. Not even close these days!
