I’m forever gonna have very bad trust issues with vets. No one has to tell me that there are good nurses, because I KNOW there is. My very young boy, my cat, my orange boy, Tormund. I lose him due to the vets sending him home with a open gap in his bladder area, which was very poorly stitched. He still bled, and he was in so much pain. We did everything. We kept him warm, we stayed with him, but now, he’s gone, I won’t ever be able to see I’m physically. I’ll never be able to pet his short, soft fur. I’ll never be able to see him run around the house. I’m gonna miss him so much. But he will never be forgotten. I won’t see him, but I’ll hear him. I’ll hold him so close to my heart. I’ll hold Chester close, too. They will never be forgotten. We gave them the best life, and that’s what matters. We cared for them, we spoiled them, and we loved them. We’ll meet again at the Rainbow Bridge, Chester and Tor. It will take a while, but I’ll be there. You will get to see Weezus, the cat I always talked about. You’ll see him, and he’ll greet you. He will comfort you. He’s good at that. And you’ll also see some other cats that were important to me, but I never got to see. I’ll miss you all, and I hope I’ll see you again. Walk with each other, and have the best afterlife ever, my sweet babies. And to all of you who are having a hard time healing from the emotional scar of losing someone, always ALWAYS remember, that you loved them. You CARED for them. Don’t ever think you didn’t do the right things for them, you think of the happiest moments with them, and you remember them by it. You remember their names, you remember what they felt like, and what they sounded like. They will NEVER be forgotten. They are here with you, but you can’t see them physically. You will hear them, you will remember them. And one day, you will get to see them again. They will wait for you. They loved you like you loved them. That’s what matters. You will have a scar, but that scar will heal for some of you, and for others, it will heal, but the mark will still be there. You’ll see them again, and you will walk with them, forever together, never separated. 💜
My first German Shepherd died at the age of 13 months after a veterinarian who had indoor boarding kennels let my baby get hit by a car. My dog was still alive but the vet did not attempt to do what she had referred to as "life saving surgery" until the next day. My dog had a ruptured bladder, broken rib, punctured lung and suffered 3 cardiac arrests after the vet did her surgery. After pursuing legal action, my own attorney stabbed me in the back. I have lost 7 dogs in my adult life and all had been victims of veterinary neglect/harm. I hope they all rot in fucking hell.
I went to a vet that convinced me to to do a dental on my cats teeth. He is only 3 years old. Completely healthy beforehand. He used to eat 5 meals a day. Now I'm lucky if he eats one meal. They overdosed him with the wrong medication. Changed the name of the med three times when I asked what it was. He had an inflamed nose and chin and the vets told me his head matching is body he is fine. I said that's funny iv owned him for three years and his head has always been smaller then his body. I asked why he was breathing out of his mouth. The vets answer was 'hes special' I asked why did I have to hand feed my cat for two weeks for just a clean no teeth extractions? They went silent. I said I can't keep doing this I have a disability. They said if he is eating continue to feed him by hand. When I asked for further scans or blood tests they gave me a lawyer's email and told me to contact that email. I took him to another vet and they said, vets don't overdose. That's not true. That didn't happen.. I took him to another vet and they told me it will cost me $7000 to do scans and tests him disregarding the actual cost of surgery but I can go on a payment plan. I went to a hospital and he had hyperthermia sweating profusely from toxcity. They blamed it on the stress he was from going to the vet. Even though he did this at home. I feel once they wreck your pet they avoid accountability at all costs to keep their job. They don't care about the animal. Only the money and sales. Six weeks later. No answers Bloods are fine. He's breathing from him mouth, no eating and having seizures hiding depressed, lethargic . Vets are complete assholes I don't trust any vets at all
This is terrible & traumatic to read. My dog has been needing a dental & I’ve been procrastinating it even though I know he needs one but with stories like these I literally push back even more. I always read reviews before going somewhere new and it’s expensive but if you have the money go to a holistic vet instead
@@marianaotalvaro5358 Have you seen advertisements for those "automatic litter boxes?" If you're already a cat owner or have yet to become one, take heed of this advice. Doc, unfortunately, it just doesn't seem to work that way (with a lot of your points) especially about not being a passive participant and ask questions. I have tried to treat vets with kid gloves so that they do not get offended by questions and it just doesn't work. Most vets, from experience, become uptight or offended if you even question anything that they want to do. This goes for medications, etc. It doesn't seem to matter if you go to a budget vet or expensive clinic setting. More or less, it always comes across that they know everything and how dare you ask questions. I have shown authorities literature from online resources (top vet schools, American Vet. Medical Association, etc.) and eyes glaze over. Honestly, I am afraid to ever get another dog from some of the experiences in the past. Most vets make it very difficult to be the pet's voice/advocate.
I know your comment is old, but it resonates. I have lost trust in veterinarians as well, to the point of not wanting to adopt another dog. Also, you can't build a trust relationship with a good vet anymore, because all vet practices are corporately owned. There are barely any privately owned vet practices left.
I am not going to comment for all vets. But I went to two different vets who I hold responsible for killing my dog. I specifically told the first vet that my dog lost weight and he is not eating, all she did was dismiss and just gave me a temporary fix. We waited and then told her again, to which she just attributed it to acidity. Then when I finally asked her could it be some serious disease, then she did the right tests. Am I the doctor or her? We got fed up with her and took to another vet who treated an emergency situation and discharged my dog too soon instead of monitoring him. We lost him. He was only 5. He was my soul dog. I am not going to trust vets anymore, I will hundred percent google. This is exactly why people self diagnose, doctors shouldn't be taking this offensively. We just want to save our lives, since they are clearly incapable.
I don't trust any of them .I had a great vet who died in the 80s .My first German Shepherd lived to be 16 with having a honest vet ! Thank you for all you do !
My cat just died one week ago when simple antibiotics could have saved his life. I know the burden my cat was struggling to bear. I have to live with seeing his decline, most drastically after the three times I brought him to the vet. That vet didn't lift a finger. Didn't run any diagnostic tests except sticking a needle in his stomach to test for infectious fluids. There was a three month window to save his life and my vet pretended it was a big complicated mystery. He got an infection from flea allergy rash. I had to do massive amounts of research and beg for tests and treatment plans. They put the burden 100 per cent on me. All my vet did was give him steroids. So this has been a real shock. I had no idea veterinary malpractice was a thing. He diagnosed my cat with encephalitis and the poor cat died of sepsis. He never said a word about the paralysis would eventually make it so he couldn't move his bowels. I gave him Milk of Magnesia. I gave him pumpkin. I gave him glycerine suppositories. The vet never breathed a word about it. He didn't do a thing to help. I only paid $170, and the Humane Society was contributing at the end. But my cat paid with his life. They are fraudster too. They won't send me his records. I know when I do get the hem they will be falsified to cover up their SCAM.
I was in a new area and went to a vet for my Senior cat. My cat needed a blood work analysis. 2-3 big men tried holding him down to draw blood. In my cat's mind, he was fighting for his life. They finally sedated him and drew the blood and sent him home still Groggy and barely able to walk. For 2-3 weeks following, my cat was a shadow of himself-clearly traumatized and in shock. He recovered but was never anything less than violent at the new veterinarians office I took him too. The vet that traumatized him was not cat-friendly and all pictures on the website of the staff with their pets had all dogs in them. There was one stock photo off of a website of a cat. They clearly prefer treating farm animals and dogs. The vet went on a year later to build a bigger practice in a very affluent community. I switched to another vet who had resident cats and was very gentle in the handling of my cat who never forgot his experience and was not a good patient ever again.
Hi RM, Sorry about your negative experience - glad to hear your cat recovered. Yes there are many 'less patient' vets who are challenged when animals don't cooperate
+Veterinary Secrets I recently put my Murphy down (March 6, 2016) with the help of a Home Euthanasia Pet Service. I told my Vet it was nothing against them, but I wanted Murphy to be able to die in his own home where he was comfortable. He battled Liver Disease, Arthritis and severe Allergies for over 2 years. Mouth/Nasal Cancer finally ended our beautiful life together just days shy of his 15th Birthday. Thank you for voicing your concerns and solutions for our pets.
I had that happen recently at my vet clinic. I have a tripod who for 12 years has to go to the clinic to get his nails trimmed. He does not let me do it at home at all. He was an abuse case when I got him; his former owner had thrown him against the wall and broken his leg and it had to be amputated when I brought him back to Georgia after adopting him. I suspect this is part of the reason he doesn't like people messing with his legs and paws. Just recently, I watched 1 vet and two vet techs hold him down, pull on the large e-collar to where the collar was pulling back on his neck and he was screaming just to get his nails trimmed. I had asked in the past and it was in the computer to always wrap him in a feliway towel and make sure he's calm before they trim his nails. But they were in a hurry that day and they were busy. It was so traumatic to watch. Afterwards the vet tech walked to the door and looked down and there was blood on the collar. She said to the vet, "is he bleeding?" And the vet said no I am. That's what happens when an animal is in a stressful environment and they are in a hurry. And this clinic is supposed to be "fear free." I've never seen this happened in the 12 years I was there. It was awful.
There are bad vets, vets that can’t perform same critical cares as their peers working in emergency clinics. Because the bad vets don’t know what to do they give only option of euthanasia. No other common life stabilizing treatment options given. When you find out later your pet didn’t need euthanized at all. This is a warning for cat lovers. Be very careful and observant of vets. Not all vets like cats. Unfortunately there are too many that are dog lovers of the type that automatically hate cats. I'll never understand why loving dogs makes some people hate cats but I have met plenty of them. And they will proudly tell you how much they hate cats and are usually very smug about it. I have went to a vet who didn't like cats but it took me awhile to figure it out. I now go to a "cats only" vet who is wonderful. Do your cats a favor and be careful choosing a vet.
+Tommy Bones This definitely. Read the reviews about your local vet before taking them there. I've taken my dog to the vet doing routine examinations. I switched after noticing the vet seemed nervous around me. My dog wasn't just scared but protective when going in, and you could hear cries coming from the other room. After I switched vets, his behavior became calmer, much more willing to be examined by the vet.
+Tommy Bones I feel ya. My town is a dog loving town. I live in a town that has 6 strays or feral cats from abandonment. These people think cats can take care of themselves. Vets declaw, tail dock, ear crop, some devocal, and over vaccinate pets in Missouri. Because of this i boycott.
I got screwed and a broken heart because of negligence. The money was more important than life itself. I have a good vet now and he cares. BUT THIS IS RARE . I would say the majority of vets in my area cheated their way thru school. They only know the simple basic stuff you or I would know. When it comes to an emergency- response is "we will have to keep the animal over night" (to prolong it's suffering, mistreat or ignore it, and wring out your wallet.) They act like you are in a fast food drive thru. I pray their evil doings come back on them in a big way for all the suffering they cause to our pets and for our broken hearts!!!!
as a wildlife carer I have a now 3 page long word document full of vet malpractices that i'll someday send to the state vet board when i get too much information. Doesn't take long to fill. Last malpractice I had involved a baby skink with distended bowel and obviously crushed spine, dragging its hind legs. vet gave me it to care without any opiod they had prescribed.....sure i'll just walk into a vet clinic and ask for some opiod by myself. This morning another vet gave me an obvious poisoned victim, told me he was fine.
last year i got a cockatoo in with a severed spine, crawling around on the floor. Possum four years ago with severed spine, crawling around on the floor. they kept both animals overnight, didn't even check them animals. both from the same vet.
My dog was given the wrong medication and it almost killed him! I was able to take him to a different veterinarian and he was able to save Bowsers life!
@@Hanna3471-r9q That's because most vets don't care, don't respect you and just want money. They're disgusting (not the guy in this video). If you told them they'll just argue with you.
@@Hanna3471-r9qthey band together and seem to think they do no wrong...they forget your the owner and are with the animal almost 24hrs a day and know them better than any vet most of them don't look at an animals history and see what works and what doesn't and start from tbe beginning even though you tell them the best treatment...they hate it and most are so arrogant and think they are so much better than you...rant over and I could go on 😢
i had a man vet that i liked and trusted but he was retireing and he had a woman vet there taking his place and i brought one of my cats and he jumped off the table and and she grabed him the the back leg and lifted him back onto the table with his back leg and i ididn't like that at all so i went to the man vet and told him i don't like her she is not a very good vet and he told me i was not the first to complain about her there were others and she didn't keep her job he found someone better
I would like to ask pet owners around your area has there been a massive influx of female vets ? I know around my area in the last ten years its really difficult to find a male vet and since this started ive noticed the quality of treatment drop sharply and its got so bad that ive decided my remaining dog that i have just now (13 year old Lab Staffy mix) will be my last because im fed up leaving the vets angry and with useless pills i get there eventually but its with a lot of heartache in fact the current vet i have i would describe her as the vets version of Dr Shipman who was "hinting" to get my dog pts when all he needed was the correct treatment which i had been almost begging for from the first appt..she is that bad she couldnt even manage to cut my dogs inside front nails properly then saying he needs an operation (was never needed) she is one horrible arrogant person even forgetting i was in her surgery room and leaving me there for 15 minutes and then laughing about it more male vets are needed.
Imagine my dog is been sick for more than 2 years with bad skin bumps that give her a lot of itching, vets do not have any clue, It took me all this tome to find out she has lyme, she suffers and I cant get them to five her anthibiotics. 😡😡😡
The vet i went to with my now 14 year old rescue dog has NEVER ever been examined by her . 5 years and never once an exam yet i paid for an exam furthermore the assistant just took my credit card number
You may not have a choice anymore. There’s a “consortium” buying up private veterinary practices. Now they have a giant Monopoly of extreme prices and months long waits. That force you to go the the 24h emergency vet at even higher prices owned by guess who? I don’t blame the actual Dr. because they are under a program of constraints of time and pushing expensive tests that usually reveals nothing. This makes me pause when I even think of adding a new pet. Terrible for pets and people. Just so sad.
that's why this has to be exposed. There will be a documentary coming out in late summer/early fall on vet malpractice and the cover ups. I am helping to fund this documentary that will be airing on PBS. Look up "Joey's Legacy documentary' here on you tube. You will see a preview and don't hesitate to donate to the organization. They have a whole bunch of competent vets they bring on who want to band together to stop this nonsense. They, themselves, are admitting that the vet world is a big mess and they are tired of it and are serious about making a change. I am so grateful to them.
@@christineczyryca5820 If I only won the mega lotto, I’d be turning the gouging veterinary‘s on their ears and help the good ones too. I’d buy medical supplies in bulk to get good prices.
Hehe I just found out my dog is a cat
as a wildlife carer I have a now 3 page long word document full of vet malpractices that i'll someday send to the state vet board when i get too much information.
Only 3 😂 I've got a whole book 😢
Complaining about them won't work they close ranks.
My dog was given the wrong medication and it almost killed him! I was able to take him to a different veterinarian and he was able to save Bowsers life!
I'm so sorry to hear that. :(
That happened to me. Unfortunately I am haven't found another vet who believes my story yet
Look into steroids they will work but be easy on them.

If I only won the mega lotto, I’d be turning the gouging veterinary‘s on their ears and help the good ones too.
I’d buy medical supplies in bulk to get good prices. I’d never allow pet insurance because that system simply perpetuates the price increases throughout the system just like it has for humans. Cash, credit or loan only. A staff with fair pay that actually love animals. World class apprenticeship and facilities. Best of the best for animals and people. Fun to dream anyway.
Vets 4 Pets are the biggest mob round my way and they love money.
I dont like my vet at all.....very insensitive. ..
PAY HIM HIGH
No heart or honour will bring? Bad vet
Thats their job thats why their dont treat people..Going to the POTUS Congress
