- In today's video from Universal Studios Florida it's time for round number two of Halloween Horror Nights 2023. Join me as I take you around the entire park to do everything that I didn’t get to do on opening night plus we do all ten houses again, all five scare zones and so much more! I also show you how to get the most out of stay and scream if you get to the park earlier. However, this year HHN is completely out of control with the crowds and the express lines could be a lot better for the price you pay and i'll show you why in this video. Thank you so much for watching, if you enjoyed this video please give it a big thumbs up!

I’ve been going to HHN for 11 years now and this by far has been my absolute favorite year. Yes, the crowds are insane but if you’re open to it and able to go it’s so worth it. Me and my wife have the ultimate frequent fear pass this year because we know next year we won’t be able to go as much because we just found out we have a new baby on the way! This will be our second child, we’ve gone 5 nights each and they’ve all been wonderful experiences. Dev is absolutely right about that the merge ratios need to be adjusted and they probably need to expand the event into 2 parks eventually just to space the crowds out a bit. But I’m so happy universal is thriving
Congratulations on the fantastic news!
This will be my first time.
Any tips to avoid crowds that you all have found or is it the obvious stuff like maybe weekdays?
@@EricDBruce weekdays are definitely better I’ve had a lot of luck with Thursday nights not being as crowded as a Wednesday, Friday or Saturday night would be. But I’m also an annual passholder so we get there for the “stay & scream” and usually knock out 3-4 houses easy. But I would say if you don’t have an annual pass to just get there asap and do all the houses with shorter waits first and if you’re interested in seeing the Nightmare Fuel show see that as well
@@PCDev appreciate it man! Been following your videos for a long time and always appreciate you for your honesty about what’s actually going on in the parks and how you feel about it because 9 times out of 10 I feel the exact same way
We went last night 9/28/23. We did the stay and scream. Scanned in at 2:45pm. We also had express passes. We did all 10 houses, all the scare zones. We also went on Men in Black, Gringotts and the Mummy. We ate at Louie's and also had some snacks from the food kiosks. We had a great time!
You guys appreciating team members really means a lot because it is really tough working hhn. So glad you like darkest deal that’s my favorite house!!
I don't do halloween events, but the crowds do look insane. It looks impossible to do everything in one night.
I went to the one in Hollywood and only got through 3 houses and the terror tram. I was extremely disappointed in the Stranger things 4 house. I could've skipped that one instead of waiting in line for over 80 minutes.
@@alexandriapoolewhy were you disappointed? Did it suck?
@@alexandriapoole the stranger Things in Orlando was awesome in my opinion. My favorite house this year
@@absolutnadia basically no scares. The Orlando set also looks better n has more scenes
@@alexandriapoole interesting.
My bf and I are annual pass holders and we went last Sunday…we only were able to do only 3 houses!! And that’s because we stayed until 2 am. It was crazy after about 7 pm. The express passes were also sold out and super expensive. They need to see next year what they can do. The death eaters made my whole night 💕
Wait is HHN included with annual passes?
Only for the premier annual pass is it included
Thank you for filming this. I am disabled & cannot travel or walk through these kinds of events. I miss going to "haunted houses", even little town ones. I appreciate your adventures. Have you done 17 Doors? That looks TERRIFYING! I will keep following your adventures! Have fun for me too! :-)
Me and my gf and her sister went at the beginning of September and had a blast. This is only my third year doing HHN being from Indiana but I’ve done it all those times in a row and have made it a yearly thing because I absolutely love this event! The crowds are a bit crazy this year but glad you and Bianca had a great time Dev! Excited to see what they got in store for 2024! If anyone reading this hasn’t gone I highly recommend and definitely take all of Devins advice and tips. Very helpful!
It’s nice to just see y’all just having a good time! My pregnancy has kept me from going this year (which is probably a good thing lol) but so many bloggers keep these videos so professional, y’all made this video so enjoyable and it gave me such a good laugh!! Actually felt like I was there with you guys!
OMG!! Lots of people. Always exciting to watch your videos ❤Thanks for sharing!
Great video. Going this coming week and hoping we can still have fun even with crowds. Excited to see what else you'll be covering
Thanks, Dev..we missed HHN this year. Thanks for taking us through the houses and scare zones. ❤
One of the best and helpful HHN videos I’ve seen all month. My mom and I are going to HHN on Halloween night and you given us a lot of great tips!
I'm going on Halloween too.See you in the Fog!
You were ahead of us at the stay and scream for dueling dragons; the crowds for every of the 6 nights we did - even when bad weather hit - were insane.
Me and my wife saw you guys at HHN while on our honeymoon. You were a big motivator in us going to Universal and seeing you there was a highlight of our trip! Thank you for taking the time to talk with us and include us in your video!
RIP TOUR is completely worth it it was CRAZY this year
Great job on this video! Looks fun & scary! I wish I was going this year!
Wow what a crazy show. Love your videos and looks super crowded. But the express pass is worth it but a shame it's so expensive. You all are so cute discussing the scary houses with the bodies.
Thanks for a complete a thorough showing of everything. Definitely prepared when I go in two weeks. 👍
I love your honest reviews!
This was a fun video to watch dev thank you!
Another great video !!! Love all of your content Dev :D
13th year attending! Honestly can’t wait. I’ve done express, frequent fear, and R.I.P tour (all wonderful options). My advice for those who are doing general admission and are worried about these massive crowds, DO MORE THAN 1 NIGHT (2 night’s minimum) you’ll be able to do it all.
One of the best, most informative videos I've seen of HHN! I'm going next Sunday and hoping I can get to all the houses!
Hey Dev! I wanted to let you know those Minions you saw during HHN were actually out for a special taping with Al Roker on the Today Show! He talked about the new Minion Land and went through the Stranger Things house! It was cool to see it! 😁
Great video! I've never been to Halloween horror nights but it looks like so much fun! LOL
Some good tips, we're going in a couple of weeks and cannot wait. Went last year for the first time (we're from UK and love Halloween and love Universal) one of the express lines last year was unbelievable and was at least a 1 hr wait, same thing they seemed to be just letting a steady stream of regular line through. Thanks for the video 🎃🧟♀️👻
Great video man! It is definitely more busy this year . Wife and I decided we were done for the year last week lol
Completely agree with everything that you are saying! Even Wildwater Kingdom and Dorney Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania use both the waterpark and the theme park. This event has become so overly crowded. We went on a Sunday in September with a disability pass and lines were insane! We do love it though.
Thank you for showing us that stay cool
HHN awesomeness sledgehammered that like button sharing out Great video as always Dev
Hey Dev and Bianca! This really looks cool! Probably won’t do it this year but something I really should do!
Hi Dev! Philly watcher here and I was curious if you and Bianca would consider doing the eastern state penitentiary here, and maybe even other haunt fests around the area at the parks. I think seeing you guys in a different environment would be cool for the Halloween season!!
Happy Halloween Dev and Bianca, finally catching up after our USA trip, had an amazing time in New England ❤
We were there this past Saturday and the crowd was insane. I feel that if you are paying extra for a special event, they need to have a capoff of the amount of people they let in like Walt Disney does. We only got into 4 houses. We were shoulder to shoulder the entire evening.
Try and get there early next time! Went both nights this weekend and wait times for most houses don’t go over 35 minutes until around 9 PM. Especially if you stay and scream, you can do most houses in the first few hours of the event
@@TheCharper007 Thanks! We have annual passes and were already in the park early. The houses jumped from 10-20 minutes to over and hour by the time we got through the first house and stayed that way most of the evening. Stranger Things stayed at over 2 hours. The park was overly packed for it to be a special event when we went this year. I would probably try to get the VIP package if we go back next year.
We went on a Thursday in September; with the stay and scream we waited one hour for The Stranger Things houses. Average wait for every house was easily around one hour. We ended up just filling our time with other things until 1am when crowds lightened and we got through all ten houses! Also we noticed a lot more intoxicated people than normal. EMT rolled at least five people out. I agree Universal HHN needs to expand it's gained a lot of popularity.
It’s too crazy… just like Disney events, HHN is losing worth due to the insane crowds…
Looks awesome!
Not sure if September was just crazier crowd wise but we went last night (Friday) and the standard lines were very light. Stranger things hardly topped 80 minutes the entire night and most houses stayed around 35 minutes. We were able to easily do every single house, the show, rides and food before 11 when our express started when we did all the houses again!
Thank you for the video and the tips. Great video very informative. I appreciate the tip for stay and scream holding area and the regarding the RIP Tour and the Express pass. I will pass the information on to my sister. The RIP tour was sold out for the night in October that we selected to go.
Saw yall there !!! That night was kickass ! Have fun !
Thank you for sharing that there were some express passes available at the gate & possibly after 11.
I was upset when they sold out as I heard you could upgrade when you get there.
I wasn't sure how it was going to go with no express & chronic illness.
Thanks for the video!! 🖤
Glad you enjoyed your visit, I do the chucky voice
I've just got back to the UK from a trip to HHN. It was AMAZING. But definitely busier than last year! I really loved how everything was linked to Oddfellow, it really brought the theming together. But I agree that it should be split over 2 parks now. They would definitely get the numbers!
You are absolutely right about scare actors being exhausted it takes dedication to do what they do.And zodiac scare zone is the the best lots of iconic scare actors in that zone . Yes I'm definitely going. Thanks for the coverage.👍🎃🧟👹
great vlog, dude! Stranger Things underposted on me too. Waited barely 30 minutes for a 65 min wait. Great seeing you at the park :)
Great take on it Dev 👏
I've been waiting for you to post another HHN video! My daughter was super excited to see you guys in her house last night. Also just so you know in the Shipyard scar zone Dr Oddfellow is the little wolf man and how you know is they are wearing a ring master top.
Nice. Thank you
Dev it was so cool to cross paths with you and Bionca. It was soon after the 5:15 opening of Last of us and we moving quickly to the next ride. We did 5 houses on Thursday and snacks and treats. Friday we had express and did all 10 houses rode some rides had all the treats we could eat and saw the Megan’s and the death eaters. 🎉
Lines are very doable, thought I was walking into a trap after watching your video. Also… nightmare fuel was maybe the best show studios have ever aired… give it a try 😉
Went to HHN this past Sunday, definitely agree stay and scream the only way to do it if you can’t afford express or RIP tour!! Got to do stranger things and Last of us done by 6.15
We were there the same night as you, the rain never wanted to let up. We just accepted the fact we were going to stay soaked and made the best of it, lol. The next night though (Friday) was great weather and super low crowds. It still took us 45 minutes to get through the Last of Us with Express. Darkest Deal was our favorite house, no question!
I am going for the first time this year on October 25. I can't wait
Enjoyed this.
I’ll be out to HHN on October 4th for my bday! I’m so hyped!!
Bat Lady got me some type of way
I went back in early Sept and I totally agree. The main houses that had me a little anxious were Exorcist, The Last of Us and Stranger Things. And after going through all 10 houses those were the houses at the bottom of my list LOL
Universal Monsters, Yeti and Darkest Deal were my top 3
100% agree with Monsters Unmasked as #1. We got great scares everytime and it's decorated well. Also one of the few houses with smells, where were all the smells this year?? Love Yeti also as it was my second fav house :D
I was right there when you took that hogwart express clip, but I was too shy to say hi haha 😅
We came from the UK and went last night, we managed 2 houses and the scare zones didn’t have any scare actors because of the rain, we ended up leaving at 10pm, we didn’t get express passes but wished we had, I went 10 years ago and it was so much better
so glad i didn’t go last year, but i have a bad feeling it’s going to be just as packed this year, if not more packed. it’s insane how crowded it’s getting each year, they’re going to have to expand their park at this point because as the years pass, it’s only going to get more jammed, i can’t imagine that’d be a good experience.
Went for the first time on a Wednesday and it was insane! We did stay and scream starting with Stranger Things and still only got through 3 houses. The humidity was so bad, even though it was 15 degrees cooler, from all the people packed in so tight but… I definitely want to go again next year! With express pass!! Great food, awesome scare actors, fun people to talk with. I just was in shock at the crowds! We had done research that said September and mid week you shouldn’t need express pass but… lesson learned. Thanks for your helpful videos!!
I'm going on a Wed. and on the internet it said it's the less crowded of the week.
@@lianelayman6584you will have fun even if it is crowded 😊
It’s really all about strategy and making sure you buy express (especially if you’re only going one night). My fiancé and I are annual pass holders, and we paid the extra money for express. We did do stay and scream, but after seeing the initial line for stranger things, we decided to express everything (stranger things was a 90 minute wait by 5:30). Outside of the wait during stay and scream, we didn’t wait longer than 20 minutes for any house with express. Dev and people like him really helped with our strategy on what order to do the houses. We finished all ten houses by 11:30. We were also able to go to the tribute store and take our time shopping, as well as try all the food items and drinks we were interested in. I know express is expensive, but I wouldn’t recommend going unless you have the means to buy express, or you’re going multiple nights during the season. The standby lines were ridiculous, and at one point almost everything was an hour or more, with stranger things and the last of us eclipsing 100 minute wait times for standby.
Express is on my radar for when I go to HHN on the 21st
Excellent coverage of hhn …. Please do more …you make a nice univ ambasador
Enjoyed your video and it brought back some good memories for me. However I've got to say missing the show was a mistake. In my opinion it's a must, it was fantastic
Thanks for the shout out Dev 🎈🎈🎈🎈 - UOTM
My parents and I saw you and Bianca outside minions cafe towards the end of the night that you filmed this, it was really cool seeing you.
I agree ☝️ the crowds are insane
This year was my second HHN event and truly more packed than last year. Me and My Girlfriend purchased Express passes knowing it would be a busy year and we got all 10 houses done . We also experienced a 40 minute wait time at the last of us house with express . I feel like universal needs to work on it . But honestly it was a truly awesome experience this year .
We did an RIP tour the second week it was open… it was still such a crazy mess!! We couldn’t follow our guide very easily, it was so crowded.
We couldn’t wait in any food lines because they were too long. I just don’t appreciate them not capping it. Too many people. 😣
Its to be expected at HHN, heavy crowds. And if UO was to expand HHN to IOA, I can bet they will increase the tickets even more since it will use both parks. But the times I've been this year so far w/ frequent fear pass, its been really fun! I wish there was more scare zones tho, and food booths!
Thabks for sharing! We dont care for HHN, we will be there this weekend and luckily we can enjoy IOA at night, I would be disappointed if this spread into IOA, this party is definitely not for everyone😂
“Are you excited?” “No, I’m sick of this place. We come here every week.”
Much love from RDA DEV!
Express is to reduce wait times, not eliminate it altogether.
Nice footage thank for covering the event. I only went 2 times this year. Too crowded
I do agree they need to expand the event to Islands of Adventure which would definitely mitigate the overcrowding. Another thing I read in an article is that maybe they should make the frequent fear passes more expensive to price people out and that might thin out the crowds
The problem I see is that two different parks means the tickets will be more expensive.
@@cpup100 good point
Hey dev! New York viewer here, my mother and I went Wednesday and the crowds were crazy we had express passes as well we had a great time unfortunately two of the houses were delayed for about 2 hours ( yeti and dueling dragons) my least favorite house this year was stranger things I think we had a really bad run through the house seemed empty there wasn’t a lot of scare actors in the boo holes. My favorite house is between last of us and darkest deal
We went a couple weekends ago and the lines were insane so we only got three houses in. Sure you could buy the expresses passes but at that point the cost far exceeds the value. The haunted house were short and predictable and the scare zones weren't active that much. I guess if you don't mind blowing money it's better than sitting at home. However you could make a night of local haunts and see better quality and spend less money.
Great videos bro. What camera do you use? Very good lowlight quality.
It’s crazy even if you do the stay and scream option with the park admission, you don’t get to see all the houses. I was able to go through 5 and had to leave before midnight bc I was exhausted 😩. Bloodmoon the dark offerings is the scariest house tbh
I was there a couple of weeks ago for my first ever HHN and was massively disappointed by the crowd levels and the amount of queuing I had to do. It was a real shame because I loved the four houses that I got to do.
This year was great! I preordered my tickets about 3 weeks in advance because I had a feeling express would sell out online and it’s more expensive at the park. I was there October 1st and Sundays aren’t as busy, if you go in early you’ll see some empty spots in houses because some scare actors are still getting ready.
If you don’t have express it’s unfortunately pointless. First year doing express and I wouldn’t have it any other way. We got there early for opening scaremony at the gate and finished all houses by midnight.
Stranger Things, Dueling Dragons and Yeti were my faves. Least favorite Chucky and Dark Moon. Scare zones were good as well just wish Oddfellows scare zone had more props and actors.
Wait, Dev, they let you shoot video inside the scare houses now...or did you record that on the low low?
Just go between 10pm to 2am. I did 6/10 houses including The Exorcist and Chucky and we watched the Nightmare Fuel 30 min show. Plus my family and I are newbies from the UK yet we did more or less everything!
Dev and Bianca, always watch all your videos.
Love all them.
Question, do the death eaters have specific times they come out?
Thank you so much for watching! I don’t know what their schedule is exactly but they are out every hour throughout the night.
Thanks for your review. I was at HHN on 10/11/23 (a Wednesday) with kind of crap weather (showers). We did the early entry, no RIP tours, no fast passes as those are crazy pricey. With that said, we entered the park at 3 pm, rode a few rides (Mummy and Transformers), then stood in line at New York. We were able to walk thru 3 houses before 6 pm. By nights end, we were able to walk thru 9 out of 10 houses (missed Chucky but he’s kind of annoying so no great loss). The nightmare fuel show was excellent, most of the houses were fantastic. The only disappointment was the lack of proper scare zones but it was likely due to the showers. Such is life - it was still excellent and I’ve wanted to go for years. That FL weather can never be predicted. At least there were no hurricanes. I do have to say TWO THUMBS DOWN to be charged $30 for the privilege of parking our car in their lot. I mean c’mon : can the price of the tickets as well as the early entry cost cover parking also? We also bought food, drinks, and some merch… but $30 to park? Do better Universal.
I completely agree! It's become oversaturated. To the point where it's not an enjoyable event. I think they're going to have to either expand the event to the other parks or come up with a capacity limit each night. I'm not going again, even though it's a great event that I enjoy.
They’re just gonna have to charge more and price people out. There are no solutions, only trade offs.
4 Roses is a great bourbon!!
We just went to HHN Hollywood yesterday (Thurs, 9/28) with Early Entry at 5:30PM and Express. We got through all 8 mazes and the Terror Tram by 8:30PM. The crowds were insane!
He’s awesome and always ON
Crowds look crazy! We are going Oct 28th. Express pass is now $239pp plus tax. Is it a must or could we just skip a few houses and still have a good night? Does the express pass get you on rides quicker also or just houses?
Hey Dev and Bianca another great video as always. Do you think this has anything to do with people being fed up with Disney or "Disney kids" aging out of MNSSHP/Oogie Boogie Bash or just Universal over selling their event? Maybe both??
We went on weds 9/27. But did the RIP tour. It was crazy busy. We didn’t get any scare zones or the death eaters because of rain.
This is so helpful! Can't wait to go next month. Any way of knowing when the dancing M3gans do their show?? lol
Unfortunately there isn’t a true set schedule. The few times I’ve seen them has been at the top of the hour.
I tried doing RIP this year in California. Sold out. I got the express though for almost the same price. It came with the early access. Even some of the express lines were packed this year.
We are big HHN fans, been to the Orlando and Hollywood events on a number of occasions. The crowds over the past couple of years in particular have reached the point were the event is losing its appeal. Coming from the UK we want to make the most of the event, in our opinion the only way to enjoy the event is via an RIP tour. I agree it is time to rethink the event, it has ran in the same format for a number of years. Whilst the event is still great, it is not at the same level it was 10 or so years ago. By far the best HHN we attended was when they had Friday the 13th, Freddy, Halloween and Leatherface. For me this was peak HHN.
The crowds are so crazy
I had universal monsters at #1 myself 🔥🔥
You filmed me. You were right next to me. Damn
