Wish they had a disc to dice and to do spiral . It would be nice if they did come out with one. But I think I’ll wait to buy one just to see how people really like it. I really love the idea of saving space.
Thanks so much. Wonderful review and extremely helpful. I couldn't figure out how to put it in storage mode. I read the instructions over and over, studied the diagrams, and it just didn't make sense to me. Then I started looking everywhere else - Vitamix sites, other RUclips videos. Nobody made it clear. But you did. I had to watch your video slowly and keep stopping it to make sure I was doing it right. I've already ordered two new discs to make French fries and chips. They cost a small fortune, and I think many people are annoyed with Vitamix for that. They could have included them in the original package - I bought just two of the three new discs since the third one didn't seem useful and I'll have room in the storage container if and when they create more discs - but just buying two new discs and another storage container cost almost as much as the whole unit. So, yeah, a lot of people think this was exploitative of Vitamix, and I'm afraid I do, too. Greedy is a word I've seen used a lot. This on top of forcing people to buy new machines so they can use the attachments. You want to keep your customers happy, Vitamix - don't disappoint them!
Finally someone mentioned the lid topic!! When I got the food processor I thought I got a bad lid! I literally broke a nail trying to open it 🤪 Vitamix cs was kind enough to send me a replacement. The replacement lid is still not as easy to open/close as the blender container lid BUT it’s definitely not as tough as the original lid that came with the processor 🙈
I don’t know how this attachment escaped my radar. Eager to get rid of the cumbersome Cuisinart and the tons of attachments and lids, etc that take up way too much of my kitchen, I went on Amazon to see if there’s an attachment for my KA Mixer and this popped up. I’m sooooo excited! Thank you for the review . . .ordering it now.
Thanks. I'm not strong but I thought I was the only one having trouble getting the lid on and off, especially off. If my husband wasn't home I don't think I could use it. I do, however, love it once it's together.
Your video is so pro and so great. Great presentation. Your voice sounds great. I bought the thing yesterday and I am glad I did. A2500... Your editing is great. The dessert at the end looks delish. I like your storage advise and keeping instructions.
They won't. They want to move everyone up to the more expensive smart models so all the cool attachments from now on are more then likely going to be for the smart systems.
@@jainprachi71 yes i do make roti dough in the vitamix food processor using the s-shaped blade. no need to rest the dough. Pizza dough also comes out great.
I love my 26 year old Vitamix. The food processor has sparked my interest to upgrading and be able to have one appliance to multi task. My current food processor is a work horse and I use it often. It has a 14 cup work bowl and I often use it to capacity. I have concerns about going to a smaller bowl. Have you used yours to capacity and will it run for, say 5 minutes, without difficulty? Also, I have trouble with getting jar lids off due to decreasing hand strength. Any word from Vitamix on improving the lid to make it easier to get off and on? What parts are dishwasher safe? Thank you for a great review!
A little late to the party, but the processor does have pulse. As to the sensor stopping if the feeding tube is not in place, etc, that is a safety feature. Don’t want to put your hand in there. It could happen with little hands especially.
Thank you mentioning that it is a little hard to get on and off. I have a disability and that would make it impossible with me. I think I'll still get it but consider that I'll need someone around to take it off
The way the top attaches is different from a traditional food processor. The Vitamix processor needs to be pushed on and pulled off. A traditional processor usually has a lid that you turn to slide and lock into place! So definitely something to consider.
Does it have a pulse function? I was going to get the A3500 but now I’m thinking if I want to use it as a 2 in 1 blender/food processor then maybe the A3300 with the manual switches would be better so the pulse function would be more responsive or easier. I can’t imagine a touchscreen button for pulsing. If it doesn’t have a pulse function then that’s a deal breaker.
I guess I'd have to buy a new Vitamix blender too, for the processor to work with the blender's base. I have an old Vitamix blender...about 12 years old.
Thank you for the review. Can't wait to order one. I wish it had dual speed like most processors but I'll take it so I can save the space and hassle of a 2nd bulky appliance. You're pie looks delicious too.
It’s ashame. I was hoping this would be the solution to downsize my appliances. I have a cuisinart food processor and Vitamix; this was the chance to consolidate. Setup the new Vitamix food processor to shred some nice parm reg and the plastic knuckles busts on the small shred. Just stay to the appliance that is meant to do this, cuisinart. I’m sure Vitamix will re-release this to be more reliable and durable, but really needs a more integrated component.
@@Daylin821 you might have already bought one by now and know this, but it works best with hard cheeses. Soft cheeses, like mozzarella, you need to harden first by putting it in the freezer for like 30 mins (you aren't freezing it, just hardening it) or else the cheese will just get stuck all over the blade.
Don't forget you need hearing protection when running the vitamix! I do love mine but have earmuffs for hearing protection in the kitchen. I also wish there was a spiralizer attachment, that would be the cat's meow.
@@joyfoodsunshine Wow! I wonder if some of them are loader than others. Our older one was not nearly as noisy as our new one but the new is also more powerful.
My biggest complaint, besides the difficulty of getting the top on/off is cleaning it. It's harder to clean than the other attachments. It's not horrible by any means, just not as easy as the others.
Did you find it difficult to shred certain things like carrots evenly? That’s the main issue I had. This is my first time ever owning a food processor so I don’t have much to compare to but I kind of don’t like the way it shreds. Not sure if it’s worth switching this with another processor

"Thick" and "thin" doesn't mean much to me. Can't you measure the thickness of the slices? Looked more like thin and medium to me. Are there other blades?
It works perfect with carrots, potatoes, parmesan, etc. No issues, no blade getting stuck, etc. The blades fit in to a gear (and both are metal), and the power of the vitamix, the blade doesn't get stuck, if that's what you are worried about.

Thank you for getting right to the point about how this can only be used with the Ascent series. Everyone else seems to be glossing over that.
It also works with the V1200 (Venturist) blender!

Hello, thank you for the video. Have you ever grind meat with the food processor? For example, prepare burger patties? Thanks!
Unfortunately, this will not work on my 7500. Hopefully Vitamix will make one that will work on the classic models.

Were there any leftover pieces/chunks left above the disk when processing?
Yes, there are some pieces/chucks left above the disc. Not very much, but there is some.
How does it compare with the food processor attachment for a kitchen aid mixer?
I'd like to get this attachment to make healthy "Nice Cream". The endless pints of Ben & Jerry's during quarantine has just about done me in.

Hello! I am unsure! I recommend contacting Vitamix to find out!
Are the thin slices thin enough for making Zucchini or sweet potato chips?
You can make the slices pretty thin if you don't push the item in too fast
Does the pulsing feature work with this attachment or is continuous speed the only option?
