Enjoyed that mate , eating them , not for me. But question , I hear there are Trout in Avon. If so can you fish for them ? Fishing and photography my too big passion's. It would be cool to catch a fish there. I saw and got photos of some rather large eels there. Cheers mate. Hope to see you in march / April all being well.
Fishing in the Avon and Heathcote Rivers is allowed although a no fishing zone in the Avon River exists: between the Armagh Street Bridge and Barbadoes Street Bridge. within the Botanic Gardens. Yep big Trout and lots of Eels.
Enjoy it while its still around. From information handed out at the Gamefishing club I work at, 3 of the 5 species are struggling and kiwis don’t care. They’ll fish them to extinction.
I've never liked whitebait, always found it tasteless.Another over-rated food that everyone else raves about was mutton bird although I'm not sure if the saltiness was just a preservation technique.
Oh yes mutton bird .Not for me my friend . They say when you cook a mutton bird cook it with a brick once the brick gets soft throw away the mutton bird and eat the brick.
Cheers Pete, great vid 👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
