If you compare this with the usual Transformer cartoon characters and then Michael Bay's, there's huge contrast between on how they present the characters. Usually the cartoon versions present the characters interacting with each other personally while the Bayverse ones were treated as money shots or adult comedy with few interactions.
I love the relationship between Noah and Mirage. It's a completely different kind of human-Autobot friendship than Charlie and Bumblebee, with Bee being both mute and amnesiac so he's kind of like a big metal baby, while Mirage banters and jokes and acts like a college best buddy with Noah. Plus, with him being more obscure he actually felt like he was going to die when he fought Scourge. Unlike Bumblebee who's too popular and just leaves you like "as if you're really gonna do it" 😂
I just love it wasn't Bumblebee for once. He's always being the main guardian of the humans in everything. I'm happy they gave that role to someone else and had some fun with it too
when he shifted his parts during the chase, that was my favorite bit, and realy made me think that this mirage is a shifter, and then he turned into multiple cars without scanning so easily, made me think that even more
Wish Mirage could be my badass partner, cause I can always feel his party vibes, and he and I are always cool to each other. He'll be my main bot, my dude, and my friend.

They actually got the Car wrong, It was actually a 1998/2002 Era F1 Car, and the movie Is set in 1994. They should have used the Ferrari 412T (Which was Kinda Ugly Honestly)
Way better character then bumblebee they had movie after movie to give bumblebee a boost in characterization with his actual voice. But oh well mirage to me is what bumblebee couldn't be

They used him so well that he feels he is there throughout the movie while still being only for 6 minutes.
He had more than 10 minutes of screentime actually. The creator might've decreased the amount of time due to copyright.
