- Barbara has earwax blocking both ears. We are able to remove all of the impacted cerumen by using a combination of ear irrigation with a modified waterpik and a ear curettage with a flexible plastic earwax curette.

January of 1994, yes, I remember when, I had my ears washed out. I had spent the holidays in Los Angeles, and on New years Day, flew back to NJ with an earache...try THAT just once in your life. My ear bothered me for about two weeks. when I finally went to the doctor, he flushed it out with a much less gentle irrigation tool than this....but I was amazed at the amount of gunk that came out of me ear. I had no idea so much could be in there. When my ear opened up, i was so relieved. I can't tell you how long my ear was clogged, but cleaning it out was the absolute best feeling in the world. 30 years later, I still think back to that feeling, and it makes me smile.
I myself have had ear issues all of my life. The machine that you use and other physicians should have some type of silencer on it. I say this out of the sensitivity that comes with the ear issues. I never would of believed that ears could cause so much pain or traumatic for people with ear issues. For youtube to want to stop these videos I would say they are so wrong because of all the garbage on youtube these types of videos are more educational and interesting than all the other senseless drama they do allow. Thank you Auburn Medical Group for your videos, it helps me to know it is not a battle with the ears I do alone. :) Have a blessed day.

Amounts. It catches the dirt that would otherwise get in your ear
No we don’t, some ears are as clean as a whistle whilst others get thick black wax. I used to syringe loads of ears as a district nurse. Some you see the eardrum perfect. We all have hairs that’s stops dirt but not everyone gets a build up of wax.

I have always been fascinated by ear wax removal and I really enjoy having my own ears cleaned, however through my friend who can pick them out with her ear picking tools like a pro. You will not believe how hyped I was when I found this RUclips channel recently. I hope for many more great videos and keep doing what you do!

Dr. Vaughan I want to tell you how much I enjoy the talking during the videos. I find myself looking for new one from different doctors and they always play music. They are great videos but the voice makes it so much better.
Next, RUclips please stop starting to block the medical videos. There are so many other things you need to focus on like people doing drugs and posting it, or people hanging up on 1 person and beating them up so bad...
I hate to break it to you, but those videos of medical procedures put to music are mostly footage obtained by a person who is not even a medical professional and uploaded to RUclips. I get regular alerts informing me of such videos using my material without permission.
So sorry to hear you've also been hit with the adpocalypse. So many of my fave RUclipsrs have been affected and yet we see others who end up on trending with even worse stuff! Thanx for sticking with it and giving us our dose of ear wax LOL! And thanx to your awesome patient!

@@siennadavis1754 hi Sienna, what's happening is that RUclips is trying to censor a lot of what we watch, because advertisers don't like a lot of the stuff that we love watching. Like pimple popping videos etc.
It's becoming ridiculous but the advertisers have all the money and power which they can and do use to stop us seeing what we want to see. It's quite Orwellian. Big Brother is watching!!
I find this informative and interesting. I've not had a problem and would expect my PCP to acknowledge if there was one. You do a nice job in removing the wax that the patient would not be able to do himself.
Irrelevant really, but what beautiful eyes the patient has, very soulful.

You are considerate and respectful of your patients; not all doctors tell patients what they're doing as they're doing it. It's important for doctors to give patients information about their condition. After the procedure is complete I would love to see a shot of all the wax you got out her ear. I enjoy your vids, keep them coming!

Watch Rhys Barber of Audiology Associates for a professional fit for a king. The amount of wax I've seen over 5''' long is amazing.

Black Mountain I agree. It is my understanding that irrigation is not longer recommended.
Lot of patients are complaining of cold water. You need to make sure the water is warm.

I like having my ears clean and if so much better you can actually hear everything and some people don't even like to have their ears cleaned this is the only safe way to do it 🤗

One thing in your videos I never see is how astonished the patient is when you talk to them after the removal. I had my ears flushed once when I was a teenager and it felt like everyone was yelling at me when they spoke for a couple days.
I realize he "electrronic" water pick sort of thing used for irrigation makes it easier on the doctor, not having to stand there and manually squirt water in someone's ears but it's so loud! I had to have his done at least once a month as a preteen until my Dr finally said "You know instead of coming in so much I think you could do this at home". My ear wax would compact and was extremely hard to remove, I KNOW I wouldn't have been able to stand the noise of that irrigator, it would be just too loud for me to sand! Do you think the company could work on making the motor less noisy? If so I am sure they could sell more to doctors and patients alike. Heck I would probably even buy one, because there is something going on with my right ear as we speak and I am sure something like this could be an asset!

I'm not really in to someone digging around in my ear like this. I also do not like irrigation. There are a few other procedures I might try.

I found out that hair spray can harden it..
I hate that instrument !... A couple of times, my dr. used it on my ears cleaning, and it was awefull... But now, a different doctor just use a syringe with warm water, and it´s so nice and clean procedure.

My PCP tried to remove wax from my ears but he had to stop because it really hurt and I could not be still. Is there a numbing agent that can be used?

I’ve been removing ear wax for my husband’s ears for years. I use a liquid formula drops to help break down the ear wax first before irrigating them. Works so good!
I would think the noise produced by this machine would case pain but she never mentioned it
