    I was born near where I now live, moved away when I was six and returned at 43 ( i'm now a few weeks from 60). I've fallen in love again with where I'm from and will never leave. So your story resonated immediately with me, as did the sound of that beautiful guitar. Closer to a Martin than say, a Collings. Heavenly. I'd never get one that cheap over here in the UK, sadly.

    It's awesome when you find a used guitar that you love and can get it at the right price too. I just got a wonderful Martin OM-21 that was a couple of years old but in mint condition. It's my forever acoustic guitar for sure. It sounds and plays better than any other acoustic I've touched.

    Very nice video and guitar. If I can be of any help here's my Huss and Dalton and J-45 story: I acquired a new J-45 which was great and had easy action, and my first serious guitar. 2+ years later, while looking for a Tony Rice large soundhole type of dreadnought, I came across a new Huss and Dalton D-RH which was one of the nicest acoustics I had ever tried out. It was reasonably priced at the time and I decided to buy it with some apprehension as it was over my budget. Fast forward three years and I can't put it down, the guitar is just wonderful. The J-45 was excellent in all respects, but I was so happy with the H+D that when I saw a H+D DS Crossroads (mahogany) listed on Reverb I thought I could try to replace the J-45 with it as they are, essentially, the same guitar. The exchange fell through initially as the owner was reluctant to part with it. I suppose this was the best indication of it being a good guitar since I couldn't actually try it, the other being builder reputation. The owner came back four months later to ask me if I was still interested. I managed to sell the J-45 within two days and get the Crossroads. And oh my, the Crossroads is simply incredible and dare I say it, far superior than my J-45., an amazing instrument. I feel real lucky, privileged and humble to look after them and play them. Enjoy your beautiful guitars Jeremy and keep us updated! :-)

    Hi Jeremy, I have a Martin OO-18 and it’s fantastic sound just keeps getting better all the time. I’ve always thought Huss&Dalton had a great tone. I’ve played many guitars and always go back to that traditional sound of Martin, however I’d like to have a H&D some day. Nice sounding guitar dude. I like it!

    I have a Martin D-28, HD-28 and a guitar that is essentially a D-28 marquis spec wise and soon a second with the same specs as my first custom but with ADI/BRAZ, made by Dave Nichols at custom pearl inlay in Malone NY. when my second Nichols custom gets here. i will be doing a comparison. Not sure if youd consider his as boutique but they sure are awesome.

    I found a used H&D TDR Custom on Craigslist, torrefied Adi top, one small ding on the back. I kept missing the replies to my emails because they went to Spam, I figured it had been sold. Saw it again on CL for $100 less, finally got in touch and drove ( like a bat out of hell ) 4 hours from just south of Richmond, Va. to Kensington, Maryland. Paid $2650, great deal, great guitar. H&D makes as fine a guitar as you could want, keep looking, be prepared jump when you find a good used one.

    Hi, I enjoy your videos very much. It’s all subjective, right? I find boutique guitars to be too chimey. My D28 does it for me. Do you know any others with that kind of tone? Would love to know. Thanks.

    • @JeremySheppard
      @JeremySheppard  3 года назад

      It's mostly subjective. Boutique guitars are very diverse so you can find whatever you want. The D28 is the most common type of boutique guitars. Here's a video I did about them.
