I studied an engine much like this, only much larger! It was originally fitted to a navy target drone I believe called a shrike. Compressor was considered "mixed flow" design, engine used the same fuel/oil mix as well. It had no oiling system.
How did they kept it cooled

Percebi que a própria pressão positiva de ar frio faz a refrigeração dos rolamentos e da câmara de combustão assim tem um equilíbrio de temperatura para um funcionamento perfeito e percebi que os rolamentos não devem ser de aço carbono devem ser aqueles de cerâmica pra aguentar absoluta rotação e atrito de centrifugação muito bem explicado
Muito interessante sem vontade de comprar algumas para fazer alguns experimentos!!!

Yes and when you get it its really quite a simple machine isn't it. In a way its simpler than an internal combustion engine... I guess the devil was in the detail for those first large scale engines back in the 30s and the materials they needed operating at the very edge of what was possible at the time. The German axial compressor on the front was a stroke of genius getting that working...

Make an engine with 1000 kilo thrust already. Get us out of the propeller age in small aircraft.
A turboprop configuration can still be ideal with a jet engine. So props are here to stay and they're good stuff.

Seems to me the flow reversal actually impedes thrust production. Have any straight-through designs?
davidsirmons. Only combustion air is reverse flow through the vaporizing fuel burners, this is done to heat the vaporizers.
Secondary air enters the combustor from the in/outside.
@@johno9507 Wouldn't bother explaining it. Often you find comments like this and it demonstrates their true knowledge for what they are talking about.
For most small jet engines, it makes more sense to go with a reversed flow design. From what I have read so far, engines perform best when they get the highest pressure possible before being combusted. To do this they slow down the air to convert air velocity into pressure. This means that the air isn't moving very fast after going through the compressor, so the path doesn't need to be very aerodynamic. Also, centrifugal compressors tend to have more advantages over axial (straight through) compressors because of their simple construction.
I don't have actual experience with engines, but I have read many design books such as "Model Jet Engines" by Thomas Kamps.

@@user-ho8yz9be4m Видимо, да. Так в итоге сколько расход-то?) Я просто не понимаю как 28 килограмм в час выходит, поэтому и уточняю. Если расход 0.47 г/мин, то (0.47*0.001кг)/(1/60час)=0.028кг/час
@@Quanfo 28,2 кг/час это 40 литров 300 миллилитров, в минуту это 670 миллилиторов (два бокала), в секунду это 11 миллилитров (примерно десяти кубовый шприц).
@@Quanfo проверяем заявленные параметры. 28.2 кг/час это 423 кг воздуха для сжигания керосина, общая масса 451,2 кг/час, или 0,125 кг/сек 17 кг тяги это 166,77 ньютон, итого скорость потока из сопла 1334 метра в секунду.

where the ignition plug?
This is a kero start meaning it uses a ceramic burner in the combustion chamber. The older style engines, usually gas start, have external plugs.
