Butchers and field dress’ a moose. Uses the offal and marrow. Then uses the moose hair to tie his own flies. That animal did not go to waste. In fact, that moose keeps on giving by supplying salmon. Wow. Props to that man. Dude has the highest rated man card out there.

Mad respect for Matty getting hands on with how meat is actually procured. Its easy to demonize hunting but this is the most ethical, and moral way to get meat. It does my heart good too see a movement towards sustainable harvest of our resources. Proud of Matty, proud of vice.

@@dantecain6277 No one hunts for sport. Even when trophy hunters pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to hunt exotic big game in Africa, that meat gets delivered to local communities.

For everyone wondering, this series was aired a few years ago but Munchies uploaded it to RUclips a few months ago but kept it unlisted which means it doesn't show up on the channel itself. Now they are releasing it episode by episode. I've stumbled across the series on my recommendations 2 months ago.

i kinda want to go on a backpacking/camping style moose or more realistically, elk hunt with people who know what they are doing. I don't really hunt, but I think I'd like to experience it at least once. I'm sure that when we first approached the animal after it was safe and definitely dead, I would probably cry... just like, the majesty of an animal like that. it's a powerful thing.

the newfoundland accents are all kinda like that. they have a very irish twang. hers was a little stronger than some in this video, but I've heard some people from there speak with such a thick accent that I legit cannot understand anything they say
a lot of the irish migrated to newfoundland during the famine in the 1800s and because parts of newfoundland are quite isolated, the accent stuck.
Matty and Rangs connection and relationship is GOALS. I love them and love even more that I learned about the moose eats in Newfoundland.

Newfoundland reminds me of Norway... And this episode reminds me of my grandfather. He also used heart and tongue when he caught a moose, salt dryed the heart and boiled the tongue. Thank you for giving me this nostalgic feeling, Matty. You are my number one chef in the world!

I stayed in Newfie for over a month in St. Johns. Most AMAZING place I've ever traveled to. The people, culture, food, etc.... are one of a kind.

Depends on where you are really. Where I grew up, in Newfoundland, people speak with an Irish accent. Forty minutes away, at our summer home, I could never understand what they were saying. Five minutes up the road from that was French sounding people who spoke no French. The whole place is a linguist's wet dream.
The food they made at the end is the best thing I’ve ever seen. You can truly see the passion, care, and love in what they made.

I've had moose knuckle specifically suburban white genus.. taste pretty good it comes with an all natural marinade slightly sweet with a hint of salt but I find if you go for back alley moose knuckle specifically 4thestreets genus it gives off a fishy aroma and bitter taste
