I am always watching and learning from you You amaze me with the lengths you go to for any animals I wish more vets were like you I have my own little tiny fighter who has proven them all wrong Got her when she was five weeks and struggling with lactose intolerance of all things, as well as a clubbed foot Now she's three months old and a toe terrorist and runs around with her two buddies I forgot to mention she also had pectoris excavatum
I've done animal rescue for years and we had a kitten that was born with a twisted leg. Over time (months) it corrected itself just because the kitten persisted in walking on the leg.
I got one like this now. I thought the leg was broken but then seen this video. Im try my best to straighten it slowly. But im not going to put her down. She will have a great life regardless.
My mom went to go pick up a calico kitten which was part of a litter of I believe 14 cats when she saw a little black ball of fur half the size of the other kittens. My mom asked about that tiny little black ball and was told that he was the last kitten out so both a room and both his back legs were deformed (both bent inwards at the wrist). He also had trouble eating because the other kittens would push him away so they were just kind of waiting for him to die. My mom, who always had the biggest soft spot for the misfits and underdogs said she'd take him and brought him home. She named him rodeo, he was 8 weeks old but had the movement of a kitten about half his age. With only 3 cats in the household he managed to eat and thrive. My mom did take him to the vet when he was an adult but the vet told her in order to fix his legs both his back legs would have to be broken and reset plus the chances would be he'd lose all mobility in his back legs. He didn't really suffer at all, instead he knew he was different and expected everybody to treat him as the special kitty he was. He still loved to try hunting, could jump on couches and needs and the way he walked and even ran was so cute. One back leg was always in front of the other and all you'd hear was thump, thump, thump. When he got to running it was much louder and almost sounded like a washing machine. He built calluses on his wrist joints to they were pretty tough but they would occasionally bother him, especially on harder surfaces. His solution was he just figured out how to walk doing a handstand. He was good at it too and could even do a handstand going up the stairs. We do believe there was soon inbreeding that happened because he had lots of extra toes. On his back paws he had I think 11 toes on one foot and 13 on the other plus each back for had an extra smaller pad next to the normal pad his front paws each had about 7 toes. Amazingly he lived to be about 15 years old and had been gone for about 8 years now but I still remember some of his quirks fondly such as anytime you are by him he'd reach one his front paws or anytime you went to take I bite and try to steal your fork with the good on it. He never let his differences get in his way and in fact I'm sure he used them to his advantage. My mom loved that cat so much, he was her baby. He was put down a few years after my mom passed and I like to think they are back together again and wherever they are that rodeos little for thumps are still following him everywhere he goes
We saved a 2 yr old cat with this sadly her leg is stuck backwards but she moves very well. When she solder we might have amputate the leg but as of now she is able to move really good . She is also able to use her claws on that foot. 14:41
shocked that vets would say to put it down. At worst you amputate the leg and the kitten still lives a full life. Horrible to think that there are vets out there who are so heartless they won't even investigate.
