    Between this and the Hyperion Tempo, which one would you recommend that can be used as a walking shoe as well? Thanks!

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  6 месяцев назад +2

      I’d go with the launch 10 as a walking shoe too. It’s a bit more padded and the price differential is certainly in favor of the Launch. 🚀

    would you also recommend these shoes for running a marathon ? i am used to Brooks Ghost, but i would like to trie something else...

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  6 месяцев назад

      Are you after cushioning or response? This one is a bit more responsive meaning it’s not quite as soft underfoot. If you’re ok with that then you could run a marathon in them but I think the ghost would be better

    Would these be ok for trail hiking on minimal to no incline for the purpose of light moving long mileage days?

    Is that shoe good for long daily miles I’m looking for a low drop firm midsole high mileage trainer

      @trailandkale  5 месяцев назад +1

      There are better options for long miles. I’d recommend looking towards the Hoka Mach 5, or the Mach X

    How do they compare to the Ghost 15?

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  6 месяцев назад

      Hey 👋🏼 The Launch 10 is more lightweight at 8.2 oz and has a 10mm drop, making it great for everyday running, from easy jogs to tempo runs. It offers medium cushioning with responsive DNA LOFT foam and a breathable knit upper. Priced at $110, it's an incredibly affordable, high-value option.
      On the other hand, the Ghost 15, priced at $140, offers a soft and smooth ride with its new DNA LOFT v2 cushioning. It weighs slightly more at 10.1 oz and has an 11mm drop. It provides medium cushioning, and is available in a GTX waterproof version as well as in wide options. It's a great choice for daily cushioned running.
      Reviews of each can be found here: www.trailandkale.com/gear/brooks-launch-10-review/ and www.trailandkale.com/gear/brooks-ghost-15-review/
      Hope that helps!

    HI - I really liked your reveiw. Just tried this shoe today at the store - it felt amazing and the energy return was amazing. Thinking about to get one - I would may need the GTS version - so i was checking the official site - and I was curious about the the reviewer's comments there,,, can you please check it out for yourself too? Because I got upset on how stupid comments they have put there - and let me tell you, I am a fan of US but, for me reading the comments there it was like wtf why are all US people talking such a BS and stupid things and nonsenese worthless thing there? Everyone was talking about the colours of the shoe and the look of the shoe... only the visuals and NOBODY mentioned anything about how the GTS was good for them at SPEED--- freakin speed which is about this shoe is. Ahhhhh damn. So many stupid pointless comments there. I went there to read some great opinions about the GTS version of this shoe, but no one ever mentions how great is this for speed. What do you see from the comments there?: (

      Thank you!! The only really difference is in the stability of the shoes, so they’ll like feel similar to the standard Launch in terms of speed 👍🏼

    Would these be a good shoe for walking at a theme park for 8-10 hours? Thanks

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  4 месяца назад +1

      I’d say so yes! If you want or need extra support which may be a good thing for standing around all day then maybe also consider the GTS version for added stability

    Ok, I'm gonna say something I might regret (ok, already regret :), but I feel like Brooks is getting lazy with their technology. While everyone else is using new tech in their shoes with reactive plates and designs that look futuristic, Brooks is still rocking the old playbook, which has yet to change because it just works. The Ghost, Adrenaline, and Launch are, for the most part, the identical shoe. Let's call a spade a spade already!! They are identical, and every new version is about adding more foam. MORE FOAM, MORE FOAM
    Price-wise, there is no longer an advantage to buying a Ghost vs. Adrenaline; if you put them side by side on two runners, tell the difference. Ghost was a great running shoe for the economic or intermediate runner, but because of our love for FOAM, now it's basically the same shoe for about the same price; you can't even do what? 🤷‍♂ I'm running with the Launch series, and while they are rated for faster runs or speed training, I did a 1/2 marathon in them at cruising speed (10min-mile) for the first 8 miles. They felt great, and my feet weren't banged up. So yes, you can do distance, but not a full marathon. It depends on your speed and how you strike the ground. I use them around town for my 3.5. mile runs 3x a week and they're fine and I'm not a fast runner so it all works out.
    Lastly, I will say that I have tried more foam-filled shoes. I own the Glycerin Stealth Fit, and it's the worst running shoe ever. After mile 4, my shins are burning, and my legs are worn. They feel like heavy bricks. Who the hell designed them?! Holy Donkey shoes!!! They've become my walking shoes. I mean, if you're going to use the word "Stealth," you better BRING IT!!
    Launch 11 - Prediction...MORE FOAM MORE FOAM HIGHER PRICE

      A pretty good analysis there, although have you looked at the Hyperion Elite 4? The arris plate tech in that is pretty cool - but this is a component brand and not directly designed by Brooks themselves. We wrote about it here: www.trailandkale.com/news/arris-carbon-fiber-plate-brooks/

    • @buddymack
      @buddymack 23 дня назад +1

      @@trailandkale Thank you for the reply and education here. I have seen the Hyperion but honestly haven't done the research on them yet..Love this link and read on the carbon plate...
      On another note, running is becoming a sport for the financially privileged. It's no longer a sport that everyone or anyone can afford to get into without dropping a few hundred on gear. While I am fortunate, I wonder how those less fortunate populations with health-prone disabilities (Heart, Diabetes, Overweight youth, and so on) will be less motivated because they won't be able to afford what the "cool" kids are wearing. But hey in America big pharma has a pill for everyone..🤣🤣
      Thanks again!

      @buddymack I’ve noticed the same with running shoe prices being increased nearly $10 for the next versions each year. That why I like brands like Brooks and Hoka because they offer really great affordable Options
