    I love the idea that the Ghost is a gateway shoe! It is the perfect recommendation for an introduction to a premium running shoe.

      Thanks for supporting the channel! It really is a popping shoe for anyone looking to try out something more premium.

    Tried these on for the first time after almost going with a Hoka Clifton. This was the first pair of Brooks that didn’t hurt my feet just standing in them. As a fellow wide foot person, I noticed the extra room right away as well. Excited to try them out!

      Hi, I had exactly same experience today :) went out of shop with ghost 16 and will make a first test tomorrow. Hope it will be just fine. Good luck!

    Thank you for addressing the color choices so many shoes today have absolutely horrible color options, Altra specifically . Glad to see this line has more appealing options.

      Brooks is one of the few brands that always has a million different colorways for most of their models. It's always nice to have plenty of options.

    Got them a couple days ago. Very comfortable for walking. Should be using them for a run soon!

    Just bought then yesterday coming from new balance 1080 (hated them) and the brooks are wayyyy better. Just enough cushion but way more solid.

    Great review. I have run around 325 miles in Ghost 14 and retired those shoes. Bought another pair just for treadmill. I recently bought ASICS Nimbus 25 for daily running this year but haven't been impressed. Your review has me wanting to purchase a Ghost 16 for my daily running this summer. Thanks.

    • @DcTrimwb6bc
      @DcTrimwb6bc 2 месяца назад

      Yeah the ASICS nimbus are more so for slow recovery runs, or even better yet, jobs where you’re on your feet all day. I would never choose them as my daily trainer though, way too soft for that.

    Thanks for this episode Steve! I haven’t run in Brooks shoes in decades- but this funny video has made me reconsider!

      Thanks for watching! It's so hard nowadays to stay with one brand when there are so many great options to choose from. Let us know what you think if you try them out.

    It seems like there’s more to spring and forefoot flexibility which I appreciate. The 15s were stiff for me.

      The nitrogen-infused DNA Loft v3 midsole definitely has more life to it compared to the v2. It is a great addition to the Ghost that gives it a bit more bounce.

    As you mentioned, there are so many other more exciting shoes on the market that compete with the ghost, it doesn’t really excite me that much. The only one I have had is version 14 in the beer color way. Being a huge craft beer fan, I couldn’t pass that up. I have roughly 70 actual running miles on it, but I just wear it as my Casual, I need a cushion shoe on my foot model. I found it very good for that. I’m sure the nitrogen midsole on this new model will help with the performance.

    • @RunMoore

      There are a plethora of models from other brands that work as a fantastic alternative to the Ghost. Some of our favorites in the same category include the New Balance 880 and Mizuno Wave Rider. There's nothing wrong with the current Ghost, there are just so many choices. The nitrogen is a nice addition. Gives the Ghost a nice responsiveness.

    Just got this shoe today. I was interested Nitrogen injection spot. How often/miles should you re-inject the shoe? I tried on the Ghost and Adrenaline GTS 23 and these definitely had more bounce to em. The walk was definitely more smooth and felt like I was gliding. Great review!

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  3 месяца назад

      The Nitrogen injected spot is not for the consumer to reinject nitrogen into the shoe. It is a visual aesthetic for the shoes that incorporate the DNA Loft V3 midsole. No need to get the injection kit out!

    I was dead set on getting the Cascadia 16 because it is a trail shoe but not crazy about the color schemes. I absolutely love the ghost raspberry apricot color so I am agonizing over which choice to make. Does the ghost perform on the trail and what problems could it have? I would definitely have to get a narrow fit though because my feet aren’t wide at all.

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  2 месяца назад

      As long as you stick to more casual trails with dirt/gravel paths you should be perfectly fine in the Ghost 16. Brooks has a firmer cushioning that helps the shoe hold up better in rougher conditions.

    I have been running since 1972 and have ran in every iteration of the Ghost.
    I have never found a need to not buy Ghosts.

    Hi thanks for the video. Would you recommend this show for walking primarily? I'm a heel walker - If not this shoe, which brand/ shoe would you recommend? I currently pivot between Brooka and Saucony? Thanks

      Go fit over function. I can't stand the toebox of a Saucony whereas Brooks just feels like home.

      This is a great walking shoe. Occasionally we do recommend trying out a higher cushioned shoe like the Glycerin or Ghost Max. However, you can't go wrong with the Ghost either.

    I’ve been getting Ghost 15s over and over again, only because I have Haglunds deformity on my heel and my heel gets irritated. The higher heel drop and soft heel cup has helped me a lot. I can also get it on wide. I do however enjoy more of what you’re talking about with a very responsive shoe which the Ghost kinda lacks. I might try on the Mizuno wave rider 27s. I do like the Ghost though!

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  3 месяца назад

      Glad to hear the Ghost has been working for you. The Wave Rider would be a perfect alternative with the same 12mm heel drop and a more responsive midsole. If you plan to try the Wave Rider, let us know your thoughts!

    Is the Ghost the neutral version of the Glycerin?

    • @Echom4-kr5el
      @Echom4-kr5el 3 месяца назад +1

      They’re both neutral shoes. The Glycerin gts has stability due to the guide rails.

    • @stefanierunz
      @stefanierunz 3 месяца назад

      No. The ghost would be more like the neutral version of the Adrenaline. The glycerin is a max cushion neutral shoe. The glycerin GTS is a max cushion stability shoe.

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  3 месяца назад

      The Ghost is a less cushioned version of the Glycerin. It is the neutral version of the Adrenaline GTS.
